Well it's better than Taco Bell and for the area it's very good. It's slightly more authentic than other establishments and the flavor is similar to what you would find at a family home. You won't be disappointed the size of the meal is decent and the staff is great. Parking is easy and shopping is super close. If you live close you should definitely stop in. I normally love this place!! The service industry is changing.. tonight my Margarita did not taste the same as my first and There was a different garnish... an orange instead of a lime. When both my friend and I requested our drinks be remade due to us but thinking it was not the skinny.... We were told we cannot have it remade but order a different drink. That's how the drink comes and they will not remake it. When requesting we wanted to taste the same as our first drink, we were told we can leave. The request of a manager was denied and to go boxes were thrown at us..... going out to eat is not the same! read more

Wonderful experience!!! Food was delicious, wait staff was attentive, and drinks were on point! Table side guac was worth the extra few dollars. Skinny Marg was delightful, not too sweet and well-balanced. Slight issue w the qusadilla, but it was quickly corrected. La Carreta is now open in the former Whippersnappers space at Londonderry Commons. This is the 5th La Carreta in Southern NH with other locations in nearby Derry, Manchester (2), and Nashua, each restaurant is independently owned. The space was redone and divided into three separate dining areas including the bar/lounge area to the left, main dining room with tables and booths and the right dining room with booths. Each booth has its own overhanging metal light fixture. The walls have colorful art prints and the floor is hardwood. Like the other La Carreta restaurants, they offer a good variety of traditional and specialty authentic Mexican dishes at moderate prices. They also offer lunch specials too. The bar offers a variety of bottled and draft beers and cocktails including margaritas. I stopped in at the Londonderry La Carreta recently for dinner. I was seated promptly in the right dining room in a comfortable soft high booth. A waiter arrived in prompt order to take my drink order while I was deciding on what to eat. I had with me a Buy One Get One Half Off coupon from the local ValPak mailing. I ordered two dinners including a Beef Tips Chimichangas with refried beans ($12.99) and a Chile Authenticity ($12.99) with chicken served with rice and beans. Complementary chips and salsa were brought out after I ordered my dinners. The chips were crispy, but we're not warm. The crushed tomatoes salsa was decent. The dinners were served promptly to my table in under 10 minutes. The portion size for each dinner entree was just right, not too big. The chile autentico consisted of a very soft Poblano pepper stuffed with melted cheese and tender shredded chicken covered in a Verde sauce. The rice was standard and the refried beans was very soft, slightly liquidy. The 2 fried chimichangas were filled with tender beef tips and topped with lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole and soft refried beans on the side. The food I had was served very hot and food was filling to eat. I got a box for the leftover food and ordered Churros ($3.25) for dessert. The three churros were smothered with cinnamon sugar and warm honey, a very sweet dessert. They also ran out of fried ice cream. After using the coupon, the total check before tip was $24.78. The service here was pretty good and attentive. The waiter refilled my glass of ice water during dinner and the food came out quickly. The food however was good enough IMO, in comparison to my local favorite Mexican restaurants (Puerto Vallarta and La Fiesta, both in Manchester). read more

I have visited this establishment several times, despite the terrible service I received on my first visit 2 years ago. Tonight, no sooner did I see who was obviously my ignoring server, Jessie, visit the tables around me more than once, did I realize the food would again be the highlight of my visit. After 20 years in the restaurant industry, I know what decent service is compared to just plain rude. That has been my experience with Jessie twice now. I had to repeatedly ask for water, he never checked in on our meals, if only to clear our plates. Eventually we were greeted by another server who seemed to reluctantly take over and deliver our check. It would usually pain me to leave 15%...but it's more than he deserved. I can only assume that he is a family member, for he is that bad of a service experience (2 years later) its impossible to believe I'm the first to speak up. I wouldn't feel comfortable walking into a restaurant asking to not be sat in a particular section, but he is that bad. Consider yourself warned. Fantastic food though! read more

