LA Fitness closed the Mid-Boca location at the beginning of August, and like everyone else who belonged to that gym, we've been scrambling to find a new place to work out--and, for me, to find classes that fit into my schedule. I came to this gym last week for a Pilates class. When I walked in, I noticed there was no air-conditioning. I figured it wasn't a huge deal for Pilates or yoga. In fact, I like a good hot yoga class. When I came back this week, the air-conditioning still wasn't working. That seemed a little strange, so after class I asked the instructor how long the AC had been out. Her answer? Three months!!! This was t just in the aerobics room but the entire gym and it had that stale air smell. Honestly 3 months without air-conditioning in a gym is absolutely ridiculous. This is not just temporary maintenance issue. It raises serious questions about how much the company actually cares about the people who are paying to use these facilities. Classic bait-and-switch. I recently moved to the area and signed up for the "free" 3-day pass because I genuinely wanted to try the gym before deciding on a membership. I showed up at 5:30 am, only to be told it wasn't active and that I had to talk to a sales rep first ... something that's conveniently not disclosed when you sign up and impossible at that hour. Being told the alternative was a $20 day pass when I already had a free pass felt absurd. Misleading, frustrating, and an awful first impression. This is a horrible tactic in 2026, honestly. I came in for my first day pass and was helped by two gentlemen at the desks to the left. They were very kind, helpful, welcoming, and efficient. However, when I went to scan my QR code to enter, the guy with locs at the front was talking to someone and then mumbled something. I ignored it because it wasn't clear he was speaking to me. Then he called out, and when I said "Huh?" he said, "Excuse me, I need to take a picture." After that, he asked me, "Do you know English?"--but not in a curious or polite way. I responded yes. He wasn't being nice and was clearly trying to be funny for his friend. I told him he hadn't been loud enough, and he then proceeded to yell, "AM I BEING LOUD ENOUGH NOW?" He pointed at me and laughed while looking at his friend. I found his behavior racist, rude, and condescending. I can't believe he's front desk staff. This gym is disappointing to say the least. Closes at 7pm on the weekends. ‍The pool has been closed for months. The gym equipment needs maintenance, like padding on the leg machines. The men's bathroom is generally pretty gross. The whole facility needs renovation. There's no real adequate stretch space, unless you can squeeze in to the classrooms. The water fountains dribble out water only barely enough to allow you to sip almost directly from the spout It's best there's enough to get the job done- but is that really what we are paying for? read more

Went here on a Saturday, the location is a bit odd for a LA Fitness. The gym is part of a larger building with many other businesses. The gym itself was one of the largest I have seen for a La fitness. However, even on a Saturday, the gym was still pretty busy, so I can't imagine how busy it would be on a Monday. They didn't have a large selection of dumbells, so I am sure during the week that would become an issue. The facility did seem pretty clean and they had plenty of plated weights. They have a basketball court, pool, sauna, smoothie bar, bike room, and more. read more

The LA Fitness location at Ft. Lauderdale/Cypress Creek has had a problem with the A/C for several months. It has not worked properly and it is 5+ degrees hotter upstairs, where all the cardio equipment is, as compared to downstairs. Management is aware of this problem and said they have put orders in to have the A/C fixed but can not get LA corporate to approve the work. read more

if you are looking for an LA fitness with quality amenities, the Deerfield Beach location might not be for you. I was completely grossed out by the hot tub. It had only one working jet, while the others were very weak. The mold and dirt in it made me get out immediately. not to mention the rust and water damage. The workout facility is much better though. So if you are coming in for a quick pump then i do recommend coming here for that. The equipment was clean for the most part and had more equipment than other LA fitness gyms that I have been to. The locker room is nice and kept clean. read more

