    Rust

if you are looking for an LA fitness with quality amenities, the Deerfield Beach location might not be for you. I was completely grossed out by the hot tub. It had only one working jet, while the others were very weak. The mold and dirt in it made me get out immediately. not to mention the rust and water damage. The workout facility is much better though. So if you are coming in for a quick pump then i do recommend coming here for that. The equipment was clean for the most part and had more equipment than other LA fitness gyms that I have been to. The locker room is nice and kept clean.

From Colorado, let us in for free for a day. Great selection of equipment and friendly staff.

I was kind of surprised by this La Fitness! As a whole, I am never overly impressed by any location, but I'm also too lazy to switch my membership to anywhere else. What I liked about this location is that it at least had the appearance of being clean! There was no standard LA Fitness smell to it. If you have ever worked out at one, you know what I mean. It's kind of a long building. The first floor is all of the free weights and machines. They seem to go on forever and upstairs are the cardio machine. Around the back (which seems like you're walking forever) are the lockers. The men's locker had a tv inside which was nice but odd since it was by itself in a room- no chairs. The equipment was in good shape. The staff was friendly. The one thing I didn't like is the parking situation which is a lower level garage. The spaces are tight and there are a few signs signaling that it's unsafe because of theft going on. If this location was a little closer though, I'd come here more often for sure.

Can't re-rack your weights? Just leave them there

The monthly price is 69% higher than when I was last a member 5 years ago which far outpaces inflation with no additional benefits. Whatever. I moved back to Deerfield and purchased an unlimited use package that provides 3 guest passes per month. My first payment was 9/11/25. I went in with a guest today for a class today and they told me they sent out an e-mail in October saying they cancelled ALL guest passes. One month after they sold me 1 thing they now destroyed a HUGE part of the packages value. Forget about the embarrassment of being treated like $2000.00 annually was not enough while an important relationship was strong-armed into paying $30 for a guest. Yoga Joint's policy requires that when I cancel, I have to pay for another month before cancellation is accepted. Sounds like a bait and switch but even if not, they will need to refund that last months payment. Fortunately I cancelled this membership in October because they had charged me excessive fees mostly for classes that are half empty. Saturday morning is the only classes that I have seen filed to capacity. I did not read the fine print in my agreement as I had a towel, mat, yogi toe and bottle of water in my hand when I signed up for the recurring charges. So I begrudgingly ate those fees. Bottom line, I contacted my bank to fight this 1 month charge. The price somehow was $140.00 and now it's $169.00. Maybe the increase occurred in an e-mail as well. More BS. Either way it's gross that they don't warn us in class as they do advertise additional services in the yoga room once we have already set up. Bottom line: I signed up in September, they changed their policy the following month and that class they value at $30 and the 3 passes per month equates to a $90.00 value loss monthly or $1080.00 annually which is a 64% increase in the cost to this Yoga Studio. It's not ethical and it may even be illegal. Either way, their policy change voids their 1 month additional month requirement upon cancellation. They should have credited it back immediately as they knew this was happening and the reaction I had should was no surprise to them. They should have had an immediate and proper response. Many do not fight it probably because the money is insignificant to them and Yoga Joint doesn't lose enough business for them to care about the client. They didn't credit me back immediately, so I will do it my way. I expect them to fix this by the end of the day tomorrow. If not, educating as many people as I can in every possible way becomes my new second job. The Better Business Bureau and small claims court are on my schedule for tomorrow and Wednesday has additional yet different actions. It will continue daily until I get satisfaction that equates to my financial loss. I will pay the excessive fees to small claims and I will do so until the end because I will Not be taken advantage of. They should stick those costs to entitled wives with wealthy unknowing benefactors. They are not the only yoga studio in the area by a long shot and yoga is more business than moving meditations, community and positive energy lifestyles.

