Located outside of the city, Le Kliff offers a wonderful fine dining experience with an incredible setting. Perched on the side of a cliff, the sunset view was well worth the drive. We had multiple servers assisting us, and everyone was friendly and attentive. Given the logistical challenges of the restaurant, this may make the service seem slow. But people may not realize this is treated as a multi-course fine dining experience, so the courses are intentionally spaced out. Drinks were consistently refreshed, time was given to take sunset photos, and everything was presented and explained. The food and drinks were all phenomenal. We had two types of margaritas (Jamaica and Mango Passionfruit), and both were refreshing and sweet. The Bone Marrow appetizer was rich and hearty. The Confit Suckling Pig and Beef Filet were cooked to perfection. And the Memorias dessert was a unique mix of flavors. This is a meal experience not to be missed. First off, the venue is worth the trip. The views are stunning at sunset. We were greeted warmly as soon as we arrived. We told them it was our anniversary and they made us feel special the whole night. Pedro, our server was friendly and fun. He and the others never let our glasses get empty and he checked on us continuously. He suggested the ribeye for two and told us not to order any more food as it would be enough. We took his word for it and we were so glad we did. First there was a tiny side salad dressed perfectly. The steak was done at the exact temp we requested. It was seasonal well and melt in your mouth. The lobster tail was large and succulent. It was cooked well and not mushy. The shrimp were slightly charred and it brought out the flavor. The dish came with chimichurri sauce and fresh guacamole and a side of asparagus. The flavors were on point for every single item on this platter. To end, Pedro suggested the coconut tubi, which we tried. It did not disappoint. They also brought us an extra chocolate moussse heart for our anniversary, which was very thoughtful. They even brought out a heart balloon and put it on my wrist. The whole setting, the staff and the food made this night unforgettable. We loved every minute of our visit and would definitely return. Would not recommend for those that can't walk a couple flights of stairs but if you can the view is worst it. What a fantastic setting for our final dinner in Puerto Vallarta! The staff were amazing, so knowledgeable about all the dishes we tried. The margaritas were the best in PV on this trip. From the second we walked in, the experience was top-notch. The hostess, Cynthia, greeted us with such a warm smile and sat us right away with the most stunning ocean view. The scenery was honestly breathtaking, it felt like something out of a movie! We ordered the Tomahawk steak and lobster tails, and wow, they were both cooked to absolute perfection. Slow for amazing food, no problem. But we didn't get amazing food. My wife's Chilean Sea Bass was as tough as meat. They were kind enough to remake it, same result. My food was cold the first time, but better the 2nd. I'm not exaggerating when I say the first attempt at serving the food was 2 hours after we day down. The excuse was that the kitchen was far. We had about 5 peaky bees that wouldn't leave us alone. Kept trying to land in our drinks. My wife is terrified of bees so we moved to a table with a less appealing view. They knew about the bee problem, told us they would leave after sunset, but it would have been nice to have something to counter them in the first place. We spoke to the manager several times throughout the evening, and as I said the staff was friendly, but the manager only removed the sea bass from our bill for all of our trouble. Came here from a recommendation from a friend, not only is this place beautiful but they really go out of their way to make you feel special. The night we went someone actually gotten engaged and they went all out on the decorating and planning.(kinda jealous). The drinks were amazing. I had the passionfruit margarita first and then the cucumber margarita after. If I could drink the cucumber, margarita by the gallon, I would. We had high expectations for Le Kliff based on the reviews and our taxi driver recommendation. They were undergoing reconstruction, which was not apart of the reason for the rating, it's just something to note. We were coming from Villa Lala, a boutique hotel 5min walking distance from Le Kliff. Our concierge was able to make the reservation for us that day at 6p, which was great. Service: At Le Kill, the service was most attentive, but I would say too much. Because of the limited balconies open, they had about 10+ waiters for 3-4 tables (ranging in 2-6 people per table. For a two person table, it felt like you were being watched. Food: The food was good. We ordered the meat tapas, catch of the day, wood fire shrimp, and dessert of the