Very disappointed in La Collina. We ALWAYS wanted to go here because we love italian and it looked awesome on the hill overlooking Manayunk. We booked reservations for our wedding anniversary here. I specifically asked for a window overlook view seat. This was not granted and we were placed in the back room by the bar. Service was poor. We spent 2 and a half hours at this restaurant mostly waiting for the food to come out and the server to bring us our check. I don't believe the server came back for drink refills until after we were done with out meals. The serving sizes like stated in other reviews are very poor for the price you pay. For 2 to eat here you are pushing 100 easily. I got the chicken parm and pretty sure there was a out 12-15 noodles with it. My wife did enjoy her seafood pasta with scallops, but the price outweighed the amount for sure. Overall I had high expectations for this place and it let us down big time. Hopefully they continue to improve so we can give it another chance.

I finally had the chance to visit La Collina and I really enjoyed myself. I ordered the caesar salad, lobster ravioli, and a cannoli for dessert. Everything was delicious (including the bread service) and the wait staff were kind and attentive. The only part I didn't enjoy was the valet. I prefer to self-park and I didn't realize there was street parking up the road. I thought my only option was to valet, but you actually don't have to!

Finally visited this restaurant on a hill. It is pretty close to my place so thought it was fine time to check it out. The parking lot here is always crowded with the fanciest cars. They have a valet service in their tiny little parking lot. The restaurant has a beautiful view of Manayunk. It also has a patio, unfortunately it was only open for the summer. This didn't make any sense to me because part of the reason I wanted to check it out was for their outdoor seating and the weather currently was pretty good. The place inside was pretty romantic (seemed like a lot of dates went there). The other room had a big bar as well. We ended up taking our order to go. I got the eggplant rolatini and risotto frutti di mare. The sauce on the rolatini was delicious. The rolatini that had the eggplant and spinach was average in my opinion. The risotto frutti di mare was ok as well. It had no so great cooked risotto with some seafood. Mostly the seafood consisted of clams in the shell, mussels with shell, and barely any shrimp. I guess this mix is similar to what I see in Italy. This, however, was very disappointing because I was hoping for more shrimp and not to worry about de shelling my food.

The ambiance was wonderful with the location and view of the restaurant. The service was friendly but very slow for the food and drink refill. The food was delicious!!

La Collina creates a lovely atmosphere for a night out on a special occasion. Overlooking the Schuylkill river you get a beautiful view and creates a special evening. They only offer valet parking so parking can be a little tricky. Overall the food was really delicious and I feel you get that true Italian feel and cuisine to the place. The service was a bit of a miss in my opinion. It felt a little lacking and could have been better. Overall they a nice atmosphere to spend for a special occasion.

Read as 3.5 stars. Was unsure what to expect since reviews seem to range across the board but I left pretty happy with overall experience. We were a party of 6 with reservations and were seated immediately. The crab cake bites and beet salad were solid, I would skip the calamari (cold) and eggplant rollatini (spinach was used as a heavy filler). The seafood pasta special was a hit at the table. The rest of the dishes were pretty good. Service was friendly and attentive. Valet parking.

Absolutely delightful. From the kind man working the valet, our sweet servers, the yummy food, the romantic ambiance... everything was great! We celebrated a family member's birthday and we were seated near the front of the restaurant. I ordered an espresso martini and it was fabulous. One of the better I've had this last year. I shared a Caesar with a friend and then had the chicken marsala for my main dish. WOW! The best chicken marsala I've ever had, and I'm not blowing smoke. Great flavor, a decent portion, and the mushrooms were terrific. Cooked perfectly! The runners, our main server, and the rest of the staff were so helpful and accommodating. I need to return the next time I am in the area! Just an FYI for those who are older or have a hard time getting up... the toilets in the ladies restroom are quite low. Just something to keep in mind!

