I made a stop, but their menu didn't have prices, so I had to ask the clerk. They told me that their burritos, quesadillas and tortas dishes were all $10. On the positive side, they have a parking lot. However, the restaurant is not well-maintained and feels a bit scary. There were eight cameras on the ceiling within a 8x8 feet area, although I couldn't tell if they were still in use or not. I didn't bother counting what other cameras were on the wall, some looked busted. The place needs remodeling because I almost threw my trash into a vase that looked like a trash can. I couldn't find a real trash can inside the restaurant, so I took my trash out to my car :( When I asked for a plastic knife, they didn't have one and could only offer me a fork to cut my burrito. The seating area was dirty, with many cracked tiles and some smeared with fruit (probably from strawberries). It was an uncomfortable and scary experience, so I didn't stay too long.

Wow did not expect for the food to be this good! I was surprised. The inside is a little outdated but it's spacious, clean and the enchiladas are great. It reminds me of the enchiladas Mexicanas. They put mozzarella cheese and chicken on the inside. Topped with lettuce, avocado and queso fresco. To me if the food is good then it deserves to be recognized. Will definitely be coming back to try their quesabirrias. I saw the guy sitting next to me eating those and it looked really delicious.

Good little taco joint, a small bite is all we needed for what was a quick rest stop so we ordered two street tacos and two Cokes. Service was very kind, the manager translated our order to the sweet woman behind the counter. The homemade tomatillo salsa was delicious. The tables were clean but they could work on giving the place a scrub. For kindness and friendless though they get high marks.

    sauce and toppings

The tortilla are fresh and housemade, super soft!! The meat was seasoned very well and cooked just right. Portions are huge!! bigger than average compared to a regular street taco. sides and sauce provided to add to your meal. very nice welcoming staff

taco was great !! tortilla was hand made and beans had great flavor, definitely an authentic place. i recommended these tacos any day!

    Pastor quesadilla

Stopped here for lunch Saturday afternoon. Had the quesadilla, flauta and vampiros. The food was fabulous. The decor is lackluster, but it was cool and clean. The counter service was quick and friendly, food delivery was fast and efficient. Will definitely have to return. Delicious.

Was downtown Gilroy looking for a place to eat, when out of the corner of my eyes I caught the tacos del Guero sign. After flipping a U-ee we pulled into a fairly sizable parking lot that has plenty of parking just for their business. There is some nice signage on the building. As I walked inside I noticed the left side where all the seating is was blacked out. they are definitely a mom and pop "ask the locals" kind of place. . I asked the lady if she had a menu and she said no however she spent the time to let me know what kind of meats and food they served. The ladies behind the counter were super nice and even smiled when I took pictures. Wifey needs to use the rest room, they were nice enough to let her use it, even With this crazy "Ch-eye-na" virus going on. They have condiments underneath a steel closed lid container that you can access yourself. I ordered a super burrito with L Pastore and wifey ordered three street tacos one with Carnitas and two with steak. They will give you salsa red, green or both on the side, The green was super flavorful with very little heat, the red was more for us spicy loving people but I felt the flavor was not quite as developed as the green. When I tore open my burrito the first thing I noticed was the shell had been toasted nicely and actually had a really good flavor the burrito had beans, rice, juicy help Pastor meet, with whole cut avocado slices inside. Adding the green salsa added a whole "nother" dimension to the flavor. The price point is actually really good at this place at $9:50 per person including drinks. Bottom line..... good food, service and price. "I'll be back"

Most important thing I learned here was how incredible a freshly made taco can taste. The taco itself was absolutely unreal, never mind the filling. We got a few extra to go since they were so good. The quesadilla was stunning--loads of cheese and loads of meat. I tried the pastor but all the standard options are available! Of particular note, to me at least, was the salsas. The green salsa was really well made and fresh, but there was also this kind of smoky tamarind-y (I think? I can't put my finger on the flavour!) one that was out of this world. Decor is lovely and bright, even if the space is a tad tired I guess? I don't care about that, tbh because the food was fantastic. Also came so quickly! Almost instantly. The staff were all lovely too. A smile costs nothing, but they were rich in happiness. Great spot and very much worth turning off the main road to eat here!

