    The Favorite Omelette

The "favorite" omlete was very delicious, if you're into goat cheese , mushrooms, spinach and sundried tomatoes you'll enjoy this omelette. I would have gladly given them 4 stars based on the omlete but we waited a while for our food.

Cute homey French cafe. Came in for a Saturday breakfast and was very pleased. I ordered the Normandie omelette and just haddd to get a side of croissant. I inhaled the croissant - it was that good. Great portions, both breakfast entrees came with a side salad and roasted potatoes. The dressing was the perfect vinaigrette. The potatoes had really great flavor. Service was quick, attentive, and the owner Josette was so sweet! Unfortunately no dedicated parking (welcome to LA!), but there are metered spots as well as side streets. I'm sure to come back - especially for the croissant!! Just flaky and delicious and perfect. Yum. I'll be thinking about it for a while!

However- beware, you may get bit by mosquitoes bc of all the greenery. Also, the trees kept dropping stuff on us all night lol. Food itself was alright... we ordered the mussels, beef tartare, lamb chops, and porcini risotto. Mussels were plump and have a nice curry flavor but lacked the wow factor. Skip the steak tartare...basically could only taste the mustard/capers. Lamb chops were probs the best of the four dishes we got, you get 3 pieces, tender and juicy, however comes w a heap of super lemony herbs on top. Risotto looked better than it tasted...risotto itself wasn't as thick and creamy as I personally prefer. Had a good amount of mushrooms though! We eventually got a side of Brussel sprouts for some greens but unfortunately all we tasted was the vinaigrette:// overall..overhyped. Definitely more of a restaurant for vibes rather than food.

You can really tell that the food and ingredients are super high quality! As for what we ordered: - Escargots (5/5), no notes - super flavorful and tasty standard escargots done right! - French onion soup (5/5): the cheese was nicely melted and the soup was rich. Classic choice, can't go wrong! - Duck confit (5/5): never had this before but oh man it was so good! The duck skin was light and crispy, not oily at all and the duck was juicy. The flavors shined throughout and the purées complimented the duck really nicely. Super balanced dish - Beef Bourguignon (4/5): I wanted to love this more but I think the wine sauce was too overpowering. The beef was fork tender and cooked really nicely but I just thought the sauce was too strong. Everything else was nice! - pistachio crème brulee (5/5): I was so surprised but this was so good!! Never had these flavors before but it was the perfect blend of light and airiness with a hint of pistachio! Service was standard, they give table bread which was good and fresh! Parking is tough since it's in DTLA but it was easy on a Sunday night!

You'll need to venture a little deeper into the plaza to find it, but it's well worth the effort. They were offering a pre-fix menu during our visit, which was a great way to sample a variety of dishes. The standout items for us were the ENDIVE SALAD, BURGUNDY SNAILS, 48-HOUR DUCK LEG CONFIT, and the MOULES MARINIERES. Service was a bit slow, but the food was good. ENJOY! PS: Super weird, you have to leave the restaurant and go to a security guard in the middle of the plaza to let you in to use the restroom. Parking can be really difficult. There's no lot, but I was able to get a meter spot.

Somehow, it got even…read morebetter. * The food is French-Japanese fusion, but not in a "we added soy sauce and called it fusion" kind of way. Every dish feels genuinely thoughtful. * The dry-aged burger was deeply savory, perfectly cooked, and extremely juicy. The kind of burger that requires both hands, several napkins, and temporary silence. * The fries were excellent, but the real plot twist was the curry ketchup. I had never tasted anything quite like it before. Sweet, savory, slightly spiced--and dangerously easy to keep eating. * We also tried the pork sandwich, topped with egg yolk. Rich, layered, messy in the correct way, and full of flavor. * The cocktails were also very well made--interesting without feeling like a science experiment served in glassware. * The menu changes frequently, so every visit feels a little different. You might see Japanese and French influences, then suddenly something inspired by Chinese dishes like Peking duck. The chef clearly enjoys traveling without leaving the kitchen. * ‍ Most importantly, you can feel the attention in the small details. Nothing seems random, even when the combinations sound unusual. This is becoming the kind of restaurant I'll probably visit once a month just to see what new idea has appeared on the menu. For research purposes, obviously. The curry ketchup has nothing to do with it.

Oysters (5/5): great value for happy hour and they were tasty. Bluefin tuna toast (2/5): for the cost, the quality did not match and it didn't have much flavor. Chicken liver toast (5/5): highly recommend, I normally don't like chicken liver but I loved this one. Japanese Bolognese (3.5/5): solid, but nothing too special about it. Abalone pot pie (5/5): one of the highlights of the meal, could have eaten one by myself! Duck (4/5): it was cooked well and tasty, loved the fries that came with it. Overall a very nice spot for dinner, highly recommend coming earlier to catch their happy hour deals. Good music, nice ambiance, perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Not sure if we would pay full price, but using our Chase Sapphire Reserve benefit was worth it!

The escargot is probably the best I've had. I loved how buttery it was and the snail itself was so fresh and tender. I'd definitely repurchase this on another visit. I even dipped some of the baguette bread (which had the best crunch!) into the butter and it was perfection! For our mains, we got the sea bass with lentils and the Alaskan halibut, and both were prepared perfectly down to taste and texture. Everything about its execution felt very intentional. The halibut was baked with the right amount of breading and the sea bass was pan seared to give that nice crispy texture to the skin. My only critique is I thought the lentils were a bit too overpowering because of the huge quantity, but honestly, everything else was amazing enough that I'm not bothered by it.

Overall this restaurant layout was pretty cool and the night we went the noise level was moderate but I can see that if its packed this place could get loud. They offer outdoor seating as well that looked cozy. Our waiter and his team was very attentive and always made sure we had what we needed so service was exceptional. Food is always an area that I leave up to everyone's own taste. To me I felt some of the dishes needed more salt but I always enjoy my food from how the chef prepped it so I can try new dishes.
