Poor and irregular maintenance. The POOL: I come to swim three times per week. Today it was closed for maintenance at Noon. Sometimes, they service the pool with solution while you're swimming. Overall the pool is clean but sometimes the water is not clear. I always thought the best way to do maintenance was off-peak hours; e.g., early mornings or close to closing. There was a lady taking care of a senior in a wheelchair that lost her trip today because the pool was supposed to open "in a little time". Not acceptable. They should get their act together in this regard. read more

It hasn't gotten any better. I tripped while working out on a plate that someone left behind me. I had headphones on so no I didn't notice someone just left a plate there. The worst part is when my friends went to grab the wrap and ice pack not one employee asked what happened. Or came over. Are they not supposed to file a report for injuries???? The Zumba room has been leaking for weeks and classes keep getting canceled. Many excerside machines are broken and very old and are warn out. We pay a lot for this membership compared to other gyms in the area and its frustrating to see the gym in such poor shape. Many other La Fitness are being built in neighboring cities but yet they have failed to keep this one up to date. LA Fitness please take action and fix these ongoing issues. read more

Manager said " we do not tell people they have 30 days to change the single club location" The gym is overcrowded and at max capacity. The manager was rude and said its company policy. At the time of sign up, the information was not disclosed even after mentioning I would be moving in the near future. When I recommended it should be disclosed, he said its company policy to avoid a sales person loosing their commissions. I am writing once again to express my dissatisfaction with the services provided by your gym. I have been a loyal member going 6-days a week and have been increasingly unhappy with the conditions of the gym. The afternoon/night staff is not doing their job. Upon arrival at 5AM when the gym opens the amount of weights scattered all over the place, garbage thrown on the floors around the gym/bathrooms, paper towel stations empty. Weights should be organized / re-racked from the night before along with all the trash picked up. As a customer I shouldn't have to be doing this myself nor my peers. (A few weeks ago an older gentlemen was hurt pretty bad running into an un racked weight.) Additionally, the equipment is not maintained on a regular basis. Multiple machines are constantly down for repairs/faulty. As a business owner I understand that in these current times solid employees are limited, but I expect a certain level of quality and service from the LA fitness corporation. This facility has tremendous potential. We're not asking for anything out of the ordinary. Simply to arrive at the gym with all the weights organized and a clean workout environment. If an employee is assigned to leave all the weights organized the night prior to closing the gym and another employee makes sure all the trash is picked up. This is the simple solution to this ongoing issue. The annual fee and membership fees charged yearly/monthly remain the same. Why are we receiving a watered down service? read more

If you want to avoid getting a wart or any other skin condition PLEASE AVOID COMING HERE. You are instantly greeted by the smell of sweat and rust. Rightfully so, as this is possibly THE DIRTIEST gym in Miami. Most of the equipment is dirty and rusting away. The staff here only believes in cleaning the floor (with vinegar) and not the actual equipment. I've been here when this gym opens and all the dumbbells are on the floor, barbells are not racked, AND the sweat from the very last person (from the night before) hasn't been cleaned. Notwithstanding the fact that this gym rarely (if ever) adheres to its capacity. If you go to the gym as a hang out spot, this is your place. If you actually put in the work, this is NOT for you. A covid hotspot. Mask wearing is optional and not enforced in anyway. Everyone from the janitors to the other patrons just don't wear them. I unfroze my la fitness account and stopped in here because I was nearby and what a mistake. Either the people who work and workout here don't know what covid is or don't respect it. No COVID guidelines are being followed, none are being reinforced. People walk in without masks, it's filthy, and the employees themselves do not wear masks and if they do it's well below their nose. How is this allowed? There's spinning classes happening, aerobic classes, the pool is open. I've literally seen people go to sneeze but pull their mask down to let their sneeze out?? It's that the whole point of the mask? This is absolutely ridiculous and frustrating. This gym should shut down or have corporate enforce policies and fire everyone that refuses to follow them. The manager has been told about these issues twice in the last two weeks. He walks around and sees how many Machines are out of order, how many TVs on the treadmills are not working, how much trash is in the cupholder of the machines, how dirty the showers are by the pool and in the locker rooms, but allegedly all is fine. TVs on the treadmills do not all work, as seen in d pics. 10/11/18 update - TVs on the treadmills don't work properly. Only 1-2 good spin instructors. The other evening instructor is a pudgy guy wearing baggie sweats and walks around most of the time. Pool shower still has nose snot on the walls. I'm guessing people blowing their noses after the pool. Staff just hangs out playing on their phones. Weights everywhere, trash on every cup holder of a lot of machines. read more

