Happy New Year! In case you were wondering where I was after a three and a half week absence, I had to attend to some personal matters, but I am back and here to get 2026 off the mat with someplace I have never been to. Conveniently located only a short walk from the 72nd Street station on the 1/2/3, this restaurant follows the same model as La Caridad 72. Chinese/Cuban cuisine, mixed in with other dishes from South America. These are two cuisines that are integral to the human condition. Do not frown upon this combo, or you will instantly regret it. As I got here at the tail end of their lunch rush, I was given a lunch menu, so I ordered a wonton soup, with a chicken lo mein with a side of plantains. Got all that? Unfortunately, the wonton soup lacks a little here. The wontons fall apart and the soup has little character. It does come with several wontons as well as a side of crispy wonton strips, and some duck sauce, but overall it was an underwhelming soup. The duck sauce and wonton strips were a great way to set up the main dish, much like peanuts at a bar. They also allowed my stomach to reset in order to get ready for the heavy stuff. Lo mein is not heavy by any means, but combined with the plantains really created an excellent combination. The noodles are good perfectly, the chicken has tons of flavor, and the plantains are cooked to perfection with an outstanding taste and texture. I will eat these anywhere, anytime. The portion is nice too for a lunch meal. I did not feel shortchanged at all. The menu has other offerings that tried to seduce me into staying longer and having a more expensive bill. Any other time I would have caved like a 18 year old at a strip club. Thankfully I have more restraint than that, so I just asked for the check, paid, and walked out. As I speak some Spanish, I was hoping to use this skill there, but I read the room and saw that this was not the arena to do that. Oh well. There is a time and place for everything. Now I have to make some time for a return visit. If a visit to this restaurant was any indication, I think 2026 is going to be a unique year for me.
Love this spot! My husband and I have been coming here for years and then i started coming with my bestie. Their boneless fried chicken is to die for and so is their pork fried rice. Today we ordered the boneless friend chicken to go but had beef and broccoli and shrimp and broccoli. So delicious. Staff is nice and friendly too, def recommend and will keep coming back
Food: This restaurant serves Chino-Latino food, and it's delicious! They offer lunch specials until 4pm daily which include their well-known crackling chicken. We tried the crackling chicken (bone-in and boneless available) and oxtail stew, and I would highly recommend both dishes. The oxtail stew is not a lunch special option, but it is worth trying. It's served with rice and beans or fried rice and is very tender. The crackling chicken is very well-made and so tender and moist on the inside. It's also served with rice and beans and a delicious green sauce. I look forward to coming back here to try their other dishes. Service: Service was phenomenal. The staff are extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. The manager was especially attentive and very customer-focused. Our water was constantly refilled without having to ask. Our whole dining experience was enjoyable because of the excellent staff. Ambiance: The restaurant has a bar in the front and a lot of seating (both tables and booths) in the back. It's good for both small and large groups. Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!
La Dinastia a solid spot if you're looking for a healthy serving of hearty food. They don't skimp on portion sizes here. My friend and I asked for recommendations and got the oxtail stew and fried chicken. The chicken was crispy, but a little one the darker end in terms of fry. The flavor was good too but the fried rice was tastier. It wasn't dry but didn't taste too oily. The oxtail stew was flavorful and the side serving of rice and beans was huge! It wasn't too busy when we dined in and found the service to be fast and friendly. I would recommend giving La Dinastia a try, and come hungry.

