    Hernano displaying the "menu"!

Ok Hideaway really doesn't do it justice. More like Tony's Secret Garden! You have to drive off the beaten path to find the door. Once you arrive the welcome, the food, and the service is first class. Climb the steps to the 2nd floor and maybe someone will be sitting there to tell you to go on up to the 3rd floor. Wonderful view overlooking the rooftops of Mismaloya. The "menu" is a platter of all the actual choices, including lobster, huge shrimp, kabobs, steaks and more. Holy crap! Amazing! Herman was our waiter, the son of Tony! I recommend taking the SECOND turn to the top of the hill instead of the first. A little more user friendly.

Second time to Garza Blanca and second trip back to La Choza Tony's Hideaway for dinner. It's a one of a kind dining experience. I wish we were able to get back there more!! We will be back again! The customer service is unmatched. 5 stars We took a taxi from Garza Blanca and back.

Wonderful place to eat. Amazing service. Delicious food. Followed by a speciality Mexican coffee. The restaurant sits on the top overlooking mismaloya. It was the best place to have our last night dinner

Great view looking of the bay

Elmar was super friendly. Gave us the skinny of the place and the town. His grandmother made the best food. The menu is literally a tray of meat that you pick from. Wish we ventured out earlier to this place. Definitely worth the 10min walk from resort.

This place was off the beaten path and a true hidden gem. Our friends who were staying at Barcelo heard about this place and invited us. We got in a taxi and headed to Mismaloya. On first impression we had no clue where the taxi driver was taking us, bumped along a nice cobblestone road and he dropped us in front of the sign. The restaurant was shockingly empty and truly after our experience couldn't understand why it wasn't a packed house in there, it was such a great experience. We had a big group and the menu is presented to you on platter, it's an assortment of seafood and meats. We requested "whatever is on that platter, take it to the back, stick it in the oven and bring it back out" The margaritas were incredible on top of the food and we had the opportunity to meet Tony himself. Truly recommend this place for a unique PV experience!!!

Found this place before coming to Puerto Vallarta and came in on a Sunday night when it was very quite. Live menu was presented on a platter and we chose entire platter. We were not disappointed. Everything was soooo good! A little backstory: we came with three kids, picky eaters, allergists. Everyone had something that they absolutely loved. More than that the service was top notch. Owner and waiter (owners nephew) treated us like family. They let kids wear the sombrero they had and took pictures of us for memories. A couple of days later, Caesar and Porfirio took us to their second family restaurant on a secluded beach. Food there is just as amazing! Everyone loved their guacamole, fried fish and octopus. I can go on and on but better come and check it out yourself. This is the real Puerto Vallarta experience that will be very missed.

We had a late lunch at La Choza, and must say that the service was 110%. We had a party of 8 and we tried almost all their dishes. From different shrimps, fried fish, steak and lobster. The food was delicious and the attention to detail was spectacular. The Staff was very welcoming and attentive to our every need. We met Tony the owner and his son Tony, they were very easy to talk too and we stayed a little longer to get other restaurant recommendations in Vallarta, Bucerias and Suyelita. Would definitely return!

This place is a hidden gem off the beaten path. My wife and I enjoyed a great dinner and drinks after a fun day in Mismaloya. The owner and staff are great. It was cash only, but the owners son gave me a ride to the atm and back. Really great experience and can't wait to go back.

We had planned to eat elsewhere but found restaurant was closed so we had taxi take us here. It is so unassuming on the exterior I wasn't sure it was correct when dropped off. Once we went to third level we found a very nice eating area. The service was as top notch and the food even better. We didn't know really want to expect but loved that their menu was just a big platter showing you the fresh catches of the day. Hubby had mahi mahi, I had the shrimp combo with three types of shrimp. Kids were a bit less adventurous with the chicken and they did have a quesadilla option for our daughter. The chips and guacamole and salsa were perfect! Everything was so delicious and completely unexpected based on location but amazing! We are here for a bit so we will go back again. Lobster for the next trip and filet. Cash only. They did call a taxi for us when we were done.

What a hidden gem! LITERALLY. You can't drive through here and not have a sunset dinner at this place. It's like no other. Third-floor balcony, tables over sand, hidden dirt road alley way, It's a gem. The waiters are all dressed in white. The music is contemporary modern, and the menu is a plate of the fresh-caught food of the day. You just point what you want and let's roll. ONLY CASH. That's the only reason I don't leave 5 stars. Very well priced. We ordered the whole fish grilled and the coconut shrimp. OH MY SWEET MISMALOYA! the shrimp was exquisite. BE READY TO WAIT for your meal, it takes some time. They are cooking it soo fresh and there are only two ladies in the kitchen. I can't wait when we go back to dine here again.

