I cannot explain to you guys how good the place was. It was amazing the food was so well seasoned flavor was on point. The service was great it all ran by a family and everyone was friendly and giving us recommendations on what to get. The ambience is cool the place has its kitchen and a frutería in it as well where you can get food and special drinks like à tejuino must say bomb. Recently stayed at the Hilton Anatole and came here, as this is not too far from that hotel for some "authentic TX tacos." The place is very Mexican in style and authentic from that perspective. Service was great, the young girl you took my order spoke perfect English and was so very helpful! They have a nice, large menu loaded with many types of great things to eat! I opted for three tacos; pollo, carne, chorizo and all were excellent! The only thing I didn't like is that they came on corn tortillas, and in my opinion one of the things I love about TX tacos is that they make fresh, homemade flour tacos in the shops, but this place didn't. They did offer flour tortillas, but I was "defaulted" to corn. The tacos came with beans and rice and the beans were pretty good; they were refried style. The rice was good too. A true Dallas hidden gem! I've eaten here about 6 times and every item I've ordered has been spectacular. The crunchy tacos are a modern spin on Mexican street tacos. The fiesta corn with crushed hot Cheetos on top is super flavorful. The loaded fries portions were so big, two people couldn't finish it. La Rusa drink was topped with fresh fruit and in a huge styrofoam cup. The Mexican burger was one of the tastiest I've had with fresh avocado and salsa. The family that owns this shop is always so sweet and accommodating. I wish I could promote this 10000 times more because it's severely underrated. Had tacos de camarones, pulpo & carnitas, as well as some elotes. For the tacos, camarones was definitely the winner. So good! The elotes was too creamy/ cheesy for my liking, I couldn't even finish a small cup. Agua fresca was good and refreshing & came in a big cup. Counter service was quick and friendly. It's self serve. I visited based on reviews. I placed my order and waited. After a minute or two I was informed that they did not have the plate I ordered. Mind you it was listed on their daily specials and I was there for an early lunch. I went ahead and ordered tacos, agua fresca (pina), and a corn in the cup. I only liked one of the four tacos I tried, tripa. The others had no discerning taste and were dry. The corn, I do not know where to begin, but it was awful! The corn was overcooked making it chewy, the cheese was chunky, and I could not locate the sour cream nor butter. I ended up throwing it away which says a lot. The staff is very nice and attentive to the customers. The menu is extensive and you will always find that one an option that you didn't know you needed. The tacos were delicious and the ceviche was even better. Your money will go a long way because they don't skip on the food portions. We were greeted with a warm welcome by staff. It wasn't busy but people were eating and waiting for orders. We were immediately attended to with ordering and conversations. From the trek of continued searches for hamburgers that allow us to bring in wine to have with our burgers, we found a gem. The only reason that I am not giving 4 stars, is because of the uncomfortable bar stools at the tables. Tables? Well, not really. They are more like finished wooden boards 2' x 7' that are anchored into the floor with industrial pipe and mounting plates into the floor. Very sturdy, but with backs on the chairs, we always had to lean forward and steady ourselves with a hand, arm or elbow. Now, when we arrived at 1:00 PM, the place was packed with blue collar workers, wearing bright yellow vests and construction shirts. AND there was a line to order. They have no soda fountain for drinks. All is purchased from the register, including bottled water. No ice. No lemon. Now for the burgers. Below you will see some of the value they serve and I forgot to take pics of our burgers. They have 2 on the menu, regular and Mexican. The regular burger is served just how you expect, but, with 2 meat patties tomato, lettuce, pickles, cheese. We both added bacon (They serve an outstanding breakfast value as well.) The Mexican burger threw me. 3 meats, 2 burger patties, slice of ham AND split down the middle hotdog, that was gilled, as well as jalapenos, lettuce and tomato. Burgers come with papas (French fries). The "tables" each have rolls of paper towels to use as napkins and if desired, you can pick up the real petite folded napkins at the register. Also, each "table"" has a light green, creamy tomatillo sauce or a more robust roasted chili pepper sauce. A bottle of ketchup was put up on the pick up food area, as if the owners knew that we would ask for it. I believe that out of 20 people there, there were a total of 4 "gringos," us included. The burgers had so much melded flavor, that we were pleasantly full, HOWEVER, they also have a fresco fruit drink wing, that prepares such bountiful and freshly mixed drinks and desserts, that we had to try them. See the pictures. Pricing is super. Less desserts, we paid $26 with tax and that was a huge amount of food. I highly recommend Don Sebas. OH! And Don himself is back behind the counter doing most of the cooking. We didn't speak, but the restaurant has a logo with his face on it and he looks exactly like the logo. I believe it was his wife that ran the register and she was a gem helping us, non-Spanish speaking guests. Yup. I will be back. read more