apple tart. They never explained what the tapas were once arrived, but all were good. There was a Taquito-like one, and a taco ones. The were two other that I don't even know the names. The catch of the day was a red snapper fish covered with pistachios with passion fruit sauce. As much as I wanted to like it, it was just ok. However, what has me day dreaming is the wood fire shrimp and the apple tart. The shrimp were just great from massive in size to great flavor. The apple tart was a new item swapped on the menu. Oh, so good. Drinks: they definitely push the "expensive" home tequila drinks. My husband got the cucumber margarita based on the reviews being so positive (which had the house tequila), but it was standard. I got the mango margarita - standard. Nothing above average. I actually think the drinks at Villi Lala are better and cheaper. Payment: they accept credit cards or cash. Easy enough either way. We did credit cards they asked us what percentage to add on to the bill, so it was added immediately. Attire: although they say no flip flops, sleeveless shirts, etc, most people came in their vacation attire. I'm sure they wanted people in nicer attire, but between vacation and weather being humid, I wouldn't expect it. We came in vacation wear. Me in a tank top dress with slip ons, and my husband in a cotton shirt, shorts and closed toe shoes. Weather: because it's raining season, there were these bugs that were attracted to the palm trees. Insane amounts. There was one couple that left after getting seated because it was too much. The waiters did what they could for it with using fans blowing on everyone. Otherwise, weather was overcast - not apart of the overall rating, just for reference. Location: the view is great. You're overlooking the ocean and have Mountain View's. The food, services and ambulance was amazing! This restaurant is fantastic to celebrate any occasion or just have a romantic dinner in Puerto Vallarta. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. One of the waiters held an umbrella to escort me to the bathroom area. They are currently adding onto the restaurant and I can't wait to come back and see the finished product. In addition to the photos pictured, we had an apple salad as a starter and it was excellent and I would highly recommend. The food was delicious but I will say when it came to service they really try to push the most expensive things without trying to understand your preferences. When asking about different types of alcohol, they seem to be focus more on the more higher end and when suggesting to get some thing a bit less expensive, they make you feel as if your choices are wrong and try to push other spirits instead of what you want. Hostess offered us an "extra special table" with a great view. We knew immediately there was a catch. She told us it's a special menus with two cocktails and a bottle of wine. When pressed she could not tell us what the wine was nor what the food was. We asked her the price. After a brief moment on the handheld she told us $500 US. We decided to sit in a perfectly wonderful table and order what we wanted. We are approached by our server and offered a good but pricey shot of tequila and then given a premium margarita menu with a price point of $27 US. We are from Chicago and thought that was excessive. We were then given a wine bottle menu. We were disappointed with the list. Clearly geared towards Americans. We own a wine bar and wanted to try local wines. When pressed the server bout out another wine menu that had both wines by the bottle and glass. Our server made a point to tell us this is their cheap wines, classy. We chose a Mexican white blend of Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Our server came back and let us know the only wine they are out of is the one we picked. We ordered a bottle of Albariño. The server came back with an Albariño but from the first wine list. We stopped her from opening the bottle and asked about the wine we ordered. She said they were out of that wine two. But this one is the same only better. We asked to see the wine list again. At this point we were ready to walk out. Forty plus years in the restaurant industry you're playing the wrong people. Amazingly enough she came back with the bottle we had ordered. The food portion of the dinner was very good. I had shrimp croquette in a white chocolate wine sauce with a peanut butter cream. It did not sound good to me but I was curious to see how the chef made this work. He did! The flavors and textures all came together and the meal was fantastic. My wife had the sea bass in a cream sauce. It was cooked perfectly and the dish was well balanced and seasoned. We also ordered asparagus and a loaded potato. Both were fine but just slightly undercooked. Overall the view is great and the food was good, especially the entrees, but the whole experience was cheapened by the