    Beef quesadilla
    Jennie A.

Waited in line for 30 minutes to be told at the window they are out of chicken. Would have appreciated a sign that said out of chicken because that is a big part of the menu. Then asked if they could add queso fresco to my beef quesadilla and was told they are unable to do that when I see them spreading queso fresco on the tacos in the back. I don't know how that's different. The quesadilla was average. I don't recommend this place. The staff was friendly and that's the only good thing about this place.

Amazing customer service. A great location, I tried the street corn and mushroom tacos. I really liked the mushroom tacos, i wish the shells were cooked or maybe flour but the food did its job. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

I've been to Gallito 2-3 times now. It's one of the shops in Sparkman Wharf, so there's always plenty of seating. The staff are always friendly and eager to give recommendations. My favorite item there is the quesabirria taco. It's the perfect meaty cheesy taco with a delicious dipping broth. I've also had the puffy tacos (2 for $6 on taco Tuesday!). I really enjoyed the shell and the queso fundido, but the puffy tacos are a bit greasy.

Nice taco spot at the wharf, and their combo pack of 8 tacos, chips and queso, and street corn was a great bundle for a family. We got an assortment of tacos with some chicken, beef, and mushroom. They weren't labelled so we each took some chances, but they were meaty (or mushroomy), decently packed with toppings, and easy to handle with not much mess. The chips and queso was a great portion, so much that some of us ended up dipping tacos in the queso because why not. The street corn came loaded with cheese and spices. There were 6 of us and we were all filled for lunch. We luckily got a table nearby with an umbrella, but good seating will be a bit hit or miss. My main issue was one employee taking the orders and making the food. It is good food, but just be prepared to wait.

We were at the Florida Aquarium and wanted somewhere walkable because we had already paid a small fortune to park. Sparkman Wharf has lots of options. I chose Gallito for puffy tacos which were okay, but not awesome. I got there at 11 so there was no wait and seating was easy to come but if you didn't mind sitting in the sun. The puffy tacos were $10 for two, not a bad deal, but the puffy tacos I've had before were softer. These were super crunchy and fell apart. The flavor was good. I've just had better. It was convenient and tasty, but I think I'd try something else next time.

The service and ambiance are great. I love the location and the outside area where you can sit. It's all super nice. The tacos were pretty good, I would recommend those off the menu ! However, the quesadillas.. way too greasy. Overall, a good experience though.

Stopped by to try a couple of the outside food spots at the warf today. This is the first time here and I wasn't disappointed. It was the best tacos I've ever had but they were solid, fresh and ready in minutes. I would return for these tacos any day!

First time trying Gallito at Sparkman Wharf! If you've been to SW you know there are several food options but the great thing is you can try a little bit of everything! At least that's what my fiancé and I did. From Gallito I ordered the quesabirria chili braised beef tacos stuffed with queso, onions, cilantro and griddled crisp. Served with a side of chili beef consomme for dipping. I have to say that as a self proclaimed taco connoisseur I was quite impressed! The only thing I asked for and added was lime! It was the finishing touch because the consommé was a tad bit salty for me! Service was great and prompt! They have quite a selection of food and drinks (jarritos, beer, sangria etc..) as well. I can't wait to return and try something different from the menu! This is a perfect place for date night, family day or solo date! There's ample outdoor seating areas all around!

We came here on a Friday night. It wasn't too busy and the woman taking our order was upbeat and nice! I ordered the Cantina Tequila drink - it was very good! The woman taking the order recommended a lime with it. I also had the Quesabirria tacos - they were 4/5. The broth needed a tad bit more salt

Sparkman's Wharf is a beautiful place to spend some time exploring. It offers a wide range of different places to eat, I decided to try the birria quesadilla at Gallito, delicious! The broth was amazing although I'd recommend asking for lime and adding that to it.. Staff was kind and helpful so it made ordering that much more easier.

Service - Excellent. The person who took our order was friendly and polite. Our food was prepared in a timely manner and was served hot. Food - Excellent. It was taco Tuesday so I ordered two tacos for $6. Having spent a lot of time in Mexico and dined on tacos there often, I know that these were authentic. I had the chicken and the beef tacos. They both were very tender and tasted great. Overall Value - Excellent. Two excellent tacos for $6 and excellent service! Excellent value!

I am a huge nacho fan so I couldn't resist ordering the nachos with ground beef, although I asked for no beans. The person taking the orders was very efficient. It was Taco Tuesday so they were fairly busy, but the wait wasn't long at all. The nachos were very good. The spicy salsa added so much flavor as did the queso. I only wish there had been more queso as I had lots of dry chips.

    Quesabirria (sorry if wrong spelling)

Found myself back in Sparkman's Wharf for yet another yelp elite event and wanted to grab something of sustenance other than chocolate. I ran into this place and saw that they had the quesabirria tacos (not sure if I'm spelling this right). The thing is I've been dying to try this style of taco which has been featured on alot of food trend sites for the last couple of months. So...when I got the opportunity, I just had to get take it. I placed in my order for one, which consists of two tacos with dipping sauce (or some kind of broth). Coulda had two orders, which would have given me a total of four, but I digress... Quesabirria, as I understand it, is meat that's been deep fried in its fat, then the whole taco is deep fried as well with cheese, along with the corn taco shell, and you get a soup/dipping sauce/broth to dip it in. Now normally I do not like corn taco shells because it's hard, but lemme tell you...between the sauce, the meat, and the cheese all blended together in melty, cheesy, tasty harmony, my tongue and palate were on cloud 9. I enjoyed dipping the tacos thoroughly into the flavored sauce until its soft. The meat itself was incredibly tender and had a good stretchy, ratio of cheese to go along with it. The sauce itself was good, and I actually drank the rest of it like soup since I really didn't know what else to do with it and it was really good. Definitely plan on getting more of these tasty tacos!

All was inviting, and a great way to remove yourself from the very busy atmosphere of the Marriott lobby which was crowded. We sat at the bar since we loved to be surrounded by the activity of the place. We started off with their special spicy margarita and ceviche. Loved that it was more Peruvian style, and not the tomato based one. More my preference of the lime taste. Then for dinner my husband had the strip steak, and I had the chicken fajitas. Both were flavorable, especially the sides, especially the corn cake type side, that were served with the strip steak. Both were seasoned well. My husband's flank steak, though delicious, was overcooked. The bar tender was attentive and answered all our questions about the menu, and provided some great suggestion including which entrees were most popular and also her favorites. Definitely will come back. Will also order the carne asada again but make sure to tell the server to cook the steak more medium rare than medium.

We started with chips and salsa which set a great tone, the tortilla chips were perfectly salty and the salsa was solid, no notes there. It was also Taco Tuesday which means one free drink with a taco order, so naturally I had a classic margarita (also solid!) and went with the al pastor tacos because the sweet plantains on top had my name written all over them. Full disclosure: our waitress actually recommended the chicken, carne asada, or birria... so I can't say I wasn't warned lol! The pork did run a little dry, but the flavors were genuinely enjoyable and the authentic corn tortillas were a highlight for me. The yucca fries were a touch dry as well but still decent with the accompanying sauce. My friend also let me try her octopus, not typically my thing, but the flavors were nicely done! Honestly this feels like one of those spots where I just ordered the wrong things for my first visit, which means I have to go back and do it right. The chicken, carne asada, or birria are calling my name next time. Would definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you can catch happy hour!