Let me elaborate.. half of hialeah is here and more than likely in their day to day clothes. Some work out and some just keep company. Irregardless, it's a gym. (in my very Miami voice) This is a new LA Fitness and not a remodeled Ballys. They have a good set up with the machines including a training area. Except it's ONLY for the trainers unlike some other LA Fitnesses I've been to that are pretty flexible with the area. They did have a basketball court, racquetball courts, fitness room, pool and sauna. Fitness classes are available. I get the job done here. Always want to treat myself to a nice cold beer after too. People critique a gym and they don't realize certain aspects are out of the control of the facility, for example, the amount of people who attend. On a Monday night, you can certainly expect to wait on every machine or weight. Everyone and their mom knows Monday's are the busiest day at the gym. So criticizing this gym based on occupancy is idiotic. The employees are chilling behind the front desk instead of re-racking weights. I wish people in Hialeah would learn to put their weights back. This problem only occurs at this LA (I know because I frequent three different LA gyms) however the employees need to get to it!! There's always tons of weights scattered on the floor and no employee to be seen. Occasionally you'll see a weakling with a cart collecting weights and putting them back but he works so slow his work gets undone within seconds. The ladies locker room is usually spotless. The bathroom needs more work though. Women don't flush the toilet but the cleaning crew doesn't pick up the paper on the floor very often. At least it doesn't smell terrible... If you're concerned about the people in this gym, there's a variety. I barely see people wipe their sweat off the equipment but I never met anyone who wasn't willing to let me squeeze in a set in between theirs during busy hours. An update two years later: This gym hasn't changed. Every other machine is broken and never gets fixed. Most equipment is outdated. Not a single weight reracked. The people of Hialeah are still annoying as ever. It's a chonga and meat head fashion show. Everyone seems to have a story to tell their gym partner and working out is secondary to that. Let me start off by saying that I do not understand all the negative reviews. I mean, yes, this is in Hialeah and Hialeah isn't known for anything except being The City of Progress, but really all, you might want to step outside of the bubble. I typically go to the LA Fitness on Coral Way and I have to say this one in Hialeah, GASP, is way better. Stepping in, you cannot help but see how airy it is. It feels so spacious. I went last Saturday to go do a yoga class and not only were the staff nice in directing me on my merry way, but heading into the room where the yoga was being held, the amount of materials was staggering. They have mats, they have punching bags, and all of this with a modern finish. The floor is wooden, clean, and there are windows letting the sun in. Not to mention that if you leave the room, you will eventually notice that this LA Fitness actually has a swimming pool inside. I don't know about the rest of you, really, but while I haven't seen the entire location just yet, I cannot help but be impressed. read more

I like coming to work out at this LA Fitness on 49th st, it's local to me it's spacious and I feel the good vibes from the staff and the club members. Speaking of the staff, I had the opportunity of having Barbara and Raul as personal trainers and they're the best. They're professional and go the extra mile to make you feel great about yourself. I' give them both a 5 stars for their hard work and dedication and I give the club a 4 stars. I've been a member of LA Fitness for years and pay for a membership that allows me to go to any location. I recently starting coming to the Hialeah location and I have to say it might be my favorite location so far. I definitely prefer it over the closest one to my house (Doral Location.) This location is huge. They have so many cardio machines: treadmills, stair masters, ellipticals. In the doral location, there is only 3 stair masters, so I'm in heaven when I come here. There is also a lot of space and plenty of machines that target different muscles. This location has a sauna, pool and jacuzzi. The lockers and bathrooms are always clean and well maintained. I've yet to see any "schedule for service" sign on any of the machines(This is a Good thing- meaning all machines are available for use.) The gym is located in a strip mall and there is plenty of parking. I like that the spinning room is open and can be used when there is no spinning class taking place. There are showers in the locker rooms and they have soap dispensers with soap available for use. read more

I'm giving one star because It's the absolute minimum this app let's me put. Beware before creating a membership here, they don't just charge double than any other gym but it is a pain to cancel your membership with them. I have been calling them and even corporate and I don't know who was more useless. I spoke with the manager and he didn't even give me his name. Right now my membership is frozen because they say they can't cancel over the phone in order to get you to go to the gym and sell you some more shit. In order to cancel you have to go MONDAY TO FRIDAY during WORK HOURS 9-5 so no regular person with a regular job can cancel their membership. You should think twice before creating a membership with this company that undervalues women likewise their personal trainers and treats their customers this way and makes them go through all this trouble in order to keep taking their money. read more

Sadly, this is the closest LA Fitness to my home. I usually go to the gym for classes such as Zumba, Body Works, Yoga, etc. Last year, the radio was stolen and it Took almost two months to replace. Last month, the radio began shutting off just 20 minutes into the work out and management has yet to do anything about it. I am so tired of paying monthly and not even get a proper work out. My favorite part was when they brought a "replacement radio" which was a CD player from the 2000.. It just shocks me that such a large franchise is so ridiculous! Well... I'm disappointed. I thought maybe after a couple months of being open they would clean up, but no. I thought maybe they were having a hard time finding a good cleaning staff... but no. I thought maybe the staff at the front desk was just rude cause they were new, but no. SUCKS. The gym is nice. Its big. The equipment is new, but already so many thing wrong. The main one being that its dirty. The same black ball of hair has been in the 2nd shower stall since I joined 3 months ago. Yup. Same ball of hair. :( So sad. I tried to see if I could get on their website to let management know but no such luck. I found it impossible to log in and I guess you need to log in to leave a comment. How can a business improve if they don't provide the avenues for customers to provide feedback, right? Well.. Here is my list- Pros's- Cheap Convenient 3 or the 4 racquetball courts are decent Con's Dirty The staff isn't really nice at check in The dirty.. did I mention the dirty? Yes.. Its pretty dirty. I want to get one of the Cuban mops and some of that fabuloso, and give that place a good scrubbin myself. The bathrooms are really the worst. This gym is reprehensible. It has all the potential in the world. Main problem: weights EVERYWHERE. There are more weights on the floor than on the racks. What's worse is seeing 8-10 staff members joking around in the front while the back of the gym is in shambles. The only person they have working on clean up is an old man with a little dolly with wheels. When will the staff being monitoring the weight area for members who intentionally drop their weights, not rerack their weights, or leave gym bags all over the floor? I didn't realize that adults 18 and up of Hialeah acted like self-entitled children without an ounce of home training. The only reason I give a star is because the check in people are generally nice. I am very disappointed in this gym. I have been a member for months and everyday when i go first thing in the morning when they open, their weights are never racked. You get there and you can never find the dumbbells you need i have to change my workout because they don't rerack their weights. I told a front desk employee and they told me they were going to tell their boss George it's been weeks and i have not seen anything done. I love this gym but it takes from me in the morning because i have to run and find weights IF I CAN.