Came here for an early dinner and it was pretty busy. Got the menu recs of crackling chicken and oxtail stew. Also got a shrimp egg foo young to try. The chicken was thin with a nice crispy coat but was rather bland so this was disappointing. We asked for the famed green sauce and would suggest dunking the chicken in it. The oxtail stew had good flavors although the portion was a bit small for the price. The egg foo young was nicely salted to go with the rice although I don't think there was much shrimp in it. The service was just okay, didn't check on us after bringing the food. There is plenty of seating inside and it is clean.
Chicken was juicy and well fried. Ask for the green sauce and hot sauce - adds so much flavor. The portion size for the price is a great value. Could easily be split amongst 2 people. The service was very nice and attentive. Very big fan of this homey spot with yummy, comforting food.
Couldn't wait to dine here. It's been a long time since I've had Chino Latino food. I ordered the hot n sour soup, Stewed chicken (pollo guisado) with yellow rice and beans. My brother ordered the hot n sour soup and oxtails with the yellow rice and beans. The good: service was good and the owner, at least I think he's the owner, is super nice. The portions are very big, enough to share. I tasted my brothers oxtails and it was decent. My order of hot and sour soup turned out to be wonton soup, but I was OK with that. I did not ask to return it and my rating is not based on the mistake, but on the flavor of the soup. The cup of coffee was really good. Served latte style. The not so good: My stewed chicken. It was like a half chicken and so a big portion. It went to waste as not only was I full, but it wasn't tasty and I only managed to eat a leg and a small piece of the breast. It was bland and the chicken tasted like it needed to be rinsed with vinegar. It had an odd chicken taste. The potato's were tasteless because to have good potatos, it has pickup the flavor from the stew. The wonton soup was not good. I was very hungry so I threw in those crunchy bad for you things that they put on the table to munch on and ate it with what I think was cabage in the soup. The wontons did not taste fresh, were hard and did not taste like pork or chicken at all. The second one was the same so the soup was not eaten. The rice did not have flavor. It was a huge portion of about 3 cups. That's too much for one person. I threw beans on a small 1/2 cup portion of rice and ate it that way. The beans: They were good. Had the whole cup. Left most of my food and felt bad leaving it. Especially since my brother was paying for it. He wipes his plate clean whether it's good or not. I took the chicken in hopes I could pass it off to a homeless person. None to be found on 7th Avenue and Penn Station, I was surprised as there are plenty there during my regular commute. I believe in supporting small businesses, but I will not be returning to this one.
Omg so good! Everyone's plate looked hella good. I need to return to try other food for sure. I think the Chinese side of the menu may be the better, but DO NOT SLEEP on the fried chicken crackling. It is white meat and I LOVED it. Not dry, season well, and crispity crunchay! Service was decent, not overly friendly, but definitely not rude. Typical NY friendly LOL. Cute little decor touches, noise level was low. We went in on a Saturday early evening. When we left about 8pm there was quite a crowd waiting. Not a place for mixed cocktails. Drinks were very low on the alcohol content. No top shelf spirits. They were a bit pricey.
My bf had told me about that location and I was shopping next door and finally ordered it for take out. I was disappointed in the steak and maduros. The steak didn't have too much taste to it and the maduros were soggy. I def liked their house special fried rice and their bread lol. My bf and I liked thier boneless chicken crackling and green sauce! I was actually surprised and hype because in Chinese Hispanic restaurants bread is usually served first! Found this spot while wandering around after doing some bird watching in the park and trying to find a quick lunch that wouldnt require getting a loan. Lo and behold I found La Dinastia. On my first visit I got the Chicken Crackling that they are known for. Very crunchy but not at all greasy chunks of white meat chicken with a nice cilantro dipping sauce. I paid the 1.25 up-charge for the pork fried rice and that was a great decision as this is some of the best fried rice ive ever had. Big,tasty chunks of pork throughout. On my second visit last week I opted for the pepper steak lunch and again a solid winner. Great pieces of tender steak,peppers and onions that were in that hard to reach zone of not being hard or mush and the sauce is so freaking good,I was dragging that amazing rice through it. They also give you bread and butter which I have never experienced in a Chinese restaurant tho i guess its more of a Chinese/Latin fusion. The place is true neighborhood. When I was there the other diners all knew the owner (Mike) and he was very friendly with them. The waitress is very sweet. Sure the booths are on the lumpy side but I think thats part of the neighborhood charm. In a sea of fancy "eateries" La Dinastia stands out!
La Dinastía is home in NYC. Mike, Rafael, and all the staff I've known for years. It's the place to go with family & friends to have a good delicious dinner and share memories. The combination of Asian and Latino cuisine is without par. The Crackling Chicken, Palomilla Steak, Chicken & Eggplant, Special Fried Rice are some of the dishes that are signature dishes for them. To cap the meal, a Cortadito.
La Dinastia has long been on my list. Having visited Chinatowns in Central and South America, including Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil, as well as fascinated by the Chinese diaspora in these geographies, I was excited to try the Latin-Chinese food at La Dinastia. Indeed, our main waiter informed us that he was born in Paraguay to Chinese parents and later only learned Chinese when he moved to the US. The menu seems to have solid Chinese-American favorites as well as Latin American classics, with some fusion, the most obvious of which was the combination with Chinese-styled fried rice or Latin American rice and plantains. We thoroughly enjoyed the lunch specials and dessert at La Dinastia. We ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce with yellow rice, chop suey with roast pork and Moro (black beans and rice), and chicken lo mein with plantains. Of the three entrees, I would say the chop suey to me was the weakest. The roast pork is definitely not as flavorful and tender as the Cantonese roast pork one might find in a Chinatown restaurant. The lo mein was good, but also didn't have that smokiness I've come to expect from the wok (but also wasn't that oily). The plantains were very yummy. Our favorite was the shrimp with lobster sauce, since the shrimp was tender; the light sauce paired well with the yellow rice. For dessert we ordered the flan, which was a scrumptious end to our meal. Overall, the service was excellent and attentive. The restaurant was bustling at peak lunch hour on Saturday, but there was no wait. We look forward to trying more from the genre, including La Caridad 72 across the street.