Went here on a whim on Valentine's Day. Wasn't to busy. We ordered and split a quesadilla. This is where it earned 3 stars. We got grilled chicken. It was over stuffed. It was soft, so you could not hold it to eat it. It was so stuffed it was hard to put any of the toppings on. There was little to no cheese in it. The price was a bit high. $12 for a small quesadilla. The refried beans were okay. Huge chunks of lettuce that was unnecessary and not usable. read more

My friend and I ate lunch at the La Carreta Restaurant on Friday, October 19. We both had nacho supreme and, as always, they were delicious. However, on this day, we both returned home and a few hours later had severe stomach pain which in turn became diarrhea and vomiting. Both did not subside fully until approximately 12 noon the next day. I called La Caretta and explained what happened. The woman said she didn't understand and they always served everything "fresh", I said "well, apparently, not this day!!" She gave me , in a half hearted attempt "I'm sorry" without any mention of any compensation such as a gift certificate/etc. This is unfortunate, because we have gone to this restaurant for lunch for many years and will NOT be returning. read more

This restaurant is horrible, we had a big party of 16 and more people came to stop by, the girl on the phone was rude and when we asked for a manager she said no and the manager did not come. Then throughout the night the Manager went to the table next to where I was seated and complained about my party and proceeded to talk poorly about us whilst we were right there. This manager is horrible and when we argued that the waitresses weren't good at their job and wouldn't let us split our tab when she just did for another table the manager compensated us a $30.00 gift card for a $500.00 tab, and said that's all he could do. In all of my restaurant experiences it has never been this bad. I'm just disgusted and hurt that a MANAGER could be that horrible. I'm never going there again, they lost my whole family's business and most likely other people's as well. (if I could go negative I would) read more

The Nashua location is much better than the Londonderry location. I had the taco salad with chicken. The bottom of the bowl was watery and there was hardly any beans. The service was not the best either. read more

La Carreta is hit or miss. I've been to some of the other locations and experienced the same. I've come to this location and had a really good meal at the bar, and we just recently went with the kids and had a less than stellar meal. This past visit, the margaritas weren't as good as previous visits. We like them freshly squeezed without the mix, but these were a little too strong, with not enough lime. The espinaca dip was watery and drippy, and the kids made a mess. I even dripped on my own clothes. The Pollo Ranchero was so salty, I could literally feel my body swelling with salt. The chicken itself was pretty good, but the sauce was just too salty. I can't say the same for the rice and beans which lacked any flavor. The chips and salsa are always good! read more

First time was a home run. . Second visit (Monday night- just happened to be my birthday dinner ) Good food - No water offered. Chips & salsa were fair - but went quickly and no refill was offered. Our server (Louis) fair at best. I asked for a glass of their 'special' (Herradura) tequila which i was highly recommended by our server at our first visit several weeks ago. Instead he came back with a very weak $14 Margarita (which i quickly drank instead of shipping back to the bar). Live & learn folks. Meal was good and was served promptly. Tried to order another glass of their 'special' imported Herraduras Tequila and it (barely) came. 3 weeks prior a was served a champagne glass 3/4 full and it was great! Tonight a drizzle (1 oz). Tried to explain that to our waiter- anyways... The owner / manager (big guy) did not understand what makes a happy customer- and will never understand what constitutes 'good' service.' I want to say I LOVE food. A lot. It's not often I do not enjoy something that is put in front of me. Upon entering the place, we were not greeted, the staff did not smile, it probably set the tone for the rest of the experience. We were seated on time and sadly our server's personality was also a bit sour. We were approached fairly quickly which was good, ordered the table-side guacamole, and shortly after the young lady making our guacamole was at our table- with a smile. The guacamole was delicious. We ordered a chicken taco salad and steak fajitas. The salad was served in a tortilla bowl and made up the majority of the entree. The chicken was supper tender and tasty. But as far as calling it a salad- there was more lettuce accompanying our fajitas and a half of a tomato slice- one half of one slice of tomato. The Fajita steak was a bit dry and served with a ton of green peppers and some onions, accompaniments included some shredded lettuce, another half of a slice of tomato. I would have to try this place again before ruling it out. But so far there wasn't something extraordinary that I am craving to get back there for. read more

