Excellent service and food! I had a coupon and decided to use it. The location has a simple interior, but very welcoming. The bathroom was clean. They had 2 hand sanitizer bottles out, but no soap. It is a small issue, but an easy fix. I ordered the Small Bandeja Paisa. It turned out to be a very popular item, because I saw 3 other people order it after I arrived. It is a great, simple meal, with quality ingredients. The only thing I regret is not telling them how to prepare the egg. My egg came out well done, but I prefer over-easy. I especially enjoyed the unexpected complimentary appetizer of a cup of stewed lentils. I will be back! :-) read more

This restaurant place used to be called La gran sorpresa but the name changed to La Cazuela, please be aware of this. The food is so good, so homey, so delicious. I don't have enough words. According to an online Spanish-to-English translation, (http://translation.babylon.com/spanish/to-english/sudado/ ) that means a chicken covered in sweat . Now THAT"S a Big Surprise!! Chicken thigh and wing in the orange-colored sauce was tasty, but somewhat plain and home-style. It came with plantains, rice and beans. Distracting from the experience is a TV with a soap opera on that was too loud. Décor is simple, clean and pleasant. Walked onto Richmond Avenue while my car was getting fixed. It was getting kinda hot outside so I decided to walk into the first decent place I see and grab a snack/drink; and this place was it. Wasn't too hungry so I ordered some Yucca Fries and mango juice so that I could sit there for a while and believe me, I was amazed! The Yucca fries tasted really fresh, with the perfect amount of crispiness and a bit soft on the inside. They served some ground chili paste on the side which was unbelievable! I had the mango juice in water (I don't know what other kind they offer, the lady just asked me 'Water?' when I asked for the juice and I thought she meant water on the side with my meal as well, so I nodded Yes : l), and it turned out to be super refreshing and cooling, which helped on my 1 mile walk back to the mechanic's! Definitely need to go here again and explore the rest of the menu. read more

I was able to try the empanadas that were brought in to my job. It was the best thing I've ever tasted!!!! I have never had Colombian empanadas before so I didn't know what to expect. It was a crispy pillow of delicious meat and potatoes that just melted in your mouth. The salsa verde was perfectly spicy and just brought everything together. I had to come back and get more that won't be shared with my co-workers the inside of the restaurant feels like someone's living room. It was cozy and the owner is super sweet. read more

My better half and I always joke that we get one lunch and can't get it back so we must choose wisely. Well on this day, I wished I would have put more thought into our choice. Bandeja Paisa is my go to dish whenever we go out for Colombian food and this day was no different. Steamed rice, grilled steak, sunny-side eggs, chicharrones, chorizo, an arepa, and a few slices of avocados - sounds like a simple plate right? But it is all in the flavor! Unfortunately, my plate lacked that and more. The rice was mushy and the steak could have used more seasoning. I also like my sunny-side eggs runny, but they overcook theirs. The highlight of our meals was the empanadas - nice crisp, crunch in every bite and perfect temperature. I could have just eaten those and be fine. There are plenty of other Colombian restaurants that are far stellar than this place. I'll stick to my usual stomping grounds. read more

This place used to be good and used to be reasonable price now the food bland as well more expensive . The rice was super oily and had no flavor and meat was super greasy and bland. Nice and clean inside, located in a dead strip center. I stumbled upon it while getting my car checked across the street and decided to eat a light lunch there. I just got a few empanadas, and they were good! The rest of the menu looks really tasty too, a bit pricey, but maybe that's the going rate for Colombian food, I'm not sure it was my first time ever at a Colombian place. For food, I'd say this is a winner just by the variety of the menu! The only thing that was disappointing was the service. There was definitely a language barrier. No English, and that's fine, I can order in Spanish I don't mind. But the waitress...I don't know if it just wasn't her day or what, but she made me feel uncomfortable about not being able to be totally fluent or even just answer the questions I had properly. It was weird. Her mood seemed off. Not sure if she was hoping I'd order more or something? I also got charged $1.25 for using my credit card, the meal total was only $3.75. But I know some places do that if the total is under a certain amount. Just noted. Anyway, I'd be willing to give it another try :) read more

Terrible place. I ordered 4 chicken and 4 meat empanadas to go and waited 35 minutes to get them. Then, when the lady handed them to me she said I'm sorry we ran out of chicken. If you want authentic colombian food.. there's no doubt you have to check this place out. Food is always fresh, waitress are nice and just how they should be. Makes you feel at home coming to moms cooking (that's if you are colombian). You will not be disappointed none the less. I love this place. I go there about once or twice a week. The Bandeja montanera is my favorite plate closely followed by the arroz con pollo. Everything has a special "home made" touch to it.