We were ravenous after our trek to see Strawberry Fields & the Dakota. There were some places I definitely want to hit up food wise but none of them in area. Quite often I see joints on social media file them away on my Yelp bookmarks. My cousin brought up her Yelp app to look up my suggestion - she had it bookmarked too! It was a long standing restaurant so It was fate! So we headed on in. Upon walking in there's a little bar area. Look like they had a decent collection. Its smelled just the right amount of cooking garlic & fresh air. We were seated in a booth. They had the classic individual Chinese horoscope paper table mats - always fun conversation while waiting for food. They had a large selection of chino Latino inspired dishes. Different types of rice, beans & even plantains to eat with your main protein. We order the crispy chicken & green sauce which is celebrated on most the reviews we saw. The food was delicious it came out quick, fresh & generous portions. But at the end of the day the food is soo good we had none left! read more

I was influenced & La Dinastia has been on my list since pandemic times (thanks @RighteousEats !) & the upper west side seems so far, but this restaurant is a block away from the 1/2 train at 72nd St. It's actually a very busy vibrant commercial street hub - Gray's Papaya on the corner. This restaurant sits comfortably on the middle of the block and definitely looks like it's been there for a while. I think for over 30 years? Yes I came for the fried chicken and green sauce. They have a $15.50 lunch special but ended up picking up dinner since I was finally in the area. The #12 Crackling Chicken (white meat) w/ Pork Fried Rice is $26. The portion is Very Generous! Literally 6 large pieces of chicken breast (split open thinly & battered). I made sure to ask for the green sauce & they gave me a little bag of 3 containers. It's a kind of cilantro garlic herby aoli. I always expect a kind of Mama's Empanadas (Colombian) spicy version, but this (maybe Peruvian?) will always be mayo-forward? It's tasty, but nothing *So special - better than the Chino Peruvian place in my Queens neighborhood; but idk it's mayo. For some reason they gave me a House Special Fried Rice instead of the Pork Fried Rice that comes with the order. This was excellent! (Haven't had American-style Chinese Food in years...cuz when you grow up selling quality versions of it...) Had large cubes of seared! ham, char sui (Roast Pork) & bouncy shrimp. Nice umami undertones. About the chicken - it was good, medium crispy, medium juicy, slightly brined & well made. BUT - it's Just Fried Chicken. TBH after a few bites, I wonder if they're inspired by Popeyes. The chicken meat is better than Popeyes, but overall that's what it reminded me of (& Popeyes does a good job btw). IDK - I was influenced to expect some kind of special seasoning with the chicken, maybe a Chinese salt & pepper blend? I wonder if I'd like the bone-in chicken / dark meat option more. I recommend this combo meal, would be interested in seeing how their other dishes are if I had a group to eat with. Happy to support a small business. I froze the other 3 chicken pieces for a future meal. Wonder if one of the little green sauces freezes well too. The restaurant feels really homey and was full on a 6:30 PM on a Sunday. But people didn't seem to have to wait too long. There were a few customers waiting for to-go orders alongside me at the front bar area. It's funny when the young staff acts abruptly rude "How many!", but you know they're 2nd Gen. hope this business sticks around for many more years, very 80's - 90's Chinese American Latin feel! read more

