Top shelf margarita and complimentary chips/salsa
    Daniel G.

I stopped in to have a quick lunch during a work trip and was not disappointed. The restaurant was not very busy and the server was both kind and efficient. The margarita was great and, although I usually like chunky salsas, their's was smooth and extremely flavorful. I also enjoyed the tacos. The shrimp was better than the fish but they were both good and the cabbage added a great crunch to the tacos. The only negative I had was that the rice and beans could have used a bit more seasoning, but I could have caught then on an off day. Overall it was a really good dining experience!!

Loved my meal! Had the combo with one beef and one chicken enchilada, and a brisket taco. The sour cream sauce on the chicken enchilada was so good! Loved the freshness of the Texas caviar as one of my sides! My server, Ingryd, was so kind and helpful! The music was just the right volume and the decor was so fun. Would definitely recommend!

Guacamole was soo good and those margaritas are on point!!

Thank you so much for having vegan options! My non vegan husband enjoyed his meal as well! Food and drinks were amazing and the owner was so friendly and generous. Definitely be back, maybe tomorrow! Haha margaritas are on point t!!

La Comida happy hour advertisement on their website

Beautifully decorated for Christmas! I wanted to love this restaurant, but did not and won't return. My friend and I with her child and mom arrived just before 3pm Sunday. According to their website, there was happy hour and live music from 3-6 with $7 margaritas. I proactively mentioned happy hour and when the server seemed confused, I showed him the advertisement on their website. Soon after, the manager/owner walked over and said they had no live music that day. I asked about the $7 happy hour price for margaritas, and he responded they were not offering that either. False advertising is not good business. The food was ok, not great. The street tacos did not come with limes which is unusual. The elote and rice tasted freshly made. The tortillas tasted store bought. Service was bad. Our server was friendly, but very inattentive and forgetful. We had to remind him 3 times that we ordered Blanco queso before we got it, and it was only moderately warm, not hot. We got our entrees way before the Blanco queso appetizer. Our server never asked us how our food was or if he could get us anything except for offering soda drink refills shortly before we left. When I was leaving, another manager/owner asked how everything was. I was honest and started to tell him about my experience. Both he and the manager/owner who visited our table at the beginning were very defensive and aggressive saying the Sunday happy hour was only one particular Sunday and he already told me that. They aggressively asked what they could do about it. In my mind, it was too late for offering a $7 margarita or a refund. Because he asked, I simply was trying to be honest and offer constructive criticism to remove the happy hour advertisement from their website or honor the happy hour prices on it, but they angrily told me to leave a bad review - that will actually help their business. Their aggressive, angry words really left a bad taste in my mouth.

La Comida is everything you want in a local mexican restaurant. Great food, great service and an even better atmosphere! The owners, Mario and Ivan, are the cherries on top of this Oak Cliff gem.

Fish tacos with Mexican rice and refried beans

All of the tacos had great flavor and were a good portion. We both had plenty of food to take home. Our server was new and still learning the menu, but was able to answer our questions. They close the kitchen pretty early, but the bar stays open later and I loved that they had the stars game playing. Our drinks were good, and the food had a lot of flavor and was well cooked. Happy to find a good Mexican food place in the neighborhood

This place is absolutely incredible! If you are in the mood for excellent Mexican food, customer service, and a great time out in Dallas, this place will not disappoint! Owners Mario & Ivan make it a point to connect and engage with each customer to ensure everything is up to par! Great vibes, music, and more ...come hungry, stay thirst, and be photo ready! Not only is the food a 10 out of 10, great place to take some nice photos while enjoying the moment! Salsa is fresh, chips are crunchy, and queso is think and creamy! Recommendations: Beef enchiladas or Breakfast Tacos served with rice & beans! Added pickled jalapeño for an extra kick! Cheers, enjoy, leave full and happy!

We came here two days in a row. And both times food and service were above average. The food is flavorful and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. In the ambience of the restaurant is very casual and fun. Their ranch water was great. Their brunch menu looks fantastic, and I can't wait to come back and try it. The owner stop by our table both visits and you can tell he genuinely cares about his patrons. I'm excited to see what this restaurant hasn't store for the future.

Chicken mole enchiladas come with black beans but changed them to refried beans.

I went for lunch with coworkers and daughter for a quick bite. Their food was delicious definitely coming back. The service was on point.

