We really liked their decor. The service was also pleasant. We were disappointed in the fish croquettes. My cuban frita was lukewarm and dry. My husband had a fried snapper. This was the best dish out of everything , however he was disappointed in that as well. He said the fish was not seasoned very well and he had to keep adding salt. My husband is Cuban and was not impressed with the food.

Churrasco

Great place. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is great too. They're known for their Cuban pizza but have a wide variety. I loved the Churrasco with fried sweet potato pieces on the side. They also have a variety of fresh juices and shakes. Don't skip on dessert - the flan and arroz con leche are delicious. The restaurant was very lively on a Friday night and we had a great time.

Food always excellent. Service always excellent. Ambiance very South Florida style. If you go and don't like it, you have a problem. Our recent server, Daniela P, was very courteous and polite. Our favorite bartender, tall with beard, always on point with the Mojitos. Highly recommend!!

Polo Norte is a great choice if you're looking for good cuban food and a bit of italian mix. We had lunch there first time. Servers were friendly and explained the lunch specials. We had ham croquetas so good the smoked ham. Pretty nice size croquetas too! We had shrimp pizza, beef stew with sweet potato bites and sweet plantains, steak sandwich, chicken soup, palomilla steak and sweet potato. The food was excellent specially the palomilla steak was thick, tender and juicy. Worth every penny. The beef stew was a bit cold but still tasty. The food came out really fast. Overall nice lunch great prices for the portions. Restaurant bar casual vibe nice decor. Definitely we'll be back for another lunch.

I always order the churrasco and it is always cooked to perfection! The guava and cheese pizza is a delicious treat when you're being bad . Their lychee martinis and el espresso martini are really good! Their old fashioned is bomb. Any choice on their menu is good! Service is awesome! They have accommodated me with large parties many times without any issues.

Always a great time here. The ambiance is amazing with the sitting outdoors. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I always get the chicken Caesar salad because it's perfect!! My husband loves the vaca frita.

It's great value Cuban food where you get huge portions for great price. We like coming here with a big group of friends and sharing food. My husband loves their churrasco steak. I usually order one of their sandwiches and you cannot go wrong with Cubans sandwich. I also tried their shrimp and they were pretty good. I love their deserts and my favorite is flan de leche. Also must try the plantain pizza, as weird as it might sound.

Bistec de Res a la Milanesa

I love visiting my hometown and going to one of my favorite restaurants!! The type of food is Latin American, Cuban way. The bistec a la Milanesa was delicious, but truly i have more than half of the things on the menu and so far nothing has seemed to fail me! Although I will say, my parents ordered a cuban style pizza and were not a fan of it. I did not try so I cannot confirm if it's true lol. For the times we've been there through my childhood till now, we have not had any bad experiences due to the service or food. The place is at a cute little plaza, its nice to either sit inside or outside!(depending on FL weather )

This is practically a weekly go-to spot. Their pizzas are delicious and so filling. Lots of interesting types to pick from, and they even have a dessert pizza. Their traditional Cuban plates like the boniato relleno de tasajo is filled with some super savory meat and is incredibly filling. Love the variety and don't forget to try their ice cream with classic Cuban flavors!

Vaca frita de pollo

Polo Norte is the ultimate Cuban restaurant. The vaca frita de pollo is so crispy and flavorful. The portion sizes are generous--enough to make you question your life choices when you inevitably finish it all. Prices are very reasonable and the service was great for our large table. They even have pizza for those who are feeling adventurous. Because who doesn't want a slice of pizza with their black beans? If you're in South Florida, hit up Polo Norte--you won't regret it!

This place has great drinks! Crafted by great mixologists. I got the peachy lychee from the seasonal menu. Sweet but not too sweet. Hunger struck randomly so I decided to browse the menu. They had several apps I was interested in. Tip - the buns and empanadas comes with 3 per order. I decided to get the short rib and mash potatoes. The gravy that came with the mash was so good! I wish the dish would've had a different veggie. The broccoli was very small. There was a lot of potatoes. Wish it was a little more portioned but it was good.

