Hidden Gem!!! Can't believe I haven't been here and Micheladas La Bajada has been open 6 months. The decor is simple but lively, the customer service excellent, Micheladas are superb, tacos are delicious! They also sell for very reasonable prices. The menu is very small, but for those of us who understand why Mexican food is so great: it's because in Mexico, the menus tend to be limited which allows for the opportunity to perfect recipes. I came in for lunch, and ordered the Michelada Preparada to go. It's called "preparada" because in addition to the drink, you also get snacks. The michelada was packaged in a reusable bottle full of flavor and ice. They gave me a separate container with 6 medium, extremely well seasoned shrimp (some of the best and freshest in Dallas) & cucumber slices with lime & Tajin. It was really a perfect little meal and drink combo. Came back with my daughter at night because they were going to have a live band. We got the 10 trompo tacos for $17, and two Modelos. No gimmicks. Buckets are $25, individual beers $5 which is good pricing for imported beer in this area. The tacos come with grilled onions, a couple of tiny potatoes, onion, cilantro, limes, grilled Serranos, and DELICIOUS green and red salsas...everything was EXCELLENT!!!! The live bands at 10 was loud but so much fun! Great casual spot, with excellent food, great people & vibes, and definitely reminded me of the good food we get when we visit Mexico.

Great food, very friendly staff and service and the music and music videos set the vibe and ambience for this very small hidden gem.

Ya know, I really wish I got the bartenders name. She was a gem of a bartender…read more We've been a few times at the tables but it was my birthday so we went in right at 3:00 and I ordered a house margarita and a miller lite. She asked if we wanted to order anything. I said I was curious about the seafood chowder. She said it is really good, so I ordered just a cup. Just to try it out. OMG! It was one of the best chowders I have ever had. It had everything wonderful in it. Potatoes, carrots minced, cod chunks, shrimp chunks, salmon chunks, and other vegetables. Also, in the $5.00 cup, it also had a mussel. All I can say is the next time we're there, I'm ordering a bowl as my meal! I've also tried their French onion soup and it's excellent. Our granddaughter orders the chicken tenders. They are so good that I would bet it would be very hard to find a place that served them better. They are SO good. Prices are extremely reasonable. The Old Monk is the place to be for a really good, satisfying meal. Plus their happy hour is fantastic.

But be prepared for your table to be ignored, drinks to be made incorrectly, and glassware to be dirty. I feel bad because I worked service industry for 10+ years, but after multiple meh to bad experiences, I decided it was time to share. Hopefully this location can get it together, but I think I'll be braving traffic for the Henderson location from now on.