I've been eyeing this restaurant for the longest- the food was so good. We were taken in right away (go when they open) and we had the owner serve us. He was very friendly and prompt with our request. Also love getting free bread to start. The ambience is casual and they have light music playing in the background. I was really excited to try this place after hearing all the hype but was left a little disappointed and with a bad taste in my mouth. Here's why they get 3.5 stars from me: - #1: we stopped by Friday afternoon, just in time to beat the dinner rush .. there was only three other tables taken and two were booths, we couldn't sit at one because apparently the stroller would be in the way - #2: I noticed all tables have bread with butter as soon as they sat, we were never offered ... and one table they shared a meal; I guess it was because they were regulars - #3: my grilled salmon was raw, it had to be sent back ... good flavor though and the pieces were large - #4: if you're going to have something on your menu, at least spell it right ... it's LOMO SALTADO not LOMO SALTEADO. We expected it to be a Peruvian dish since it has the name, Nope nothing like it. First off it was sweet and very oily ... there was like 3 fries and the beef pieces just didn't make sense. Please just remove this item from your menu or change the name ... - #5: I get it the place was practically empty since it's massive but there is no need to breathe down our necks while we eat, there was like 3 guys surrounding our table - #6: a little tip for the girls in the front, don't rush the lady with the baby in the stroller, you want to get paid right? Please don't make it seem like we were an inconvenience to the customers that were coming in .. they saw my stroller and had no issue waiting Sadly I wouldn't come back but thank you for a delicious salmon meal and the tostones were bomb! read more

A must-visit spot. The menu gives lots of options, but the go-to is ALWAYS the boneless crackling chicken. Their green sauce is delicious, not spicy though. Chino Latino cuisine rocks! I haven't tried this spot near Central Park & im glad i did. We had noodles, mixed veggies & fried chicken. All savoury & filling. Place has no wait on a lunch time/ week day. Saw a lot of take outs being prepared and what looked like frequent costumers. Our meal came out fast too. We were not rushed to leave, unlike most Chinese restos in the city. Love the old school vibes of this place. read more

This place is amazing! Certified banger. The staff, especially the owner is so cool. There's photos along the walls of celebrities/regulars that visit which shows he cares. The food is all so good. The chicken lunch special can honestly be shared from how much they give you. The flavors are definitely there. I wish I can go back often. read more
We had boneless chicken crackling with pork fried rice and lomo salteado. My wife felt like the pork in the pork fried rice and green sauce are really good but that overall the food is bland. I felt both food items were alright. Additionally, I had the corn soup with chicken was decent. My wife concurs and feels it was also a bit bland. read more

Came for the fried chicken and it did not disappoint! The portions are massive and the prices are super reasonable. The chicken was a little on the dry side, but honestly still very delicious. Next time I'll have to splurge on the green sauce. The side of fried rice was also very solid. An interesting fusion I haven't heard of until coming to NYC, but this is comfort food to another level. read more

WOW! Location/service/vibe/food all ama! 10 out of 10 highly recommended. I got the ropa veija (shredded beef) and my SO ordered the the fried chicken cracklings. Both dishes were flavorful. And that green sauce I believe the guy who took our order + served our dishes was the owner? Very nice guy! You feel welcomed, the amount of food is great, prices even better. This was my first time trying a Chino-Latino fusion restaurant and I enjoyed it! You can tell that this place has history, from the old school vibe with small booths divided by plastic screens, to the photos of various celebrities with the chef/owner on the walls. The menu is expansive, with a section for more classic Chinese dishes, and a section for fusion dishes. I came here with a friend and we split the social-media hyped Fried Chicken Cracking with French fries, Chicken Lo Mein, and Eggplant in Garlic Sauce. The Chicken Crackling was delicious and lived up to the hype. Super crispy and extremely tasty with the green sauce (creamy and tangy- what is in this?!). The Eggplant in Garlic sauce was well seasoned and super saucy, if a bit salty. It went really well over the side of rice it comes with. The Chicken Lo Mein was fine, nothing remarkable. Service was a bit slow, but they were also busy. Overall was really happy to try out this place, and would definitely recommend trying the Chicken Crackling with green sauce- it did not disappoint! read more

