I love that this little place is nearby, but their attention to detail is lacking. This isn't the first time my order has been inaccurate, but in frustrated enough to leave a review. When ordering, I ordered a salad to-go with, of course, dressing on the side. They called my name to give me a ready-made salad on a plate. When advised it was to-go, they dumped the salad into a box and threw in plasticware. (See image.) This lunch is inedible. read more

I love coming to Latham for a study session or to get work done. You can start with coffee and a pastry or croissant - even if it's just popping in before work (it's pretty easy to park in the mornings) but sometimes I stay long enough to grab lunch too! Their soup/salad/sandwich combo is perfect and a great price at around $11. They have free refills on the teas - the watermelon one is my favorite. They do custom cakes at super affordable prices as well, and have a cake book to look through. Sometimes we grab food to go and eat at the downtown square. My son likes to come with me and grab a treat My warning for lunch on a weekday is that parking is insane/difficult. Weekends are fine, but Unless you have a good chunk of time to grab lunch you are going to end up doing some walking, so it doesn't end up being a quick bite. Mornings are better. read more

Wow what a hidden gem. This great spot is only a few minutes drive from the Harley Davidson dealership in town. I could see myself taking a nice ride and stopping here for lunch. They have fantastic sandwiches. It is not just the bakery. The coffee is great. The service is amazing and the food is fresh. I will be back. read more

What a cute little bakery/cafe in downtown Garland. I didn't get to try any of their food, but I did grab an iced coffee and some of their sweet treats. Their coffee was good, but basic. Nothing outstanding about it, but I have to rave about their sweets. The moisture and texture of their cookies were on point! And their cheesecake was great as well. I was so hoping that this place was going to be good but once again another epic fail. The soups taste like something that you would by from a low end grocery store and the croissant taste like they were purchased from your local Sam's. I will say that the brownie was good and hopefully the German Chocolate cake is good as well. read more

The bakery is right off the newly refurbished downtown Garland Square, across from a hemp shop. It's clean and spacious with a lot of cafe table seating. They have a full menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Their customer cake prices are reasonable. The cake I had was deliciously sweet and moist with an almost fudge-like frosting. A bit sweet for breakfast, but I have no regrets. This place would be perfect for working except the Wi-Fi connection was a bit spotty. The barista was friendly and kind. They have the best Italian cream cake! My birthday celebration was complete with this cake. Their service is great. My first chance trying them was when I did the downtown garland tour. The city had some pastry's from Latham and they were so good I am glad I finally had time to go in the actual shop. My first time today was a fantastic experience. Was not sure what to get and was recommended the chocolate croissant which was delicious!! Met some friends here for dinner. They have a rewards program and give an educator discount. The service was great with friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The portions were really good, especially for halves, and they don't skimp on ingredients! Where most places use blue cheese crumbles on their salads that can be dry, the blue cheese on this salad is fresh and creamy. Their poppyseed dressing is not too sweet and the salad itself is very fresh. Granted, there's nothing overly creative about a club sandwich, but fresh ingredients on fresh toasted sourdough bread make it delish and that's all that matters The sweets were taken to go for the boyfriend, so I don't know how good they are but everything looked so good it was difficult to choose! I really wanted one of everything...I don't know who does all that baking, but they must weigh 500 lbs! How could you possibly bake all of that deliciousness and not eat it? read more

Their display is impressive and it'll make your mouth water. They also make custom cakes for any occasion. Not only that, they serve scrumptious cafe lunch like salad, soups, and different types of grilled cheese. However I found the baked goods to be very subpar. I ordered blueberry danish, strawberry shortcake and spinach and goat cheese quiche. Blueberry danish was the best- The filling was very good and not surprisingly too sweet. You can really taste the blueberry! It even has streussel topping. The quiche was very heavy on the pastry, and the pastry bread itself was good. It was PACKED with spinach and you can really taste it. However, it could have used alot more salt or some kind of flavorful sauce as it tasted really bland by itself. No seasoning at all! On to strawberry shortcakes.. first of all it has beautiful presentation. The cake it self was moist and sweet, while the frosting was not very sweet and marshmallowy. But I could taste that it was frost bitten and not fresh. And as someone else in the reviews said, the frosting did taste heavily like Crisco (shortening) which was not pleasant. As a fellow baker, I would rather have them use real butter and cream to make the frosting rather than use crisco just for stability! read more

I haven't been back to Garland downtown in over a year and a lot has changed. This new bakery place has variety of sweet desserts as well as breakfast and lunch options. The salad and soup were delicious and the service was quick. The food was fresh and the bread was just right, not dry but perfectly made. I really like the product here. I've probably been here at least 30 times. They make all our birthday cakes. I love all their goodies, from the coffees to the cookies. The staff is great, always friendly. My only complaint and it's kind of a big complaint is that they never clean their tables. Like I said I've been here dozens of times and have never seen anyone ever cleaning the tables. Very often, including today, I have to sit the cleanest dirty table. The dining room is so cute and you can see the thought that went in, but restaurant 101: wipe off the tables as soon as someone leaves, especially if you are asking for a tip. read more

I'm so happy Latham bakery is in garland! It's a must stop whenever we're in canton. This place has some of the best pastries I've ever had and is quite the cute space. We came in after a day on the square and luckily they still had quite a few pastries left even though it was later, the service is prompt and you order at the counter. We got the pecan sticky bun and the strawberry cheese danish. Both were excellent as expected and even tasted better the next day.