Both had cilantro aioli but that did little make either of them tasty. While the short rib meat was tender, it was boring and flavorless. The Churassco was super fatty and chewy, if there was onion jam on the sliders, well I couldn't tell. The atmosphere is chill and the outdoor seating does have greenery that provides a bit of privacy for the patio seating, but I was underwhelmed. Service was nonexistent and food was bland.

I proceeded to walk inside and I found a seat at the bar and I sat there. There were some people in there and I definitely wouldn't say it was dead, but it also wasn't crazy busy. There was three people working one lady with red shorts and curly hair another lady with blue pants and straight hair and then a short guy. I later seen a taller guy as I was leaving, he was not involved in my experience. The lady with the straight hair and the guy were on the side I was on they kept walking past and at no point seeing if I wanted anything, I know some bars you have to get the bartenders attention instead of them checking what you want so after 8minutes, I attempted to get the female's attention a few times for a few minutes and it did not work (she did serve other people during that time and was having conversation with ppl). Eventually, the lady with curly hair came to my side to make someone on her side's drink. I asked if I could order a drink and she motioned to give her a minute. She went back to her side, made the person's drink, then took some new orders from people and made their drinks and served beers.I waited over 6 minutes. Eventually she came to the side I was on and took the order of the person sitting directly to my right, completely ignoring me. At which point I concluded I was not going to get any service in this establishment and decided to leave after a total of 17 minutes of sitting at the bar and being completely ignored. I try to self reflect and think if I did something to warrant this treatment but I couldn't think of anything. The only thing that makes me feel slightly better is there was a guy sitting to my left that had a cup already and he kept trying to get her attention and she seemed to be avoiding him. I'm not sure if everyone was avoiding him for some reason and I was just unlucky for sitting next to him. I hated the feeling that this experience left me with and I hope no one else has this experience. The DJ was pretty good, even playing a few minutes of Reggae which surprised me. I ended up going to the Seminole Classic Casino and got service as soon as I sat down. The DJ was playing R&B and I ended up tipping him he was so good.

Sidecar Speakeasy was the play... The speakeasy entrance was hidden in a hallway you can walk right by without even noticing. I dig it. Once inside, it's dark. Most of the light is coming from the light showcasing the bottles in the bar. The seating is a little tight as they're trying to maximize space for such a small area. We visited here twice during my visit: We sat at a table and a bar. You have the perfect amount of space for your party, but you're pretty close to the next table or bar seat. No claustrophobic vibes though. All the mixologists were great during both visits. One visit, we ordered their signature cocktails from the menu. When we sat at the bar, we had the mixologist surprise with a cocktail off the menu. He just asked what kind of liquor vibe we wanted, and he took it from there. He was super creative with every cocktail which made for a great time. They stayed upon until midnight one one visit and until 1 am on the other one. Both my visits were on a weekday. The sidecar speakeasy is easily my favorite bar in Fort Lauderdale and I have a feeling I'll be back. Enjoy!

It's a smallish restaurant but they also have seating outside. From what I understand they do have an area for private parties. We were seated and given our menus and told about the house specials. I ordered the taglioline cacio e pepe and my husband got the fettuccine meatballs. All the pastas in the restaurant are homemade and the one I ordered was prepared table side in a cheese wheel. I don't even know where to start except to say that this was so delicious and definitely one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. The cheese sauce was so creamy and there was a slight taste of truffle in there. They ask you if you'd like pepper in it so I had them add a little bit to cut out some of the creaminess of the sauce. My husband's fettuccine was equally as delicious and I loved the meatballs and I'm usually not a person who likes restaurant made meatballs because I think mine are the best! For dessert we split a slice of tiramisu and it was very good. Sangria was very good as well. Mimmo, the owner and chef came over to say hello and to make sure we were enjoying our food and service. It was really nice chatting with him and I told him that we are definitely going to be repeat customers! It's not visible from the street so I'd suggest using your GPS there first time you go there unless you're familiar with the area.