My wife and daughters stopped in for lunch on Tuesday afternoon and it was absolutely terrific. It was early and we were the first group of the day but the attention from the owner/manager was amazing. The food was great and very fresh....they even accommodated our young ones with some quesadillas. The margaritas were excellent and so was the coconut shrimp! We cannot say enough great things about this place!

Everything started off great, but then as the evening went on things really turned sour and disappointing! We were offered a table on the beach. When we sat down, there were people using the public part, which is totally ok, but many of them were smoking marijuana, which was a factor that also ruined our experience. My children do not need to be around that when dining. If the restaurant knows the beach crowd is rowdy that's fine! Just warn us! Then as the night went on, a man and woman started fighting and wound up ripping each others clothes off. I and a few other attendees had to be the ones to get involved! No police presence at all. We did not finish our meal as it felt unsafe when they were fighting. We left our steaks and drinks half finished. There was no offer of a partial refund at all. "Oh that's a public part of the beach" is all they could say. What a waste. My children were exposed to this, we did not finish our food or drinks, and still had to pay the full $300 tab. Aside from this, the food was OKOKOK. MID-tier at best! Steak ($1,100 pesos) was tough. Tuna Poke was a terrible attempt and not tender at all. Oysters were extremely salty (not handled properly). AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Server was cool, and funny, he gets the 1 star, but management is terrible and unfriendly. Refuse to accept accountability or to offer ways to make amends. GO ELSEWHERE!

Our condo rental included a complimentary breakfast voucher good at El Dorado for each day of our stay. The breakfast and location on the beach is a perfect way to kick-off the morning. Also, I have to give a huge shout-out to the manager of the restaurant. He's amazing and always greets us with a smile and kind words. When we arrived toward the end of breakfast service today, they weren't able to accommodate us due to a large party they were setting up for. Rather than turn us away, the manager walked us to the restaurant next door and asked them to honor our vouchers. Now that's how you do it!. Stellar service!! We keep coming back here year after year and can highly recommend El Dorado!

Located just a short walk from our Airbnb, it's perfectly placed for a relaxed dinner after a day of exploring. The room on the second floor was air-conditioned -- a godsend in June's heat -- and made the whole experience far more comfortable. The setting feels casual but thoughtfully executed, with attentive service that never felt intrusive. Drinks: the Tamarind Margarita is a must-order. Tangy, balanced, and truly memorable -- one of the best cocktails we tried during our stay. Food: outstanding. The Tuna Chicharrón taco was superb -- honestly the best taco we had in two days in PV. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The Shrimp Ceviche tostadas were equally excellent: fresh, bright, and well composed. Service: Jesús was a standout. Friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable -- he made solid recommendations and kept the evening running smoothly. If you're nearby, do not miss this spot. Great food, fantastic cocktails, and comfortable indoor seating with AC make Tuna Azul an easy top pick in Puerto Vallarta.

We had multiple servers assisting us, and everyone was friendly and attentive. Given the logistical challenges of the restaurant, this may make the service seem slow. But people may not realize this is treated as a multi-course fine dining experience, so the courses are intentionally spaced out. Drinks were consistently refreshed, time was given to take sunset photos, and everything was presented and explained. The food and drinks were all phenomenal. We had two types of margaritas (Jamaica and Mango Passionfruit), and both were refreshing and sweet. The Bone Marrow appetizer was rich and hearty. The Confit Suckling Pig and Beef Filet were cooked to perfection. And the Memorias dessert was a unique mix of flavors. This is a meal experience not to be missed. It was seasonal well and melt in your mouth. The lobster tail was large and succulent. It was cooked well and not mushy. The shrimp were slightly charred and it brought out the flavor. To end, Pedro suggested the coconut tubi, which we tried. It did not disappoint. They also brought us an extra chocolate moussse heart for our anniversary, which was very thoughtful. They even brought out a heart balloon and put it on my wrist. The whole setting, the staff and the food made this night unforgettable. We loved every minute of our visit and would definitely return. I honestly could have ordered two. The house-made ricotta was creamy, the tomatoes were fresh and sweet, and the aged balsamic brought everything together perfectly. The grapefruit added a bright citrus note, and while I initially thought the candied pecans would be an odd pairing, they worked surprisingly well. My only suggestion would be to remove the shrimp tails to make the dish a little easier to enjoy. I finished with the mango-strawberry almond parfait, which was the perfect ending to the meal.
