    carne de asada huarache

summary: located in a (bit sketch) strip mall on route 1, they offer a ton of baked goods options (think grocery store style bagels/donuts presentation) as well as sweet treats. But, we went for their Mexican food options and were very happy with our meals. service: the ordering is done kind of like a fast-food restaurant, but they bring the food to your table after they give you a number. Everyone there was very nice. There are a lot of signs written in Spanish (like something on the bathroom) and sometimes I was a bit lost because there wasn't always an English translation and Spanish is definitely not my strong suit. food: we ordered a tres leches and weren't all too blown away by their interpretation of that dish. That being said, our entrees came out (tacos + huarache) and they were delicious. The ingredients felt fresh and vibrant and the flavors were well balanced. Note: this is also one of those places where "spicy means spicy." The sauces they provide have a real kick to them, so be warned before you pour them on your meal (they are delicious though). Conclusion: La Espiga de Oro Bakery has a very unassuming look from the outside, but provides a lot of great options to try. They have pretty ample seating on the inside, but be warned that the parking situation isn't exactly the best. I'd recommend trying if you're looking for good Mexican food in the area!

This used to be R and R Taqueria. Now it's a bakery and restaurant. The food is great for the most part. They have Mexican, Guatemalan, Salvadoran, and Honduran dishes all in one place.

    Awesome!!! Come on in

I absolutely love, love, love this place! I have only gone twice but it's absolutely delicious…read more Especially if you come earlier in the day. I will say it's pricey but I mean what do you expect for high-quality yummy desserts. The donuts filled with some type of seasonal filling is my fav! The drinks there are also worth trying. My favorite was the tiramisu ice coffee (I think that's what it's called). Onlyyyyy thing I would say is the seating, not much seating for the amount of people who go but nonetheless still great spot.

I enjoyed how fresh and cohesive the flavors were! There's also a variety of pastries offered. These are baked in their Columbia location and brought to Arundel Mills. I was intrigued by the variety of savory treats, some topped with cheese and beef, others with vegetables. I was also delighted to see macaroons, that looked pretty authentic. With all the solid options present, I landed in a pistachio donut! Now, I will say I had a bit higher expectations for the donut. The donut itself was delicious, but I would have appreciated more pistachio throughout the cream in the center or maybe even skipping out on the cream altogether. Overall I think it was certainly worth a try. The matcha, for sure, stole the show! I will be back to try another flavor of matcha and a savory pastry!

**Charlsie's Bakehouse - Catonsville, MD**…read more So curiosity got the best of me this morning and I popped into the new bake shop in downtown Catonsville--**Charlsie's Bakehouse**. Let me just say: this place is *cool.* Like, 1950s corner-bakery-in-Baltimore cool. From the moment you step inside, you feel like you've time-traveled into something special. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was pumped to see breakfast sandwiches on the menu. I went with the **"Do You Kiss Your Mother With That Mouth"** ($7.50), and without exaggeration--it was **BY FAR** the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The biscuit? Light and flaky. The sausage? Grilled to perfection. The egg? Right at that sweet spot--done but still runny. Absolute harmony. And if the sandwich was *that* good, you better believe I'll be back for dessert. The key lime pie, hand pies, and donuts all looked dangerous in the best way. They've got seating for 20-25 inside and even Wi-Fi if you need to hang a while. Welcome to Catonsville, **Charlsie's Bakehouse**--you're already a favorite. Eat well, my friends. #wheresaaroneating #CharlsiesBakehouse #CatonsvilleEats #BestBreakfastEver

We enjoyed most everything, but I will say what dropped this a star was the fact that I was so excited for the biscuit and jam, and unfortunately it tasted burnt. It wasn't visibly burnt so I didn't say anything, but the taste was just off. If I find myself back there I won't be going for that - but will seek out some other treats for sure!

After stalking this dessert truck for a few weeks, I decided to place a special order. All I can…read moresay is, BELIEVE THE HYPE!!! From the moment I contacted LaToya (the owner) to the time I picked up my order, everything went effortlessly! Champagne & Cupcakes stopped by my neighborhood food truck gathering, but I was out of town. After that event, and hearing so many positive compliments, I started to follow her social media pages and I was even more impressed. Champagne & Cupcakes has a food truck and stops by events, has a set time they sell during the weekends and takes special orders. What I absolutely love about this shop is that you can mix and match your cupcake flavors. Meaning, I ordered 24 cupcakes and was able to mix and match as many flavors as I want. I ordered the Oreo, Biscoff, Strawberry Shortcake, Red Velvet, Peach Cobbler and Banana Pudding. When I say my entire family loved these cupcakes, WE LOVED THESE CUPCAKES!! Moist, delicious and quality ingredients used in every bite!! Don't think cupcakes is the only thing this shop sells, because they carry peach cobblers, milkshakes and so much more! The fact that LaToya is so personable, friendly and professional, made my experience top tier! Did I mention Champagne & Cupcakes is Black and Woman Owned?! After my family devoured the cupcakes, I reached out to the owner to let her know that she put BOTH feet in those cupcakes! I am a new fan and a lifetime customer!! PS - LaToya is now my new BFF and Cupcake Pusher! Lol Give them a try, you won't be disappointed! And if you happen to have an extra strawberry shortcake left behind, hook me up! Lol