I'm not sure why this place has so many bad reviews--I had a pretty nice experience here last night for my birthday. Parking The restaurant only offers valet parking, which feels a bit outdated. There's no ticketing system--just a guy who takes your car and has apparently been doing it for 20 years. While it worked fine, it felt a little informal for a place at this price point. Food I ordered the filet, and it was pretty good--flavorful but a little dry. The calamari was just okay; it could've been cooked more. Overall, the food was tasty, but nothing extraordinary. Service The service was decent, but for the price, I expected more attention to detail. For example, our server forgot who ordered which drink. At a high-end restaurant, small details like that matter, and when you're paying a premium, the experience should reflect that. Value This is where the restaurant falls short. The food and service were good, but not exceptional enough to justify the high prices. When a restaurant sets premium pricing, it also sets certain expectations, and in this case, those expectations weren't fully met. Final Thoughts Overall, I had a good meal and a decent experience, but I wouldn't say it was worth the price. The food was tasty, the service was fine, but for what you're paying, I expected better. By the way, they make their own gelato and it was absolutely out of this world delicious.

First, let's talk parking. Parking in Manayunk is always a challenge, especially during the summer months. There are paid parking lots further down that I would highly recommend using because street parking can be difficult to find. We made a reservation ahead of time, and I definitely recommend doing that through OpenTable. When we arrived, it was a little warm inside, and I immediately noticed it. Thankfully, I always carry a fan with me, so it wasn't a big issue. Now let's get to the real reason for this review Ali!!!! When I tell you Ali was amazing, I mean AMAZING. Her personality, energy, attitude, and spirit made our entire dining experience. She was funny, knowledgeable, attentive, accommodating, and had excellent recommendations. Great service can turn a good meal into a great experience, and that's exactly what she did. We started with the cheesesteak rolls, which were served with a spicy ketchup. They were good and had great flavor. Next was the calamari, which was absolutely delicious. It came with fried jalapeños, and when you paired a piece of calamari with a jalapeño and dipped it in the sauce, it was perfection!!! We also ordered the mussels, and if you're a garlic lover, these are a must order. They were loaded with garlic and butter sauce served with crusty bread perfect for soaking up the broth. I did take away and they dumped my bread into the sauce so it was soggy. Suggesting, give fresh bread on takeaways wrapped separate. Best of all, almost every shell actually had a mussel in it which unfortunately isn't always the case at some restaurants. They were fresh, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the night. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we couldn't pass up the special: three tacos and a margarita for $18. You do have to choose one protein for all three tacos; you can't mix and match. I chose shrimp, and my son chose chicken. The shrimp tacos were absolutely delicious. There wasn't a lot on them, but the flavor was incredible. You could taste the fresh corn tortilla, and the shrimp were juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My son enjoyed the chicken tacos, although I personally thought the chicken was a little dry. One thing I absolutely loved was learning that the food is fresh and locally sourced. Ali explained that they don't use microwaves, and you can definitely taste the difference. For drinks, I ordered a strawberry pineapple margarita. There was a small mix-up with the strawberry, but Ali immediately fixed it and brought me strawberry syrup to make it right. Problem solved! The margaritas were delicious and STRONG, which is exactly what I like. Overall, my favorite items were the shrimp tacos, the mussels, and the margaritas. The food was great, the atmosphere was fun, and the service was outstanding!!! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we're already planning to come back for brunch and try the mimosa tower. If you visit, ask for Ali. You won't regret it!! She made an already great meal even better. We'll definitely be back!

Service was good for the most part and the food was ok. The main reason for the low rating is because as we were eating a mouse runs out from the kitchen and we brought it to the attention of the staff who took about 10 minutes to catch the mouse. Now no one from the staff apologized for the rodent issue so I'm assuming that this is a common occurrence. None of the staff seemed bothered by the situation to let their manager know and no one offered us a discount due to that scene that just transpired in front of us. So my sister and her family who live here in Philly as well as my wife and I will not be eating here again.
