I had such an amazing first experience at My Sweet Valentine today! I had seen the bakery when they…read morehad their grand opening and had been meaning to stop in, and I'm so glad I finally did. I walked in looking for just one or two cupcakes because I was on my way to pick up my son from school for his birthday. My heart honestly dropped when I realized they didn't have cupcakes available because I thought, "Oh no, now I have to make another stop." The gentleman helping me was SO kind. When I told him I only needed one for my birthday boy, he said, "Let me check what I have in the back." A few minutes later, he came out with the cutest little cupcake, beautifully decorated and boxed up with a sparkly Happy Birthday topper. He absolutely did not have to go out of his way to do that, but that small act of kindness completely made my day and is going to make my little boy feel so special when I pick him up from school. And of course I couldn't leave without getting something else, so I grabbed some Biscotti banana pudding for my husband because it's his favorite! The bakery itself is adorable, but the kindness and customer service are what will absolutely bring me back. Ray turned what could have been a quick "sorry, we don't have any" into such a sweet little birthday moment for my son. He even surprised me with a fresh chocolate cookie and sprinkle cookie and sent me off with "Have a sweet day." Such a small act of kindness, but after the morning I'd had, it meant more than he could have known. Thank you so much. You have definitely gained a new customer.

I tried their cinnamon rolls (delicious), biscoff cheesecake (amazing and I'm not a huge fan of…read morebiscoff cookies), and the banana less pudding (wish I got more)! Staff were really kind! They offer complimentary coffee with a purchase - if I heard right. I didn't take it because I had to stay awake. They have a large parking lot, right next to the 91 freeway.

Location has been upgraded, variety increased, service just as personal as before. I asked what's new as I know they adapt to each season & customers' suggestions. I had rosca de reyes in January, heart-shaped pan dulce in February, & always want to be surprised with what's next. Today I almost got two of everything to bring home & share at work tomorrow. I'm extremely happy they have found a brick and mortar spot, because the at home bakery was getting a little wild. If you're curious about this mom and pop bakery, they create delicious traditional pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), all artisanal, meaning it's all made by hand and with quality ingredients. They've been mentioned and written about on Telemundo, LA eater, La Opinion, even food influencers have been in. Yes, their bread is that good. You might say they don't have a various amount of selection, okay fine, I get your point, BUT you need to take into account that this bread is HAND MADE! and yes, EVERYDAY. This isn't your typical standardized pan dulce either, it's curated from a small pueblo in Copala Mexico, that the owner has spent all her life crafting to get the flavors right. Some breads have unique names such as gusanitos, niños, and borrachos-- but don't let the wacky names fool you, they are absolutely packing in flavor. They also have delicious fried arroz con leche and delicious oven baked camote morado empanadas, and they sell out FAST! If you are in the mood to try some traditional sweet bread from Copala, please come check out this mom and pop panaderia out! The staff is friendly and so welcoming. It's what the culture's feeling. Please support small businesses:) P.S -- they also ship all over the United States. Call or send them a message for the details.