In my mind, if I am not blowing through 100 calories per hour, I am just not sure its worth my time. People raved about flexibility etc, but I just could not really feel any difference. Then, my friend introduced me to Keshava a few months ago and I really loved it and finally got it! To those who have said that this is not what they expected of 'classic' yoga and want to do sun salutations ad nauseum, then yeah this is definitely not it. Whats working for me: 1- This is actually hard... not like the typical 'stretching' yoga class or the dehydration inducing Bikram. I really loved how we held poses for a long time. I feel my muscle working and struggling the whole time. It is strangely relaxing to just breathe through the discomfort and recognize your body getting stronger. It may also feel harder since they actually adjust you into the right position for the best impact and stretch. No more cheating! 2- There is a strong focus on meditation... if I am not going to be blazing calories, I had better at least leave relaxed, at peace, mentally cleansed. Many classes I've tried while doing a thousand down dogs and salutations never left me feeling this good. Keshava's voice is crazy relaxing. I'm slightly addicted. 3- The price... $15 for 90 minutes! Sign me up! They also offer package deals for an even lower price 4- No two classes are alike... I learned so many new poses in one of these that I had never gotten in the various failed attempts I've made to like yoga previously. I love how I am pushed. Keshava's style is to be serious about yoga but to not take yourself too seriously. He is lighthearted and I love how just when you're at the moment of breaking a pose, he cracks a joke that makes you smile through the pain. If you take yourself too seriously, this may not be for you.

The space is nice, the music playing in the background is peaceful and well-timed, and the instructors have a great sense of humor. If you're someone who hasn't done yoga in a while, be prepared for an intense session. You'll be asked to breathe deeply and push yourself in maintaining the poses. The instructor tended to break tension by making jokes which helped a lot; I found myself laughing as much as breathing deeply at times. What I loved about the session was that there was a lot of breathing and meditation integrated into the practice. It wasn't just about the poses; as the instructor said, "I want you to smile in the midst of all the pressure, because that's what you'll be asked to do in life." I agree with other Yelpers who noted that it won't matter if you're a beginner since the instructor goes around adjusting your posture. As the classes are kept small, it never feels too crowded and the instructor is always very attentive. I also never felt self-conscious. Your muscles will be sore the next day, but it's well worth it. At the end of my session, laying down finally was bliss, and I felt like I had earned it. You'll leave feeling like a warrior, simultaneously rejuvenated and calm. The green tea (already hot and made to go) is such a nice touch at the end of the class too. I am looking forward to going back!

Blessings sent Jai Guru Dev Response to review below Jarin S. I have been practicing Transcendental Meditation since 1973. Recently I was helping Mr. Scozzari online. I created a group on FB dedicated to visions of enlightenment and was posting his events and ideas. Even sent a new student to him and now I'm so sorry. He convinced me to take the advanced technique course. I did and then found out that I was given a new Mantra completely different from my beloved original one that has been with me 51 years. Advanced TM Meditation technique never takes away the original mantra but adds another sylable to it. It's called the sleep technique done before bed. There are a few advanced techniques and they are learned in succession with time inbetween but you always have your original Mantra. Mr Scozzari and Dr Mahapatra deceived me 100%. They gave me a totally different mantra which didn't feel right. I contacted the TM main campus in Fairfield, Iowa and spoke to the head teacher who I know a long time. Told him what was going on. I was informed that Mr. Scozzari and Dr. Mahapatra were no longer affiliated with the TM organization and are prohibited by the courts to teach Transcendental Meditation. These 2 men then changed the name to Transcendental Stress Management. The courts prohibited them from using anything related to the real Transcendental Meditation organization. They have broken Vedic sacred traditions and are doing whatever they can to make money using Transcendental Meditation techniques improperly. Transcendental Meditation Advanced Techniques. Below is an explanation of the advanced technique. There is no mantra change. How can you defend such criminal behavior. This has been reported to the proper authorities. I am now back to my original Mantra and will learn the advanced technique through the proper teachings from a certified instructor directly through the Transcendental Meditation organization. This is not only a disgrace but a breach of trust and the universe is weeping. Karma will come and correct this matter in its proper time. I intend to do whatever is necessary to fight for justice. I was taken advantage and deceived. Thank God I saw through this and my heart directed me to the truth. These are not really a "course" but a simple repetition of your TM instruction in which an addition is made to your mantra (not a change of your original mantra). They don't add any time to your daily practice, you still meditate for 20 minutes twice a day.