constant tacky upsell methods that they push on the dinner. Views are incredible of course, I love how it feels like an adult's playground. So many nooks and crannys, spots to explore and take pictures. It's kinda funny how dangerous this place is, maybe it makes the food taste better. You can swing over the edge into rocks below or climb metal steps with huge gaps in between! Pro tip: Taxis cost about the same as uber/indriver each way. So get a taxi there if you can because in general, they seem to know how to shift gears better. I swear, everytime I get into a rideshare here, they shift from 1st to 2nd gear so clunky all the time- super nauseating. Especially on the road too here which has many twists, turns and potholes. Trust me, you'll wish you had a good driver. Now onto the food, highly recommend: Steak and potatoes: Some of the best mashed potatoes I ever had, so creamy and buttery Molten lava cake: Melts in your mouth, great nutty and spicy ice cream We also tried other stuff which was good but they weren't the star of the show/life changing. The only cons which went away pretty quick after eating food was in the beginning, they try to upsell you to the fancier chef's table for $10k pesos. And we were first sat at this table right in front of a huge mirror which reflected the sun back at us so was super bright and hot. We asked to switch tables. So another pro tip: bring sunglasses. Great views, excellent service, and delicious food! My best friend's brother and partner introduced us to this amazing restaurant on the side of the cliff, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Ignoring all the tacky Instagram props everywhere this restaurant is so neat -- even the hand-washing station outside the restrooms is beautiful. The service was excellent and we were waited on by about 4-5 servers at any given time. The food came out in a timely manner and we enjoyed the sunset followed by visits by the cute animals that live on the property. They have two coatis and a cute cat that are the restaurant pets. Don't worry, they are all super friendly! All of the food was top-notch as were the drinks. The four of us had a really good time here and we left satiated. The first time the steak came out there was no pink or red in the meat, completely well done. We sent back the steak but they left the sides and lobster tail which was supposed to go with the steak. By the time the new steak came out which is pictured here our sides were already cold as well as the shrimp we ordered. The steak they brought the second time came out rare. We spent $600 for a party of four but I blame that on my hubby's fancy tequila choices. I am pretty certain that his two drinks were half of the bill. Just be aware that the tequila suggestions are going to cost you a pretty penny. (There is no menu so you just have to trust the waiter that he won't rip you off.) Highly recommend looking at the menu online *before* you consider coming to this place so you can see they are trying to provide a up-scale fine dining experience -- they just aren't quite there yet. The food was decent and the view is very pretty but for $155/person (two drinks, appetizer, main course, and shared dessert) they should be knocking our socks off. The fish was dry. The carrots were undercooked. The passionfruit martini was almost pure fruit juice. Some of the food was pretty good but the rest was just okay but certainly not worth $155/person. At these prices, you would expect the place to have at least a Michelin star or two. On top of the inflated prices, the waiter really set the wrong tone by aggressively pushing their overpriced premium menus and hiding the prices of other drinks. He did not give us the full menu when we asked for it and instead, kept giving us different premium menus. First, he only gave us the "premium margaritas", which were 465 pesos ($27) each. He then only gave us the "premium wine" list, the cheapest of which is 1,950 pesos ($115) for the bottle. We asked for another wine menu but he said "those are all our wines" until we grabbed another waiter and got the "wine by the glass" menu. We also realized they were not giving us the full menu, which we all had to download online. What a unique and special restaurant in PV. The building and views are show stopping from start to finish everywhere you turn. The prices here are much more expensive than what you might have grown accustomed to elsewhere in PV but the food and atmosphere are worth it. The servers are very helpful and attentive. As others have mentioned they will definitely try to up sell you, but the way I see it - I didn't come here for a cheap night out. The margaritas are beautiful and delicious but I didn't like feeling like I was being forced to order one. Our food was outstanding. I loved the apple salad with sorbet and the steak was very good... although so filling we couldn't possibly get dessert.