I especially appreciated the size of the menu- (no photos on it, green flag according to Gordon Ramsey) but also a good variety. Always shows they put a focus on quality into the select options they have. Above average service from our waiter Angel was also appreciated. They had run out of saltines to eat with my oysters, but offered a basket of fresh house made chips instead and I have to say- a creatively satisfying substitution. Honestly really great. The apps were the Aguachile which was the better of the two, and the other were the crab croquettes which were packed with crab but lacked in flavor. Of the entrees the blacked catfish was the better one. The only issue was the huge portion of mashed potatoes which were reminiscent of powered mash, but the catfish itself was outstanding. On the other side I've never had a lobster roll before but this genuinely has no flavor and has experienced some serious shrinkflation when compared to other pictures here on yelp of it. The fries were great though. The dessert also was nothing memorable and was a very basic bread pudding that could've been warmer. Overall, I was not impressed by Pesca as the reviews may have led me to believe, but it is still a solid place in trinity groves that deserves be more attention.

We made our reservation about a month in advance and had no issues at all with booking. The process was quick and easy. Leading up to our reservation, however, there was some confusion regarding the menu being served during our reserved time. After calling ahead, we were told there would be a children's menu available and that we could order from either the brunch or dinner menu. Unfortunately, once we were seated, we found that only the brunch menu was available. Since this was our first visit, several of us had already looked through the online menus and picked out dinner items we wanted to try, so it was disappointing to have to pivot, especially for those in our group who aren't really breakfast food people. Thankfully, we were still able to find dishes everyone enjoyed, and the food itself was exceptional. Standouts for our table included the dip (definitely add the crab!), the steak and eggs, and the Nashville chicken sandwich. We also ordered the oxtail hash, but it was a little too spicy for our mom due to the jerk seasoning, which wasn't clearly advertised on the menu. Thankfully, the issue was addressed quickly and professionally. The true highlight of our experience was the service. From the hostess to servers simply passing by our table, everyone was warm and friendly. Our server, Cooper, was absolutely fantastic. His smile, energy, and sense of urgency had us laughing because he practically ran to grab whatever we needed, yet never missed a beat. We had a few feral children in our group, and he handled them with so much patience and kindness, even entertaining their off-the-wall requests. It was also great seeing the manager actively walking the floor and checking on tables throughout service. This was our first visit, but based on the food and especially the hospitality, we will definitely be back, next time for dinner service!

No. But what has us coming back is their consistency and attention to detail. The space is gorgeous and each room brings a different vibe to the dining experience. We were sat in the darkest of the rooms that was very romantic, and thankfully the music wasn't too loud. When we were seated we found a frame on the table holding a message congratulations us on our anniversary, with our names included. It was very sweet! Our server was prompt, attentive, and very charming. She asked us questions about ourselves and also gave great recommendations throughout the night. The drinks were good! However, the Passionate Kiss started to taste very chemical forward the longer it sat (I'm a slow drinker) so I only finished half of it. Not sure if it was because of the print on the foam originally or what, but it wasn't pleasant. I got the scallops and loved them, especially since I was able to try their orzo with it that normally comes with the salmon instead. The scallops were tender and the flavor was rich and well balanced with the rest of the plate. My boyfriend loved his chops and devoured everything. He also got the Potatoes Au Gratin and couldn't get enough. They were very rich and had great flavor. I had previously seen reviews from others saying the potatoes and other dishes were bland but that was not our experience. The rolls were one of the best parts. I wish I could whip butter like that at home. Towards the end they brought us a couple of glasses of Prosecco to cheers with, and a complimentary dessert (the Samoa sundae). We also ordered the Chocolate Decadence which was incredibly good. The goal is to come back next year, and plenty of times before that as well. Thanks to the Evelyn team for such a great dinner!

I ordered the salmon cooked medium, but it arrived slightly overcooked. My husband requested a medium steak, but it came out medium rare in the center while somehow being medium well on the outside. The meatballs felt like they were missing something flavor-wise, though the calamari was good. The sides -- mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes -- were also a bit underwhelming. My daughter's lobster pasta was just okay as well. On a positive note, the service was solid and the Old Hollywood cocktail was perfection. I'm open to giving Evelyn another try because the atmosphere really is beautiful, but my husband has officially retired from future visits.
