I can't believe I've never been here before. Decided to bring my mom with me and try a tostada or something. First of all, the girl helping us was SO ACCOMMODATING and helped clean a table so that mom was more comfortable where she sat. Poor girl had to bring out 3 straw because my mom kept dropping it and she was so kind about it. We ordered a small cocktail de camarón and oysters with shrimp ceviche. It was perfect! So good! I tried placing a phone order for pick up, but I could not get a hold of the restaurant since I was close by; I went in person to place my order. On two occasions, I was outright refused service because the kitchen was "too backed up," even after I made it clear I didn't mind waiting. On my third visit, I was finally seated and placed my order at 3:10 PM. By 4:00 PM, I was still waiting while tables around me were being served. After nearly an hour, I was told my order had never even been put in. What made it worse was the lack of accountability no real apology, just a casual "I'm sorry" This shows a serious lack of professionalism and respect for customers' time. The inside ambiance is between an actual restaurant and fast food chain. The tacos and burritos were off the hook. Great quality meats. I had chili verde, asada and shrimp, and all 3 were above par. I also partook in their own style of michelada mix. Although i enjoyed it, i thought the price was a bit steep. If they brought down the price a bit for the michelada mix (as it's a separate charge) from ordering a beer. I would be downing a lot more of them. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Pretty elaborate menu and would like to try more items, but the time I went, I just got a pescado y camaron burrito. I enjoy a nice surf and turf from time to time. I also got a chile verde pork taco because it sounded fantastic. When I came in, I was greeted and sat right away. I ordered a soda and was given chips and salsa. I probably would've been super full with just that burrito, but maybe I was just hungry at the time and was curious how the chile verde was. (I ended up taking half the burrito to go because I couldn't finish it having had the taco and chips and salsa as well). The burrito was a wonderful mix of tastes and textures. The shrimp was fried crispy I believe so it gave it a little crunch in addition to the wonderful seafood flavors. Definitely would come back. However we waited almost 40 minutes for our food & we were the only ones in there at first. The food was also not great, I've had better shrimp tacos. When it was time to pay my bf saw the bill and he noticed the food was priced differently than on the menu so he told the server & the server showed him the menu and at the very bottom in small letters it said "prices subject to change without notice" I understand prices go up and they change, however it seems very misleading if the menu itself doesn't show these prices. The server said there wasn't anything she could do about it so that's that but I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

Best kept secret in La Puente. Blink and you will miss this charming place. Our friend recommended this restaurant and I'm grateful he did. The place is clean and welcoming. The service was prompt and helpful. Everything is made from scratch. The prices are below average. I tried a few items but two of them stood out. Their chile verde taco is amazing. Hands down my favorite. Small handmade tortillas smeared with beans and fresh tasty chile verde. I've never had one like that. I was also impressed with their buffalo shrimp. Huge generous portions of shrimp smothered with buffalo sauce. Perfectly cooked and seasoned shrimp. A perfect balance of flavors and texture. Even the fries were top notch. We'll seasoned and crunchy. Their happy hour beer prices are second to none. Honorable mention to their michelazo which is a michelada mix. Without beer it was great but once I added beer it became a legend. My child enjoyed her generous portions of chicken nuggets. This is a great little spot to get some tasty Mexican food. Their Jamaica is delicious and definitely my favorite. After coming here countless times, I feel like the service could use some improvement. The waitress is always super nice, but I think she struggles without extra help.