I'm trying to be kind but maybe we should wait until the restrictions blow over. Had dinner here and it was difficult. Waitress didn't write anything we ordered down. Of course if came out wrong. She blamed the kitchen. I realize they are working very hard so I didn't get upset or reorder. So I can't say if the food was good or not. Then exactly 1 hour and 15 minutes after we were seated they literally kicked us out. There were several empty tables but they said people were waiting. Untrue. There was nobody waiting! This is my favorite Mexican "chain restaurant. I have been to the Nashua location more times but recently enjoyed a great dinner here. The menu has a great variety of selections. The salsa and chips that come out as your bread are fresh and salsa has a great little kick to it. My nephew devours the guacamole by the bowl. This location can get very busy around dinner, but it is well worth the wait. My favorite is the 3 taco plate with rice and beans. I like the ground beef as well as the chicken. And the steak quesadilla is the bomb dot com. My only nitpick is my soda always seems to be flat. Everything thing else is top notch. read more

The worst service and quality of Mexican food I have had in quite some time. Margarita was watered down, chips were stale, waiter was unattentive and quickly rushed us in and out of there. The taco salad I ordered was so saturated with oil the taco shell was mush on the bottom. Also, no rice in a taco salad?? Get outta here. My husbands burrito looked like it got run over by a truck. The beans were a wet mess. He ordered another ginger ale and the waiter comes back with a beer glass and two straws. Been here 3 times and had terrible service with a different waitstaff each time. Food is pretty good for Mexican food in New England, but I just can't get past the service. Waitstaff seems uninterested in serving and you will sit for quite a long time before ordering food, getting refills, etc. Waitress gave one word answers and had no concern with my table. By far the best and easiest Mexican place to get to around my city. The staff is amazing, always smiling and they tend to remember you. The restaurant is always clean and decorated. Nevertheless, the menu is amazing. They have big or small meals. The Nachos Santa Fe have to be one of my favorites, must try! Can't forget the huge margaritas, some of the tastiest I've ever had. valentines day disaster dinners. Nashua location and Derry are the only other two I've visited multiple times. This was my first and maybe last time at this location. It is not like I do not know what to expect from their offerings. It's just this location can not deliver on service and quality. My food was prepared hours if not days ago. Carnitas were a disaster dry and like days old. The mex rice was pretty good though at least moist and the best item on the plate. The longer I looked at the food presented the angrier I got. There is no follow up from the server after the drink order or more drink order. I guess they know better than to stop by to find out if the people that brought the food out was correct or in error. We had to grab two separate people other than our waitress for two different reasons. I finally searched out and found the manager. Explained the problems and he was accommodating and apologized. I'll give this location another chance because everyone needs a second chance. But that trip may be my last. read more

