    $0.75 cent tacos!
    Youri Y.

La Cocina was not very rica as I thought it would be. I actually wanted to try Tacos La Costa but they were closed still for the holidays :( I ordered 5 tacos at $0.75 cents each and had the carne asada, carnitas, buche, al pastor and cabeza. I couldn't tell which was which but they tasted okay to not that good. One of them left a weird taste in my mouth :( I didn't get a lot of meat in the tacos either and tasted more of their handmade tortillas. I knew $0.75 cents a taco was too good to be true lol The food did come out fast and the cashier lady was nice but I would probably not come back again sorry :(

    The tacos were really delicious!!

I was across the street at the dmv and my taste buds were craving tacos and some frijoles(beans), I was walking I saw this place next to some tortas that looked great too, but as I walked in I saw that it was empty no clients or nothing, but it looked very peaceful to just rest and enjoy a meal. So I decided to give this place a try! Service: Its not a restaurant where you sit and they come take your order its a pay first then sit down, the elderly lady had a tone in which was rude, didn't enjoy that, and some tables needed to be wiped down really bad and she was knitting. Food: Enchiladas and beans and rice. reminded me of my house food , never getting that again haha, but the tacos were really delicious! Overall good food , but not to be back though

    Carna Adasa tacos with everything.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Oxnard when I have a taco craving. Im not sure about everything else, but the tacos are the best. If you go, get the Carne Asada tacos with everything. It's the lady's salsa that makes each taco so juicy and flavorful. If you ordered exactly as I said, you won't be dissappointed at all. Ona side note, my lady ordered the fried fish (I believe the plate is called Mojita Frita) and she loved it. Any other food you order will just be like any other restaurant.

They only take cash but it's my favorite lowkey spot. Tortillas are always fresh and good quality meat

Was very good. Pleasant place to visit. Would go there again and maybe try their chile relleno burrito. I had the Asada platter this time.

With that being said, I wanted to try it out. This was about 2 years ago prior to this visit I had today at this location. I jotted the note down after overhearing him talking about it while watching Netflix. When arriving, the environment outside is run down, old fashioned and in the scary graffiti, homeless surrounding. Parking is difficult to find, but we got lucky me and a colleague. The place is on a road side where parking it located a few streets between about 100 feet away. The surrounding had graffiti and loitering which was unpleasant and I would imagine it is worse at night, be careful here! Inside, a wonderful aroma excites you as you enter the restaurant. Booths all around and hard uncomfortable seats. A lot of people came here today on Sunday afternoon. Customer service was excellent, the guy at the front was very chill, polite and acted as if I was his homie, buddy or good friend. This is what I like. I ordered the birria of course, a meat drenched in a bunch of flavors for days to keep the meat juicy, tender and moist. The variations ordered were three tacos plate with birria, onions cilantro and a consome that was massive. This meal was $17. The other order was a four piece birria quesadilla that was absolutely delightful, succulent and had a delicious hunger craving aroma and flavor that any starving or hungry person would die for! This plate was $14. The tacos did come with beans and rice. Between the two dishes the birria quesadilla was my favorite however, the tacos tasted better. The tortilla of the tacos was fresh and made with love. The value was regular, something I expected compared to taco trucks and side vendors of Mexican food. This place is extraordinary. I felt guilty after consumption because it was fatty, juicy and everything you would want in a pleasurable meal, but it was heavy on the calories and filling. It was a messy meal, I added salsas, more seasoning from the condiments bar. There were so many different sauces and fillings like lemon etc. to balance the flavors of the birria. The console incuded was an added kick that I loved. Definitely one of the best if not the best birria I ever had and I highly recommend this place if you like Mexican cuisine at its finest. An absolute hidden treasure that you need to try! I'll come back after a month of consistent cardio and strength training to burn enough fat and make room for another appetite that soothes my brain cells.

Place isn't too big inside and it was packed when we went on a Saturday afternoon. I was for sure going to get the nachos and tacos but wanted more. Jesus was kind enough to recommend the grilled cheese and burrito. Both were great recs and delish! I mean I thought about the grilled cheese and burrito days after. The horchata was creamy and you could tell it was made in house. This place is delish, no notes.

I went there for lunch on a weekday, and I was pretty pleased with the service and food. The woman at the counter did speak English so that's always feels more comfortable, especially if you have any special requests. They have an open kitchen where they assemble orders, and the cook was rather friendly. I ordered a roasted pork burrito (I can't remember the name, but it's not carnitas). The meat was tender and tasted like it was slow cooked. The tortilla is not anything special, but all the fillings (rice, beans) were good. There is larger rice than beans ratio, but they give plenty of meat protein. I have been here several times in the past. I remember totally ratchet seating areas, where there were large holes in the floor. There seems to be some updates and the seating area is cleaned up (but I've only done takeout). They now also accept credit cards. For a low cost burrito, this is satisfying. Most burritos are ~ 10.