Communication is horrible. Was on a three day guest pass, they have 1 week guest passes sitting on the table as you walk out. You would think I would be able to come back and use it since it says it's for non members. When I go to redeem it they tell me I can't and need to sign up or pay for a day pass???? Was looking forward to a work out. A complete waste of my time and pre workout. On top of that, they only have one official squat rack and two smaller ones in a super tiny section in the corner of the gym. If you're looking for a spacious area for deadlifts and squats this place is not it. Disappointed. read more

I've frequent quite a few LA Fitnesses across the area. This one isn't bad at all. I love the layout and they have plenty of machines to choose from. They also have different nooks to escape from prying eyes which is a huge bonus. However, in comparison to other LA Fitnesses their showers (floors mainly) are not very clean. The cold water tap does not work in the showers so if you're hoping to hop into a cold shower after your workout or sauna, that amenity is not available. Also, the sauna room does not seem to be properly sealed or insulated (is that the correct term?) so it creates a humid atmosphere throughout the ladies bathroom, shower room, and locker room. Which sucks when you're trying to cool off and stop sweating from your workout/shower before you head back to work. Three stars only because the shower/locker room situation has not been my experience in other locations. However, if you don't plan on using the amenities and you're just there for the equipment -5 stars for a great location. I definitely recommend. read more

I was kind of surprised by this La Fitness! As a whole, I am never overly impressed by any location, but I'm also too lazy to switch my membership to anywhere else. What I liked about this location is that it at least had the appearance of being clean! There was no standard LA Fitness smell to it. If you have ever worked out at one, you know what I mean. It's kind of a long building. The first floor is all of the free weights and machines. They seem to go on forever and upstairs are the cardio machine. Around the back (which seems like you're walking forever) are the lockers. The men's locker had a tv inside which was nice but odd since it was by itself in a room- no chairs. The equipment was in good shape. The staff was friendly. The one thing I didn't like is the parking situation which is a lower level garage. The spaces are tight and there are a few signs signaling that it's unsafe because of theft going on. If this location was a little closer though, I'd come here more often for sure. read more

I've been a member at LA Fitness for over 7 years and only until these last few months that I've been coming to this location have I decided to cancel my membership. I'm tired of coming here and getting bullied off of machines by nasty old men. I'm tired of cleaning up after everyone at 8:00 am because they are too lazy to re-rack their own weights. I'm currently 6+ months pregnant and the last thing I need to do is pick up 45 lb weights off of a machine I want to use because someone who was working out before me didn't have the manners or etiquette to put it back when they were done. So what do I do about this? I email corporate with the photos I attached (taken on different occasions but this happens all the time). What did I expect to change? That the manager would have staff pick up after their disrespectful members, because isn't that part of their job? To ensure that the gym is clean and not full of hazards? Nope, nothing has changed, I got some generic dismissive response. The straw that broke the camel's back for me though was getting kicked out of an 8:00 Spin class on a Monday by the instructor because apparently there was a sign up sheet that is not advertised, in person or on the app. So I speak to the manager and she confirms that is the only class that requires a sign in ahead of time. So what's my response to this? I'm done. Cancelled my membership and I'll go somewhere cheaper if I have to deal with all these issues anyways. So not worth the cost of membership and I'm the type of person who goes religiously, M-F. Poor management and bad business here. read more

