We had to improvise for a meal plan one night while on our trip to Austin. The place we wanted to…read morego to was simply filled up and the wait was quite lengthy. So we spotted Tamale House East nearby and at first we were a little bit concerned with the overall Yelp averaged score but we decided to proceed anyway and have a meal here. And I am very glad we did! We got some chips and salsa and it was very good! In addition to that I got the Texas Sized Tamale Plate. The tamale was good! There were a few different sauces to pick from and I went with the Tex-Mex Chili for my sauce on top of the tamale. In addition to that I got rice and beans to go along with the plate and those were enjoyable as well. Of course I had to get a margarita and that was nice and refreshing on the warmer day we were experiencing in Austin. No complaints really. The atmosphere is nice and the decor is attractive. I saw some reviews about the service being a bit slow and it sort of was so probably if you anticipate getting into a time crunch best manage your time where you can just kick back and enjoy the food and drink rather adding that stressor on.

I got a mezcal margarita and a tamale with chilli and cheese. So good. The salsa, tamale, rice, and beans dont look fancy, but flavor is a 5/5. They even have free parking for guests which is amazing for 6th St. Family owned and in operation since 1958. Check out this treasure.

It was pretty big and filling as well. Cons-They cannot sell drinks so you'll have to walk into the gas station to get your drinks. Will come back next time I drive through Hutto.

The truck is a beautiful color and it stands out. Easy to find it near the gas station. I wanted to try all of the specialty tacos so I ordered one of everything: migas, ulitimo (sausage, chorizo bacon and egg), brisket, picadillo. I ordered a traditional taco as well (bacon and egg taco). Once you order from the window, they bring your order to your car. You can also call ahead with your ahead. Didn't take long at all to get my tacos. This is very convenient so you don't have to stand outside and can sit in your car jamming out to Harry Styles. The picadillo taco was good. They definitely flavor their meat. Yum! The migas taco was also good. The brisket taco was full of meat and very moist. The ultimo taco was a burst of flavor with all the meats and seasoning. Loved it! While the bacon and egg taco was good...specialty tacos are where it's at!!! Yyyaaasss!! Loved the tacos here and can't wait to try more things. Welcome to the area!

My first time ever trying Michelin star tacos!…read more Suedero tacos and they were amazing! Juicy, tender, and with a squeeze of lime and salsa (red plus green) it was perfect! Like your girl can eat tacos but I had never been one to be like let's go get some cause I am craving them. But man cuantos tacos can definitely get me saying I want and crave them! I thought prices were pretty fair at 2.75 a piece. After much researchon what to eat in Austin this is one of the spots that I saved as a bookmark. While I was in Austin, a foodie friend on Instagram shared with me her list of recommendations since she just moved to Austin not too long ago. I knew that Ihad to stop by Cuantos Tacos, I mean how often do you see a Michelin BibGourmand taco truck. We came here for dinner but it was cold, sprinkling, anddark out. Tables they had were wet from the sprinkle.  My family only triedthe suadero taco ($2.75 per taco) but OMG it was the best thing we ate duringour trip in Austin. It was super memorable, the meat was soft and the salsaadded the perfect kick to it. It's been a month, my husband and I are still daydreamingabout these tacos.  Tacos are madepretty fast, we had to order tacos 3x since they were so good, we kept wantingmore. Wait time was super reasonable. Staff are nice and if I lived closer Ican see myself coming here every taco Tuesday! This definitely is a must go tospot if you like tacos.   Tips: *Small parking lot *Outdoor seating only *Credit card accepted *Porta Potty in theback (night time it is pretty dark and hard to see) *They cater. *You can also orderonline for pick up. Tips: Credit card and cash accepted. Outdoor seating option only. Restroom is port a potties. Located in an area with other food trucks.

Making them costra style to add cheese for 50c is a nice touch too. The picnic seating kinda leaves a lot to be desired, my table was very broken. Staff is friendly and helpful in the truck!