We love Guero's. Great spot to eat. Love the service and especially the food. Tacos are bomb, and so are the burritos. Just had a Torta tonight and it was fire.

They came very highly recommended, but I was nervous as this was our first time using them. Angela instantly put me at ease with her thoroughness and attention to detail. She was even able to provide me with contacts for certain items I was looking for and couldn't find. She stopped by prior to the event for a walk through to see the location and ensure set up logistics and anything I hadn't thought about. Her Staff was super friendly and professional. I received numerous compliments from my guests not only for the great tasting tacos, food, and aqua frescas but for how beautiful their set up was. I was actually able to sit down and enjoy my event confidently knowing that everything was taken care of. By the end of my event Angela felt more like a Family Member whom I've known for years. I've even been using AI to help me find healthier restaurant options, which is how I came across Tacos America. It recommended the restaurant because they grill their chicken, so we were excited to try it. When we arrived, we saw them grilling meat outside and thought, "Perfect! This is exactly what we're looking for." Since the tacos are topped with vegetables, we felt like this would be a great, healthier option. Unfortunately, that's not what happened. While we were waiting, the people ahead of us ordered tripe. The tripe was being heated on the Blackstone in lard, and you could see it sizzling in the lard. After they removed the tripe and served it, it was time to prepare our tacos. They put our grilled chicken on that same surface with the same lard that had just been used for the tripe. I'm not someone who likes to complain, so I didn't say anything at the time. Looking back, I wish I had. I understand that they need to heat the meat before serving it, but if you are advertising grilled chicken as an option, customers should be able to expect that chicken to remain a healthier choice. At the very least, customers should be told if their food is going to be heated in lard and given the opportunity to say no. For someone like me, the entire reason for ordering chicken instead of fatty meats is to avoid exactly that. If I wanted my chicken cooked in lard, I could have ordered something else. It was especially frustrating because we specifically chose this restaurant believing we were making a healthier choice. As for the tacos themselves, they were good. Unfortunately, I ended up taking the chicken out of the tacos and only ate about 1/3 of it because I didn't feel comfortable eating all of it after seeing it heated in lard. I hated wasting the food, but I'm trying to take my diet seriously for my health. I really hope Tacos America considers this. If you offer grilled chicken as a healthier option, please don't put it on a surface covered in lard without telling the customer. There may be people ordering chicken for medical or dietary reasons who cannot eat lard or added fats. A simple question or warning would have made a huge difference. The tacos were good, but unfortunately, the way the chicken was handled completely defeated the reason we chose them in the first place.

There's a sign that says "Wait to be seated", but no one came out to seat us and a group of people walked past us to go inside, were sat right away. A girl who sat us ended up being our server but took a very long time for her to come back out to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the guy bringing water and tortilla chips who our server was. Once our server arrived she was very nice and answered our menu questions. I ordered the the spicy Mamacita and my friend ordered the pina colada. Both drinks looked cool but mine was very sweet, not really spicy at all and was tiny for $15. I think I mostly paid for the presentation part...flower, popsicle, etc. We both ordered the 3 taco trio and the food came out before long. I had a mahi mahi, carne asada and a taco macho. Again, the food wasn't that great: rice and beans had an off flavor, octopus was chewy in the taco macho, and the mahi was a bit fishy. We took half our food to go and checked out. All in all I would not come back unless it was out of convenience due to the location. The food and drinks have a nice presentation, but the taste of everything wasn't there for me. If you want an aguachile that's not too spicy, the aguachile de tamarindo is a solid choice, while the mango habanero has a nice kick. The tacos are consistently good.