I needed to cancel my LA Fitness membership and after hearing and reading horror stories on the internet I was dreading the interaction and expecting a confrontation. . I spoke to one of the managers,Rachel, and all she asked was "what was the reason for cancelling?" When I told her she said "ok fine...and you're sure you want to cancel not freeze". I said no I would like to cancel. Two seconds and a couple of key strokes later she hands me a confirmation receipt of my cancellation. She couldn't have been more pleasant or accomodating. She gave me all the info I might need about signing back up in the future ,but there was no pressure at all.Not at all what I was expecting ! Cmon bad reviewers, it's not LA Fitness' fault that members don't re rack their weights. When you're paying a low cost for gym membership you have to keep your expectations realistic. If you want towel service or constant cleaning, you're going to have yo pay a premium for an Equinox membership. Overall, this LA Fitness is well maintained and the staff are very nice. Hats off to Keith the sales manager! He's great and will get you a membership that fits your needs. The instructors at this location are also friendly and professional. I was looking for an la fitness were i could take my new baby, he said they alwas had 2 people working there (bullshit) I go in the morning and I have always found 1. the kids club is a mess, soooooo dirty, everything there is very old and dirty. the only thing good about that place is the lady that works at the kids club, I think she is russian, and she is very good with my baby. by the way let me mention that I have known other 2 young ladies, that have no idea what to do with a baby, I can only go when the russian lady is there. The facilities are incredibly clean, the machines are always in working order, and the staff is extremely nice and caring. Unusual location, with a free parking garage underground. The exercise equipments were of many options but being used. I had to settle for the reclined cycle machine upstairs. Each equipment only allows 20 minutes of use per person. I looked around and saw many people just sitting on the equipment and texting. I have been to nicer gyms where they provided easy access to sanitizing bottled spritzers and paper towels that was every 20 feet of each other. I had to get up and look around to find anything and found a paper towel dispenser and an antibacterial foam dispenser next to the drinking water fountain which was way behind where I was exercising. By the time I returned to the unit I worked out on, someone already had sat down in the cycle before I was able to sanitize it free of my own ass sweat. Umm...... ok..... That thought grossed me out honestly, as after the fact that happened, I realized that the equipment probably wasn't even sanitized before I used it. -_- So I went downstairs to the indoor basketball court where my husband was playing. There were only 2 other guys shooting hoops. I decided to join him to get a better work out. The court was clean, except for 2 empty bottles on the side. The gym's basketballs were really worn out that one was missing half of the outer layer. Good thing my husband brought his basketball (with his name on it) The lights were dim on one end. We noticed that there is no clock in there and that you either had to go to the side to check your phone or go outside to the equipment area to look for the time (the clock is above the drinking water fountains). So it was odd and we decided not to keep track of our game time. Will we return to this location? Maybe, only for a couple of games of basketball with one of his co-workers who lives in this area. read more

Good variety of machines. Smaller free weights area so benches stay busy, but not too bad at 6am. Friendly staff and sales people. Everyone's been helpful that I've spoken with at this location. They do have a couple heavy bags for boxing at this location, which is nice. They're in the room where the group classes are, so check the schedule before you go, and go between classes. No mat or turf area except for trainers to use, so no kettlebells, trx, or that kind of thing. read more

I give 3 stars because they have improved a little bit over the two years I've been a regular. I love how large and how much space this location has but for how busy it is, the machines could definitely use some updates like the other la fitness close by. A year ago the place was a bit dirty, I would always see left over garbage from the day before around the gym and the cleaning staff sitting down in the locker room for a long time. The last few months, I've seen them cleaning the machines, showers, locker room area more often and it has definitely been a lot cleaner. The fitness classes are great and staff is nice and attentive! Please fix the loud vibrating noise in the woman's locker room that's been there over a month, it shakes the lockers making it even louder! read more

Although Phil was pleasant, I am extremely disappointed in the facility. The first two spin classes I came to were canceled (no instructor). The first appt for walk thru of facility and assessment ...Tony "forgot"...second appointment...I arrived...no Tony - out sick - no call. Tried to cancel trainer package that I was told had a 30 day cancel policy... nope! 3 days! Its a joke! Still working with my bank for refund as I had to dispute charges. The status quo types who are trying to get in shape and provide a comfy "I fit in here" normality. Most of the machine and gear works. More work than other large gyms. Well lit and little if any gym stink A good variety and l number of classes. The pool, Jacuzzi and sauna all appear clean. Cons: Although they appear well kept, most of the machines and equipment are pretty old. Some look like they've existed since the gym opened in 19?? This gym has lots of free weights and machines and found them in very good condition. Not too crowded so able to get in a good workout at different times throughout the week. Large aerobics area as well. Haven't taken any classes but looks like a full schedule and I see them well attended. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