Completely dissatisfied. We went to La Carreta and were waited on by a gentleman that completely ignored us. He took our drink order and brought that back rather quickly. We then ordered an appetizer and food and one more drink for our daughter. My daughter's drink and appetizer never arrived. We never saw the waiter again. The kitchen expeditor (i assume) brought us part of our meal. I told him we didn't get our appetizer and my daughters drink. I said, forget the appetizer at this point. He returned with my daughters drink. Later he returned with the rest of our meal and I asked him if he was the Manager. He said no. I still did not see our waiter. We ate our food (it was ok, but by this point I'm just mad). We finished our food, no waiter. Waited and waited for someone to clear our plates and bring the check. Finally flagged down another waitress and asked about our waiter. She said, "oh he's busy with a big party in another room". NO apology, just defending this behavior ? If there was a big party, why on earth did the guy take our table? One of the other FIVE servers we saw could have easily waited on us. Greedy on his part! We flagged down the expeditor again and asked him for the check. I really feel he should've brought us the manager at this point because we told him again we hadn't seen our waiter the whole time, and we were unhappy. Paid the bill, wrote in $0 for a tip and explained why (as best I could on the receipt). All in all, a service DISASTER on all fronts. Waiter for taking the table in the first place, when he knew he had a big party coming in (they were setting up the table in a different part of the restaurant when we came in). The expo for not getting a manager when we were clearly upset. The other waitress for justifying his horrible behavior when a simple, "I"m sorry" would've made things better. You'd think being a new restaurant that SERVICE (which imho makes or breaks a restaurant.. no matter how good the food is, if the service sucks, people won't come back) would be a top priority. Worst experience at a La Carreta. I've visited all of them and this new location not only had terrible service but the food was awful! We were a party of 8 co workers so we asked to have our check split the waiter refused to. One person in our party had to leave early and he would not let him pay for his two drinks. Many of our orders came out incorrect and cold. One person in our party has a dairy allergy and asked for no cheese in her meal and it still came out with cheese. When they brought it back you could tell they just picked it out. There was still residue of cheese in her meal. We had to share one drink menu with the entire restaurant because they didn't have any printed. When we asked the hostess to split out check at the end she graciously did but the waiter came over and scolded us as if we were children. If I hadn't already paid I would have taken back my tip!! read more

I ate at the Nashua location decades ago, found a bandaid in the chips and never should've went back. Wanted a spinach burrito instead got cold meat and screamed at by the manager. I should've just ate the meat because I probably would've felt better than after I did when I got off the phone with this lunatic. Even though the hostesses were extremely friendly from the moment they took our order right down to when we called to tell them that our order was wrong. Since I don't live in the area, when the host offered to void out the charge, I was super appreciative that she didn't want to further inconvenience me. That didn't happen the following Monday, so as I returned to NYC, I decided to follow-up. After leaving multiple messages, I finally got a hold of the manager on Wednesday evening. The manager had one of the most explosive tempers I've ever witnessed. I feel incredibly bad for the people working for him. I was a server and a bartender for well over a decade so I'm used to be treating disrespectfully, but usually by patrons and I'd never be rude to service folks, they're job is hard enough. This manager went from 0 to 10 as I explained why I was calling. He said that he didn't call back because no one would ever tell someone they could void a charge. I appreciate his confidence in his staff, but alluding to the fact that a customer is lying is literally the worse thing you can do in the restaurant biz. This person talked over me and yelled at me, which is ridiculous because I'm a grown adult and I had assumed he was as well. He even called me rude and patronizing when I suggested that it may be easier to work the charge out with my bank and then hung up on me! The whole experience was a total nightmare, I feel like if I were there in person he would've punched me and that's not a fun feeling. read more

Have been to a few other la carretta's, this one fell short. I popped in to order take out. While I waited for my order I decided to have a margarita at the bar. The bartender greeted me right away with a smile. I placed my drink order and the bartender offered me chips and salsa while I waited for my take out order. The margarita was made correctly and tasted great. The dining room had a few tables but wasn't busy at all. I was the only patron at the bar. My take out order seemed to be taking a little long so I asked if it was almost ready. The bartender went to check and said it should be out in a few minutes. He then asked if I wanted another drink since I was just about done with the one I had. I declined since my take out was just about done. Nope not the case. Another 10 minutes go by and I inquire again about the order. The bartender disappears for about another 5 to 6 minutes and returns with my food. After 45 minutes of placing my take-out order and having one margarita at the bar I was on my way home. Finally got home to lukewarm food. Ordered 2 orders of chicken quesadillas, cheese dip, side of rice and Pico de gallo. The rice tasted old and had burnt pieces throughout the dish. The pico de gallo was heavily flavored with cilantro. I get the cilantro is a main ingredient but when you can't taste anything else maybe you put too much in. The shredded chicken for the quesadilla wasn't blan but didn't have much flavor at all. After spending close to $55 with tip and the long wait for food, the Londonderry's location wasn't worth it. I'll stay with the Derry and Manchester location. read more
