Authentic, even though I grew up on pan dulce, there's still some I haven't tried and these are great! A little hidden, but most great places are; and the owners are great!

I don't eat lots of sweet bread but yesterday I was craving it. A friend of ours told us about this new Mexican bakery that opened just around the corner from our house. The prices are low like most Mexican bakeries are. These places rely mainly on word of mouth to promote their business. They've been open for only a month and say they've been doing really well. They also sell barbacoa, menudo, posole, burgers and other foods but their main thing is bread. No tables but that's ok. Swing in for a sweat or savoury dish. P.s Try the picadillo burrito, it's good.

    Nice, and welcoming.

Bread selection is wide which is good but bread tastes OK. I think it's same quality as any Latin supermarket I've been to.

Some things are just worth coming home too. Piefalootin never disappoints. The hardest decision we…read morehave is what kind of pie we're going to get. There are so many choices! Today I got a build-a-pie. You heard it right. I got a little of everything that added up to a full pie. This place is like grandma's on steroids. My favorite is the coconut cream pie. Always thick, creamy and delicious. Piecrust can't be beat. If you like a traditional pie. She always has the basic staples plus lots of new and exciting flavor combinations.. Follow her on Instagram for daily specials. Wish I lived in town and could visit more often. If you want to have a pie for the holiday, be sure to order ahead. The window typically closes a week or two out. Staff is always friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and ever so helpful. Cherri dispositions abound at this Sweet establishment. You'll probably even meet the owner, TRACY. She's definitely involved and keeps things running smoothly. Everyone knows about this place. If you haven't been be sure to stop by. You can take a pie to go or eat inside at one of the mini cute tables.

An absolute gem in Richardson -- we'll definitely be back!…read more La Casita Bakeshop completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming, and our server Diana made the whole experience. She was knowledgeable, genuinely enthusiastic about the menu, and so pleasant to talk to -- exactly the kind of hospitality that turns a good meal into a great one. The food itself was outstanding. We ordered the French Toast and the Birria Brisket Croque Madame, and both were incredible -- beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The Croque Madame especially blew us away; it's the kind of dish you think about after you leave. The side hash rounded it all out perfectly. And then there are the pastries. We grabbed the Mango Sticky Rice Cream Puff and the Amaretto Cherry Basque Cheesecake Brownie from the Weekend Selections -- both were stunning, not just visually but in flavor. The cheesecake brownie topped with those cherry meringues looked almost too good to eat. Almost. Washed everything down with the Salted Honey Matcha and it was the perfect companion to the whole spread. Honestly, the hardest part was choosing -- the menu is so creative and well thought-out that we already have a list of things we want to try next time. And there will be a next time. La Casita has earned a regular customer. Highly, highly recommend.

Great food, but front-of-house operations and management are a total mess…read more My family and I finally visited La Casita Bakeshop over the weekend after seeing a lot of marketing for it. While the food itself was definitely good, the front-end operations were incredibly poor, and the service left a lot to be desired. The serving staff seemed completely untrained and lacked basic common sense, right down to knowing how to properly handle plates and utensils. To make matters worse, we encountered the shift manager, Jesus, on Sunday, May 24th. Not only was he arrogant, but he completely lacked Customer Service 101 skills. At one point, he told us the wait time would be an hour, yet there were four completely empty tables inside and servers were just standing around idle. He is clearly an inexperienced restaurant manager who does not know how to efficiently run a floor or manage a team. A major caution for potential guests ordering takeout: The staff has absolutely no clue how to properly pack food. They packed runny eggs into a standard cardboard box, which inevitably leaked right through the holes and made a massive mess everywhere (see attached picture). On top of that, for a bakery and coffee spot, they didn't even carry basic options like 2% or Lactaid milk. My humble suggestion to the owners is to invest some serious time and guidance into improving your front-of-house operations and management training. The kitchen is doing its part, but the front-end experience and sloppy packaging are dragging the whole establishment down.
