Went to early dinner at La Cour. I arrived early for my 5:30 reservation and was seated quickly. I quickly ordered the fried okra appetizer and was a little disappointed. The batter wouldn't stick to the okra and some were still a little hard. I asked for a different sauce and the sweet chili sauce tasted better than the hot sauce that accompanies the dish. My entree was the blackened salmon with brussel sprouts and roasted potatoes. This dish was really good. The salmon was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The Brussels were tender and I enjoyed the sauce. I didn't like the potatoes. I've never seen roasted potatoes that shine like this and they lacked seasoning to me. The atmosphere is nice. There was a young lady singing when I arrived. I thought it was odd for that time of day but it did add to the ambiance of the dinning room. Mari G was my server. He was good. Didn't hover but inquired about refills or my needs throughout. I will go back to try the lunch menu. It looks better than the dinner options.

This is just plain sad. The restaurant is portrayed as high end/fancy, but the food taste and portions are ridiculous. Overpriced is the nicest thing I can say. I've been several times and disappointed every time. Only go because my wife insists. The pic is their take out seafood pasta (Perfect) that my wife ordered today! $32.00 Not worth the price!

Perfect place for Brunch! Atmosphere is very cute and trendy. The chicken & galletes were so good and very filling and the service was great. It's a tad bit pricey but worth it.

Once again La Cour was absolutely in point! From outside the service is amazing! Opened door, magnificent greetings. The food is always delicious, I tried the lemon chicken with Keke's collards and per usual...delectable! We also tried the baked sweet potato soufflé . Lastly, I had a James Baldwin, which was like an old fashioned minus the bitters which made it perfect! Also, live music, on a Friday evening! Of course we'll be back

This is a nice restaurant with "nice restaurant" prices. I had brunch: an omelet, biscuit, and grits. It was delectable. Service was good.

Dined here with my nieces who are all in college and we enjoyed the food! The service was good and the staff friendly! Forgot to take pictures of all the food because well, we dived in.

The food and the drinks were delicious! We did have to wait and the service was a little slow, but I was brunch time so it's to be expected! Our waitress had great customer service and helped with the selections. I'm so mad I can't remember her name. If I do I'll come back and edit to add it! I loved my waffle it was light fluffy and delicious!!! The side of breakfast potatoes could have used some love or salt LOL!!! The hubby really liked his shrimp and grits. He gave me a little taste and by little I mean little LOL. From the small portion I tasted it was good. The grits are smooth and shrimp seasoned very well. They have outdoor and indoor seating and the restrooms were very clean. The price fair your normal $15-$30 brunch meals! When I come home to visit this will be a go to!!

La Cour has definitely improved since my last visit. Customer service was amazing, almost every host and server greeted us and checked on us periodically during our visit. My cousin and I went to celebrate her birthday on a Sunday. I was pleasantly surprised by the live music that they had. Alexis Cole is the best saxophonist I've heard live! She was amazing and even personalized our experience by playing a birthday song for us. Now to the food: Brunch is a bit better than the lunch side to me. I had the classic French toast. It came with powdered sugar, berries, cheese grits and a choice of sausage or bacon. It was just right, nothing too fancy about it. Drinks were definitely better! They had a great bartender who made all of our drinks correctly. I will definitely return for brunch or happy hour.

Came on a busy Friday night & the Host was helpful to get me a table for 2 outside which is what I requested. I enjoyed my Blackened Salmon but expected the mashed sweet potato to be sweeter. My aunt had their sweet potato gnocchi with added chicken. I've never heard of the sweet potato version so I tried it and was actually glad that I did not order that. The Summer Push drink I had wasn't that great to me as well. Tasted more like cough syrup than anything. But they added more sweetener to try to better the taste, it didn't help. But the place looked lit with the live music and everyone dressed to the 10's in Highland Village. I will definitely support it again next time I'm around.

