There was a glitch today with the delivery of my order to the table. Two out of four were served, then they came with the third order. Not sure why this location is marked "Permanently Closed". It is definitely open. I came here with 2 friends on a Saturday close to 1pm. There were a couple tables open. I got the Hot Mama and a coffee. The coffee was average. But the Hot Mama was pretty good. Not sure how to describe it aside from being a flavor bomb. I don't think the grits were particularly cheesy but there was cheese somewhere on the biscuits. It seemed like the owner knew some of the regulars. The food was absolutely delicious - the crepes I ordered had the best texture and came with fresh, delicious filings and toppings. By far my favorite thing was the coffee though - the EZ special latte with condensed milk will haunt my dreams! I'm almost glad we were visiting from New York, otherwise I would be stopping by for this coffee every weekend. The place was pretty busy and the food did take a while to come out, you order at the counter and then find a free table. Even though it was busy (Mother's day), the tables continued to open up pretty quickly throughout our time there. A few steps above your average cafe. The location is a little hidden so you would want to use a GPS or you could definitely miss it. I grabbed a breakfast meal the other day. Decided I would stay and eat there since the ambiance was so cute and welcoming. There was no wait and plenty of seating around 10am. It's self seating but they also help with seating if you have any questions. There's a parking lot but there isn't much parking since these business aren't servicing people who would be staying long. I have to admit, when I visited this place shortly after they opened a few years ago, I didn't care for it and never returned. But this week a friend wanted to meet there mid-week for brunch so I agreed. I am so sorry Cafe Ez! This visit was fabulous!! Our server was so sweet and took care of our every need. I ordered the stuffed omelet with potatoes and toast, my friend had the "Lola" crepe with strawberries and blueberries. It looked luscious!! My serving was so much, I took half home to be had for breakfast the next day. My friend and I had a lot of catching up to do and the staff was gracious enough to clear our table and allow us all the time we needed. It's definitely a child friendly environment, as I observed a few families with their children coming in to enjoy a meal. It's a cozy atmosphere, for sure. It's not loud and you can share this brunch time with a friend, a loved one, or a small group of friends. The menu was filled with delicious delectables- brunchy, lunchy meals. Everything from made-your-way omelettes to waffles to even Korean specialties like Bulgogi beef. We all settled on something different. One friend had turkey sausage, potatoes, eggs and the cinnamon roll French toast. She loved it all! She mentioned how perfectly well made the French toast was. My other friend had the Nutella waffle with turkey bacon and eggs. Her only complaint was that she wished she had another waffle! Her son had the chicken tenders and French fries. I thought it was a nice touch to cut the chicken into smaller pieces, which made it easier to pick up. I perused the menu for a bit and decided to try the Sassy EZ Potato Hash. It came with chorizo, cheesy eggs, potatoes, corn, beans, crema, avocado and served over homemade corn tortillas. It was SO GOOD!!! I throughly enjoyed this dish. It wasn't too filling but very satisfying! Even my friend's son approved and enjoyed a couple of bites, lol! We didn't indulge in dessert, but EZ does offer dessert crepes and other sweets. High key obsessed with Cafe EZ 2 This is their second location (hence the name) - their first spot is in Ellicott City. They're officially one of my go-to spots for breakfast/brunch. Here's everything my friend and I got this time around: Santa-Fe Omelet ($14) - perfect portion size + stuffed with TONS of goodies and served home fries & toast. You can also get salad or grits if you prefer! Cinnamon Roll French Toast ($13) - SO stinkin' good. If you're craving something sweet, I highly recommend getting this. Minje and I got this to share as a third dish, and I feel like I ate most of it, lol. 10/10. You can also pay an extra $7 to make it a platter and get eggs, meat and home fries/grits. Havana Crepe ($15) - hearty and big! This was stuffed with chicken, chorizo, cheese, and egg then smothered in sour cream, avocado, salsa, and chipotle sauce. Nice and flavorful, highly recommend. They're known for their crepes so make sure you get a savory or sweet one to try when you go. In addition to breakfast items, they also offer rice bowls, burgers, sandwiches and more. They used to only be open 'till lunch, but now they're offering dinner on Fridays & Saturdays. PS. They get pretty dang busy so try to get there early if you can. This Cafe shows up on all of the local food blogs. I recently placed a large order for Mothers Day. The staff was so friendly with preparing our meal and making sure it was accurate. We ordered the Maryland crab cake, Sante Fe omelet, kimchi fried rice, and creme brulee pancakes. Wow everything here was delicious. The crab cakes had a nice amount of fresh lump crab meat. The creme brulee pancakes are a must order! Thick pancakes with a rich brulee sauce. I've been to the other location and I like this one more since its not as crowded. This restaurant is really clean and they have a large dining area. Portion sizes here are definitely fair. They fill each box with plenty of food. The wait staff seems very new and a little unexperienced. They made rookie mistakes like not bringing silverware or cutting off the stem on top of the strawberries.
