The food is absolutely fantastic, extremely flavorful and not overly seasoned either. The portions for the tacos are huge as well, normally when I go to a taco place I need 3-4 to feel satiated and I was good with the two huge tacos I got! The service was fantastic as well, there aren't too many tables but we were sat right away, and the server was extremely mindful of us, bringing us hot sauces, bringing a fly fan, and checking on us an appropriate amount of times. The restaurant is small, completely outdoors, but in the shade with plenty of fans to keep the air moving, as someone who gets hot and uncomfortable easily, I felt very comfortable here. Surprisingly, felt comfortable on a mildly warm evening + even back under the old owners my family said the heat was never unbearable, mostly thanks to the large standing fans. My only real complaint was the abundance of flies. though they provide table fans to help, it's still not ideal around your food. I highly suspect it's a family-run operation, + their daughter was our server. What felt like a leisurely meal actually only lasted ~45 min, which is incredible to me for a sit-down dining experience. The restaurant seemed pretty slow, though, even for a Wednesday night at peak dinner time, but I guess middle of the week isn't prime eating-out time. Their menu is standard with options, but nothing unfamiliar, making decisions easy. Overall, it's pretty good food with plentiful portions. We were stuffed by the end + still had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. I wish them all the best + I hope they stay in business. My friend ordered a few different tacos and loved every single one, but I've personally ordered the grilled chicken bowl twice now and I'm officially obsessed. So fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. My husband (who is very serious about his tacos ) said their Al pastor tacos are the best he's ever had. The setup is great for a quick bite or hanging out outside. There's plenty of shaded seating which makes it really enjoyable, especially in the Florida heat. I love supporting new businesses in Seminole Heights, and this one has a lot going for, but they do need to up their food game. The restaurant itself is outdoors, but covered, and decorated very nicely. The person I placed my togo order through was extremely friendly. I perused the menu, thinking I would get chicken tacos, but as soon as I saw they offered birria tacos I could not say no. I also ordered a side of Mexican coleslaw; it was nice to have more options than just rice and beans. Food was ready in a timely manner. Unfortunately, while I did love the flavor of the birria meat in the tacos, the taco shell was essentially disintegrated and impossible to pick up. And the whole thing was so incredibly greasy, it was literally coating my hands. The slaw was good though; it had a nice tart flavor. Tacos were great and nicely portioned, meat and tortilla were flavorful. Burrito is decent sized and tasty but a bit heavy hands proportionally on the rice. Maybe more beans, meat and less rice? The atmosphere is what it is. It's a bit of a weird vibe given it's outside in a parking lot. Service is oddly 'sit-down' service. I think a 'casual' order at the counter vibe would do much better. A new spot that just opened up a month ago! They definitely offer the best Mexican in the area (possibly in all of Tampa??). The service was friendly and fast. We got the trio dip with salsa, guacamole, and queso. The taco orders come with one taco so you can mix and match with whatever you want. I am a pescatarian so I was more limited in my options, but even then...a great shrimp taco. It was heavy on the cheese, but I liked the crispy cheese edges. I also got the Esquites (not pictured) and I think that was my least favorite only because of how much sauce was on it. It is odd as the tables overlook the parking lot and I imagine summers will be tricky since it's completely outdoors, but there are overhead fans. read more

We have gotten take out 3 times since they've been open. Food is amazing and the steak is our favorite. I did see other reviews about the tacos falling apart but we did not have that experience. Staff has been nice when we pick up orders. Would rate food 6/5. We are getting increasingly frustrated with the order and wait times. One time we tried to call to order and were told no we have to order online. When we went to order, the menu we had did not match the online ordering menu so we called again and were told we didn't have the correct menu and whatever is on the online ordering menu was what they offered. We had a large order and gave them a heads up but they still wanted us to order online. Fine. Food took an hour longer than estimated and they forgot a bag so we had to go back. Again, they were nice but no extra food or discount or anything. Tonight, my husband placed an order for 1 entree. The online ordering wasn't working and it took multiple calls before he could get through to someone. Food was estimated to be ready at 8:05 pm, was not ready until 8:35 pm. We love the food and understand new businesses have kinks to work out. I hope they can stay here in SH. read more

This is not only the best tacos and guac I have ever had, but it might be one the best meals I have had. The pineapple drink was amazing too. I'm not sure how they cook the beef, but it's been kissed by God or the chef made a deal with the devil. My only complaint is flys. Bring one of those fly fans if eating outside. Them bastards line up on the gauc like one of those feed the world commercials from the 80's. It's hot but they have fans to cool you off pretty well even in the Florida summer heat. read more

This place absolutely delivers. Service was fantastic, the wait was perfectly reasonable because the food was incredible. It really is flame-grilled in the best possible way and don't listen to any reviews that talk about, "soggy tacos." The tacos are priced great for what you are getting and the come out as fresh as they can be. The birria is an obvious choice but the skirt steak tacos bring that miami flare straight to tampa. I recommend sit-down because if you are in a rush you aren't giving this place the chance it deserves. read more

A MUST EAT AT! I have lived in Tampa and loved all things Mexican food for decades... this place does it better. If you enjoy good service, high quality food, good options, and a good bang-for-your-buck, this place is for you. I ate 4 of their tacos and felt obliged to write this review, because La central truly does it better. i would just suggest being careful with what you wear, as the restaurant is built into a sort of garage and the weather and outdoor temperature might affect your experience. I don't recommend, if you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine this is NOT the place for you. They had NO sense of urgency at all and they care more about to-go orders than the in house orders.