Huge portions. Savory and delicious. I love the green sauce. The crackling chicken is the best. The egg rolls were a little too hard (like left in the deep fryer die too long) but still tasty. I've gotten many friends and coworkers into this place. read more
The boneless fried chicken was skinless and crunchy and not dry. This was the best thing we ordered. The black beans were really good too. The shrimp with lobster sauce was tasty but the shrimp was slightly undercooked so I left most of it. I'll be back when I get the next fried chicken craving. read more

I, like a lot of people here it seems, tried out La Dinastia after seeing it on Instagram. Our party of four stopped by just before 2 on a Sunday and the place was pretty full. We decided to order a bunch of things to share: Boneless chicken crackling with house special fried rice - this is their most popular dish. The chicken wasn't dry but there was a lot of breading on it. Fried rice wasn't anything amazing Chicken with rice (Dominican style) - this is definitely not Dominican style. It was basically just yellow rice with leftover pieces of sliced chicken breast (it had that old chicken taste), topped with peas. We also ordered a side of plantains to go with it and that was probably the only thing good about this dish Lomo beef - I thought this would be more Latin style but it was more like Chinese pepper steak. It's beef sautéed with peppers, onions, tomatoes, soggy French fries (very weird - like did they just have this leftover and decided to throw it in there?) in a sweet and sour sauce. Though it wasn't what I was expecting, this dish was actually pretty good. Definitely the best of the bunch, but also SUPER oily Sorry to say but overall, this place was overrated. The average cost of a dish here is $20-$25. Yes, they give big portions but when the food is meh, you don't even want it all. I would rather go to any Chinese takeout spot, pay 1/3 of the price, and the food would probably be better. read more
La Dinastia is a Chino-Latino eatery that is located in the UWS - I was excited to check them out, as I had heard a lot about their boneless fried chicken. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering various appetizers, soups, salads, egg foo young, chop suey, fried rice, lo mein, beef/chicken/pork/seafood/vegetarian dishes, combination plates, house specialties, lunch specials, and sides. We came here for a later lunch, and we ordered from the lunch specials menu: +the Fried Boneless Chicken Crackling with Rice & Beans, opting for the moro +the Shredded Beef with Rice & Beans, opting for the roast pork fried rice With each dish, you get to chose from white, yellow, brown, moro (rice and beans already mixed in), or roast pork fried rice. The chicken was okay - it was freshly fried, with a nice crispy exterior with juicy meat inside; definitely having this with the green creamy sauce is key; I wasn't a fan of the moro, as it was kind of lukewarm/cold, and there was hardly any flavor to it. The shredded beef was definitely the better of the two dishes - it definitely was not what we were expecting, as it was more like a tomato-based stew type of a dish - the beef was tender and it was flavorful. The hubs really enjoyed the roast pork fried rice. Portions are super generous! Staff were kind and friendly. Wasn't my fav. To be fair we ordered Chinese food not Cuban. The wonton soup broth zero flavor I had to add a lot of soy sauce to it. It was like water. The chicken and broccoli was bleh. The shrimp in lobster sauce was actually good, fried rice unremarkable. read more
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city! I'm obsessed with their crackling chicken with the green sauce. Squeeze some lemon on top and it's perfect. I have to order it every visit. On the last visit, we tried the oxtail soup, eggplant, noodles (for long life), crackling chicken and all the various sides like beans and rice. Stop by for their lunch specials offered Mon-Sat. It's a treat to find a weekend lunch special in town! I like that this place is spacious and the crowd seems friendly. It's a great place to go with friends and share a few delicious plates without breaking the bank. The service is always great here, too. Highly recommend that you stop by! read more
