I need a balance of technique and fun and they deliver! I have had the esteemed pleasure of working with and competing with many of the instructors, I've learned a multitude of dances, had incredible support and the most fun I've had pretty much anywhere. Dance itself can be almost addictive once you jump in and boy what better place to get those endorphins in while learning than at a place like this? I went from knowing virtually nothing and feeling very overwhelmed (in a good way) about any partner style dance, (I also didn't have a background in other forms of dance) and threw myself in entirely to then be at my first salsa competition a year later. I'm so glad I made that investment. I've warned lifelong friends and memories. They have knowledgeable teachers, kind staff, a wonderful space and always something fun going on. I have worked with the owner, Raul, the amazing Artem, the show stopping Yesenia, the bubbly Deana, the sassy Jackie and many others during my time there. Every dance class I took as a young girl was about showing off and doing competitions and leading up to drill team try outs. I hated that pressure when dance was just supposed to be something I wanted to do for fun and didn't feel I was good enough to do seriously anyway. For years I told people I would encounter that I missed dance but didn't want to venture to any place that would end up feeling like I was at Millenium. I just wanted a fun class where I wouldn't worry people were judging what I wore or that I might be behind a count or not nailing one particular step. Enter Reclaim. Drea leads class with a confidence, a patience & open ear, and a gentleness. I don't always find myself getting steps easily and her method of teaching is easy to follow, but she will always help if you have questions. I love that our music choices even in warm ups are female Artists to add to the empowerment of it being a females only class. Separately from that, as someone who has PTSD and a few other disorders, I find her encouragement within these classes to embrace our bodies for all their imperfections and flaws, to let go of the trauma of past events, and the overflow of love among classmates (most of whom are strangers with a common bond) a combination of everything I had been searching for in a dance class. I feel safe here. I feel recharged here. I have fun here. And I'm genuinely saddened when I have to miss a class. What are you waiting for? Reclaim!

I feel like this is awesome and allows for such a wide selection of classes. I also feel that the instructors I have experienced are extremely knowledgeable and talented! There is plenty of street parking all day in the surrounding streets. And it feels safe, even at night. I will most likely continue to have this studio in my rotation and I am looking forward to taking other instructors. Additionally, the desk staff was super kind and helpful the first time I visited. Poles and additional items are standard to other studios. One thing to note though, is that there are some classes that get booked super early in advance so you may have to wait about 1-2 months to find an opening.

Click on "faculty and staff." You'll see nobody listed because practically all their staff have quit. It's a toxic environment where the directors and teachers treat dancers with disdain. They make comments on what the young girls are eating (that's a major red flag at a dance studio). It's a very sad decline. They used to put on a production of the Nutcracker at the Alex Theater in Glendale. It was glorious. That was before Covid. Now they put on a small family only production in a little theater in Northridge. They used to have many dancers winning competitions. Now they barely have anyone even qualified to enter competitions. It's a very sad state of affairs with many dancers going to much better, growing dance studios in the area. I'd be surprised if LABA is still operating later this year. So sad to see it fall from grace. I guess all good things come to an end.

I'm always really excited for class here and am really getting into ballet! Note that absolutely EVERYONE gets lost coming here, you're not alone! Located within the LADA, Los Angeles Dance Academy. The phone number provided (tel:323-424-7822) is the general ALIGN phone number and they're not always available there. The LADA location phone number is 818-903-1463, and might be the best bet to call when lost. Plan on getting here 15-30 min ahead of time, because you'll probably have trouble finding it anyway. Don't bother asking the Cost Plus/World Market, as they'll respond "What dance studio?" When you're parking, you'll want to look for the Cost Plus World Market store. That's the plaza you want. It will also include the Union Bank and Krav Maga studio. But just focus on the World Market. You may need to circle around the block a few times until you see the entrance. It's a typical "take a ticket, pay later" lot. But if you're there for the 8pm class, it doesn't matter. It's free. Yes you can park right in next to the World Market. Or you can park in the large parking structure nearby. It's all fine and it's all in the same exact lot. The hardest part is actually walking to the studio from there. I included step by step photos of my personal route from my car. But if you get lost and can't get the studio on the phone, the only business you can walk into and ask is the Krav Maga studio. They are the only ones that know that a dance studio exists nearby them. If you're coming the same route I am it's; 1) Park in the World Market lot or the parking structure. Get out and turn around until World Market is behind you. 2) Look for the parking STRUCTURE and walk towards it (if not already there) 3) With the parking structure on your right, keep walking straight down the alley-like road until you reach the tiny stairway down. 4) Stop and look ahead of you. There is a tiny door that says LADA on it. That is your destination. Notice you have to leap the stairs and/or the fence to just cross straight ahead to it. So maybe don't do that :) 5) Look to the right of the door until you see another one of those ticket booth/arms by the sidewalk. It's probably closed. 6) You'll need to curve around the fence and around the ticket booth to get to the door. Reference my attach pictures, but look for my NUMBERED STEPS, since the photos can display out of order on some browser views Godspeed on your quest, brave adventurer!
