My family and I have been ordering from La Conversation for over 15 years. It's great they have a storefront again in LA making it easier to pick up desserts. They have a small seating area. The pear tart and Milanese cupcakes are my family's go-to for desserts. I also like the macadamia hearts. Customer service is always great. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

The CUTEST little bakery with such nice staff. I highly highly recommend stopping here, the prices are so affordable. This is a true gem!

Super cute cafe, the food was delish. Had an omelette with fresh fruit, did not disappoint! Super friendly service as well, will definitely come back

I ordered a delicious club sandwich, to eat there and some cookies to take home .

Fantastic cafe / bakery ! Nice staff , delicious food and amazing baked goods. I've been 3 times in 4 weeks!!

Absolutely beautiful space, the pastries even better, and the staff are even friendlier. It felt like I was stopping by an auntie's house, and she turned around holding a freshly baked croissant. I went home with the macadamia hearts (delightful), chocolate and almond croissant (filled to the brim), fruit tarts (fresh), and pear tart, all as good as the one before. Not a place to sleep on, and I can't wait to come back!

Pastries

Welcoming -- wonderful staff- fresh array of pastries-- croissants -tarts. Creative and beautiful. Great coffees/lattes. You can also order cakes and pies. Soon they will be expanding their breakfast menu and light lunch. This is a new location for La Conversation - they had been on Doheny , off Santa Monica Blvd in West Hollywood for years!! Same Bakers and some the original staff! How amazing to see them again!!

Coffee menu

My favorite veggie croissants and pastries! Love this place. Super cute Parisian style bakery. Service is amazing!

Such a beautiful cake with succulents to match my bouquet and my husband's boutonniere.

I've tried various cakes, pastries, and other goodies from this bakery and each time they've been delicious and presented beautifully. We were lucky enough to have La Conversation make our wedding cake this last May and we were blown away. I had seamless communication with them regarding the cake flavor options, design ideas, and about set-up/delivery for the big day so it was a relief to know they were proactive in thinking of all the details. We decided on a chocolate cake with buttercream icing. I mentioned we had succulents in my bouquet/boutonniere and they were able to incorporate them onto the cake! We got so many compliments from our family and friends on the appearance and taste. Easiest and best decision we could have made!

A lovely little cafe and bakery right off Santa Monica at Doheny... I've lived in WeHo for years and didn't even know this place was here, but it's worth a visit for sure. I found the street parking easy, there is indoor and outdoor seating, and the noise level and setting make it a good choice for a casual meeting. Tables are a little tight, but it isn't a large space. Working with a laptop might be challenging if you like to spread out. They have a breakfast and a lunch menu, but I was there at an odd time and for a meeting, so decided to just go with coffee and order food to go to surprise the waiting SO at home. The coffee is fabulous and they're great at refills. Staff is endlessly helpful and efficient. It's the kind of place where you feel like after a few visits, you'll get to know everyone there. My colleague raved about their croissants, and she's French! So that seemed like a good bet. I went with two Swiss and mushroom croissants, which the server told me they were out of but would make up a couple of fresh ones just for me. Awesome. As I was paying my bill, I was right in front of the bakery counter so... how could I resist? Again, since I was going home to my patient SO (who didn't even complain about my scheduling a relatively long Saturday afternoon meeting), I decided to get a few things to bring home to her. They had these lovely Macadamia Hearts , which are like a thicker cookie/cake hybrid that are dipped in white or dark chocolate. They're $4.25 each, so I got a couple of each type. And they were delicious. Perfect sweet and romantic little treat that I highly recommend if you need a little gift for your squeeze! Definitely would go back - perfect place to pick up dessert for a party, snacks for a meeting, or to grab breakfast, lunch or coffee and a pastry.

Free basket of goodies~mini croissant, scone, and muffin. Delicious!

Very mediocre. I wasn't necessarily impressed or displeased. I was just "meh" about the food, and the seating is very tight.

They closed out my credit card for $4.50 more than what I signed for. I'm contacting my bank today to report this fraud.

I liked this place so much. How could they close forever? No goodbye. No other location... wow. I'm so sad.