    Shrimp and Grits

If I were ranking La Cour based off of flavor of food alone, it would get a 5 out of 5. The sauce in the shrimp and grits was perfect. The shrimp were large and evenly cooked, the grits were smooth and creamy, the vegetables were tender. It was the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. But it took over an hour to get my meal during lunch on a Sunday when it was not busy. After my food came out an hour and a half after ordering, we waited 10 minutes for My friend to receive her chicken and waffles before we told our waiter to not bother. I worry this restaurant will go out of buisness not because the food is bad (the food is delicious) but terrible kitchen management. I would not recommend bringing a party here especially during a busy time. Order the shrimp and grits if you are ordering take out.

Wanted to support a black owned business, but it was very disappointing experience. The atmosphere is beautiful, very nice decor and vibe. Ordered the lox & bagel. The wait for the food was 50mins and the restaurant wasn't busy. I had to ask for my food and then the server went to check on it. When the food arrived it didn't include the cheese. The grits are horrible, they are gritty and had been sitting for a long time and there was no flavor. The lox & bagel they had to bring the cheese out it was included on the order. At that point I didn't even want to taste it because the food came out cold. Disappointing!! I really wanted to give this spot a chance , but for brunch on a Saturday I wouldn't recommend at all. Or just don't order what I ordered

    Wedge Salad, I recommend it!

I was happy to get to try this restaurant with my family for a birthday dinner. It has a nice vibe and I noticed people enjoying themselves at the bar. As I stated my family and I did go for a birthday dinner, so they have a rule that I understand. The rule is no balloons, they tie them to the porch out front. The management didn't seem too friendly. We were only one of two parties there and as a new restaurant it seems like some hospitality wouldn't hurt at all. We went on a Thursday evening and it wasn't packed, plenty of people at work such as waitresses. But the food was somewhat slow coming out of the kitchen. I also ordered the salmon over brussel sprouts and it came with potatoes. I ordered a side of dirty rice. The meal was good and actually earned the 3 stars. It had a special sauce that put a great flavor on the brussel sprouts. I would order it again. Please be aware that there are no free refills on soft drinks. We weren't made aware of this and were charged $18, but now we know. Overall the food and the live music is what gives this place its positive rating of 3 stars. If the service was better and more informative to us as customers I would have easily given 2 more stars.

Steak cooked wayyyyy under. No sauce.

Okay... this restaurant looks really cool and has a great vibe. The atmosphere is nice and I love the look on the inside. The chairs in the back green room specifically are a liability and dangerous... sit at your own risk. One wrong scoot up and you will land straight on your butt on the floor like the girl at the table next to us. Not kidding... I almost fell out of my chair too. Service: our waitress was super nice but very uneducated on the menu, pronunciations, and restaurant. She didn't know if they served unsweetened tea which seemed odd. Food: Pros- the seafood pistolettes were fabulous. There were three of them and a filling appetizer to share. The lobster roll was very good.. it was a lightly fried lobster roll. Cons: Our French onion soup was straight up cold... definitely wouldn't order it again not because it was cold but because it was nothing special. I ordered the Steak Au Poivre which is a 8oz filet with a cognac sauce and some mini sliced potatoes... I ordered mine medium rare... it came cooked less than rare with no sauce or potatoes. Sent it back.. and the next steak looked like a mix between a hamburger steak and something from the western sizzlin (not hating.. but a $40 steak should be better than that)... it was awful. Also it was cooked over medium. The waitress was apologetic and she took the soup off and gave us some free beignets... I hope they can get it together because it could be a great place especially for its location. The kitchen has some work to do for sure.

The ambiance is what you would expect. Low lighting, white tablecloths and excellent service. I hate I can't remember my server's name because he should teach a master class on providing service. I ordered the salmon, cooked medium, with a side of asaparus. My mom and sister both got the 8oz filet. Mom got her's cooked medium with mushrooms, while my sister did medium rare with a side of housecut fries. All entrees come with a salad, and we all three picked the vinaigrette dressing. Salad and dressing needed salt. I hate I didn't go with another dressing because I would have really enjoyed my salad more. My salmon and asparagus were very tasty. My mom said her steak melted in her mouth. The side of fries were huge so we all ate some. They were really good! Momma and my sister got the bread pudding and I went with the chocolate chess pie for dessert. You can tell they make the desserts as they were soooo good! It was my first time dinning there but won't be my last.
