Had breakfast recently at La Croisette in St. Pete Beach, a local spot that's been serving breakfast and lunch since 1986, a few years longer than I've been alive. It's got that classic Southern diner vibe with a little French flair mixed in. I went with the Meat Lovers Omelette, packed with sausage, bacon, ham, and cheddar cheese. Added a side of bacon and, of course, had to try their croissant. Rounded everything out with some fresh fruit and a cortado. The food was solid, the service was great, and it's just a good old-school breakfast spot. If you're in the St. Pete Beach area, I'd definitely recommend stopping in for breakfast or lunch. It turned out to be a fun and unique experience. We arrived around 9:00 a.m. and were seated immediately without a reservation or any wait. The restaurant was already very busy, and it seemed like many of the customers were locals, which is always a good sign. I ordered the Chop Sirloin & Eggs ($16.85) with a fruit cup (+$2.50) and a homemade croissant (+$2.50) as substitutions. Everything was delicious. It was my first time having scrambled eggs with Swiss cheese, and I really enjoyed the combination. The homemade French-style croissant was especially fresh, flaky, and buttery, and was one of the highlights of the meal. The service was excellent. Our server was warm, friendly, and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere that made breakfast even more enjoyable. After dealing with the stress of traveling, the flight, and adjusting to Florida's hot and humid weather, this relaxing breakfast was the moment when I finally felt like I was truly on vacation. I selected this restaurant to celebrate my 52nd birthday because they had quiche on the menu and I do not regret it one bit. I would totally recommend this restaurant if you wanna have the best quiche Lorraine in Florida. Unfortunately, the food did fall a little short of the hype. I will say the service was excellent. It's a nice little beach restaurant, a little cramped inside with some outside seating. The breakfast croissant sandwich with grits was average at best. My Spanish Omelette was dry and the peppers were really undercooked. Mushrooms were almost nonexistent. The most biggest disappointment were the sausage patties- incredibly dry and gritty. Overall 3 stars- two except for the excellent service. Maybe lunch is better? We got here and were seated immediately, and our food came within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was very tasty, I got an omelette croissant sandwich and it was really fresh and delicious. The home fries are nicely seasoned and very crispy. The ambiance is cute, a pretty typical beachy touristy place. The parking can be tricky in this area so just something to keep in mind. We heard many good reviews of La Croisette, especially from a French born woman who worked down the street from it! We went for a late breakfast/brunch and were not disappointed. My wife had the French crêpe with bananas and chocolate, and an egg on the side for protein. I had heard wonderful things about their croissant French toast. So I ordered it and again it was fantastic. I got some sausage along the side. They do have Texas toast style French toast too, and cinnamon bun French toast! We sat outside under the canopy and the atmosphere was fantastic. They are only open for breakfast until 2. We may go back this week while we're in St Pete Beach. I put hot sauce and ketchup on them along with some salt, and they were edible. But here's my bitch, what's with the one slice of toast when this breakfast is $9.00?!!!! Anywhere in the world you go for breakfast you get two slices of toast. Is this place too bougie to give me two pieces of toast? I've seen this place a few times driving in town and finally got the chance to try it out. I wish I've gone sooner! I got the fried chicken croissant sandwich and a bit disappointed when it came out with chicken tenders on it. The potatoes were the star of the meal. Very well seasoned and crispy. Came here for a late breakfast with my group of friends on a bachelorette trip. We were immediately greeted with smiles and joy. The host seated us right away and helped put a table together for us so we could all fit. The service was quick and efficient! Our server came many times to refill coffee and water we never had to ask. The workers were all so friendly and made us laugh. We all really enjoyed our food. It came out hot and tasting fresh. Not much & a little tight, but parking nonetheless. We were greeted immediately. Given the choice of where to sit. "Anywhere that's open" Not much was open. Lots of guests. We chose a nice table, corner window. Our server greeted us immediatly, offered me cofffe, "yes, please" My husband is the king of apple juice. The menu has plenty of offerings. Eggs in any form, scrambled, omelettes, benedict, even quiche. They also offer breakfast burritos, pancakes and waffles. But croissants are king here. Not toast. They serve drinks of all kinds, juices, coffee, hot tea, iced tean, milk, hot chocolate milk and milk. They also serve cocktails, mimosas, bloody marys, etc. And although, not on the menu they also offer specialty coffees like mocha lattes. We ordered, I got the croissant sandwich, which is two eggs scrambled with anything you want, ham, veggies & cheese, in between sliced croissant. My husband went with home fries, scrambled eggs with cheese and croissant as his "toast". The food is ok. The positive, big portions for the price. I like to feel full and satisfied. The food was hot. Negative, the eggs were a little to over done for me, but maybe I should have specified. The home fries were nice and crispy, loved the big chunks of onions, peppers and mushrooms. The croissant lacked flakiness and flavor. They were so bland. I doubt they are made in house, which is not a big deal, but wherever they get it from, they reheat in the microwave. That makes them limp. The coffee was also not good. It was disappointing. I ate it, I was hungry. But if they were to read this, I would suggest they improve on croissants and coffee. This is the cutest little modern style French inspired beachside diner. They open super early so perfect for the early birds. The back room with the mod artwork is also a lovely place to take a meeting/zoom call. It's quiet back there & has awesome natural light. The one thing I did find on the menu that I did LOVE is the traditional Green salad with grilled chicken. The "JOAN OF ARC" or "salade de poulet" w/choice of dressing (oil & vinegar pictured) was perfectly seasoned on top of super fresh greens/veggies. It comes with your choice of dressing, moi got oil & vinegar, then, balsamic vinaigrette. You def want the balsamic vinaigrette. Price increases make this a one time visit. It was literally underwater from the hurricanes but now refreshed and seems the customers have to pay for the repairs. Also alternatives like the Frog Pond and the sea horse have not come back only skidders down gulf blvd which also increased their prices dramatically. We were seated immediately on arrival and quickly provided menus and water. Our group of 4 ordered a variety of dishes: 1. Croissant sandwich Mom report: "The croissant didn't taste fresh. Did they get them at Costco? And everything was greasy." 2. The banana Nutella crepe Son report: "It was great." Dad observation: He didn't finish his bacon. He always finishes his bacon. Son clarification: "it was too crispy. Like it was fried or something. Weird" 3. Waffle Daughter report: "It was good. I feel it was a little under done. Dad observation: I've seen better at a Holiday Inn breakfast buffet. She also didn't finish her bacon. Again, weird. 4. The Crepe Delight Dad report: The quick way to make a dish unmemorable is to cover it with so much whipped cream and chocolate sauce that everything just tastes like that. This was basically a crepe with fruit salad dumped on top. When I actually tasted crepe it wasn't too bad. But that was few and far between. I also got a side of potatoes and requested to add onions. What I received is potatoes with some barely grilled onions dumped on top. And it also tasted a bit greasy. This is my second time eating here and I have no complaints. I also ordered a nice cappuccino and my cousin got the hot chocolate which was delicious for the chilly morning.