If you're looking for many of the same baked goods, the manager and head baker have continued to provide and even deliver! Contact Nubia Cruz at (323) 377-5549.

Does anyone know if they plan to reopen this? I was going to go with my boyfriend today and really bummed to see it's closed.

I'm afraid that Steve sold the business and is enjoying retirement. I believe he's headed to Greece this week.

Anyone know of a recipe for their delicious macadamia hearts? I'm gonna miss those.

What happened to this restaurant?

They closed quietly on Jan 20

Ok? Sooooo we didn't know it closed..?? How come ?? What happened ?? I need answers 😭

The new owner of the property wants to demolish the current building and build a new one. ☹️

Closed for good?

Yes !!!

When do they stop serving breakfast?

Breakfast all day!

Where is the best place to park? That area has become parking hell...

They have their own parking in the back of the restaurant. It can get a little competitive but there is some times a parking attendant across the street who helps the businesses on the block.

You don't feel like you're eating shaved ice! You feel like you're eating a fluffy cloud! When you walk in, you are greeted by kiosks where you place your order. You don't have much interaction with the staff other than than they calling out your number when your order is ready Only downside is they were playing music way too loud! The store itself had maybe 1-2 other parties inside... but the music was too loud we practically had to yell at each other to MAYBE hear the person right next to us. I definitely was not a fan of that vibe. The dessert itself though was phenomenal

For those driving here, we did notice it was connected to small parking structure. Upon entering the front, there were 2 kiosks. We had no interaction with staff. There was no customization with the selections and there was no one to ask. For instance the mango shaved snow came with the melon. I wanted the strawberry shaved snow with the melon balls but they didn't have that option. When you order additional toppings, they leave it on the side. Not visually appealing at all. My niece and I shared the Strawberry Shaved Ice ($18.99) and added Mochi ($2.50) and Melon Balls ($4.25). After you order from the kiosk, you seat yourself and they'll call your number when your order ready. I really like their shaved ice here because the ice is creamy and flavored before they shave it so it's extra flavorful and creamy. It's just really expensive for what it is and especially pricey when you want additional ingredients. Most other shaved ice businesses will allow multiple ingredients for a portion of the cost. One thing that was weird is how it came in a plate instead of a bowl shaped container. Eat quick and make sure it doesn't tip over. I'm so torn because I like the product after the addition of more toppings, but I'm not sure it's worth the price. Also no staff interaction and lacking customization makes my experience as a customer frustrating and limited. Not sure if I would come back.

I've seen people here working on their laptop and groups of people around one table so the vibe is chill and friendly. It also depends on what time of day you come. Weekends usually get packed. As for the drinks and food. What we've had here has always been good. Best to eat their Croffle and baked goods there. Although Matcha is not for my liking, I'm more for their Taro Drink. B says the Matcha here is one of the better ones she's had. I have to agree even their Matcha Ice Cream is good. We get is the Matcha Croffle + Ice Cream, Matcha Einspanner, Taro Einspanner, and their cakes. Only thing I knocked down a star is because Not all the workers know the answers to your questions of what is in what food item or if you can substitute the milks. So that's something Cafe Upper should train all staff. Especially if people have food allergies.

I'm from the Bay Area but I've been to Cafe Dulce several times. My wife and I really like their Hong Kong Tea Latte and their Matcha drink, as well as their various donuts and baked goods. In the morning rush they can be a little busy but the staff work hard. On a recent visit I saw people eating their steak breakfast burritos, so I ordered one for myself and a coworker. The burritos were reasonable size, the steak was seasoned well, and the breakfast burrito had potatoes in it (I only like breakfast burritos that have potatoes/hash browns/tots in it). Keep supporting the classics, not just because they've been around for a while, but because they have strong products and service.

Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Previously the lemon one and the most recent was the Raspberry Pistachio which I was impressed by as I just fancied sweet and refreshing combo of white chocolate and raspberry. The pistachio added more texture to it for sure. Same as any Levain cookies, best enjoyed warm and fresh out of oven. The Cookie Milk Latte was actually the main reason bringing me here, yet I was bit let down by it as I was expecting more malty cookie flavor in the drink.
