This is probably one of the worst gyms I have ever been a member of. The facility is consistently unclean. There is often no soap available in the showers, the sauna and spa areas are filthy, paint is peeling throughout the facility, many of the machines are old and outdated, and the pool has not been properly heated for months. The pool was originally scheduled to be closed for maintenance from mid-March through April 16. However, as of May 29, it is still not fully operational. The heater remains broken, leaving the water uncomfortably cold. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Throughout this process, members have repeatedly been told the issue would be fixed "tomorrow," "next week," "over the weekend," or "today." We were also told they were waiting to locate a pool heater repair specialist. Unfortunately, the promised timelines have continually come and gone without resolution, leaving many members frustrated and disappointed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After months of dealing with the pool issues, I began raising my concerns with management. The blonde manager who works the front desk during the late mornings was kind enough to refund my April membership dues due to the ongoing problems.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] However, when I requested a refund for May, I was told she had gotten into trouble for issuing too many refunds and could no longer assist me. At that point, I decided to cancel my membership. I do not believe anyone should have to continue paying for services that are not being properly provided. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I contacted corporate, filed a formal complaint regarding the pool situation and refund request, and closed my account.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I have since joined the YMCA and have been much happier with my experience. Until significant improvements are made to this location, I would strongly encourage others to consider alternative fitness facilities. Hopefully management will either invest in meaningful upgrades or take the necessary steps to address the many ongoing issues affecting members. What is most disappointing is that they were apparently willing to lose a paying customer rather than refund $39.00 for a service that has not been fully available for months. In the end, that decision cost them far more than a single refund--it cost them a member. read more

The Acquatic class lead by Howard is really cool. His moves and the music he plays is just right for this very mature group of people. Some people take this class to recover from surgeries or to stay limber and mentally positive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can follow him at your own pace. No pressure there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This LA Fitness is near me and a busy place. I'm not one to spend time at the gym, but they do offer yoga and other classes as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Staff is friendly and the place is okay.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Plenty of showers and a sauna, or a jacuzzi to relax in. You can bring your own lock and place your things into a locker as well. Huge parking lot outside. Looks like parents can drop off their kids at the kiddy area while excersizing. Nice! Check it out, but read the fine print first, otherwise they will bill you for ever. It's OK. The main room is clean and equipment are in good working order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The person behind the front desk was helpful and was paying attention to his job.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sound system was audible, but not so loud that it bled through your headset. (I really resent gyms where they have the sound so loud that I can't listen to my stuff without their music bleeding through.) Big negative: The men's bathroom smelled strongly of urine. Some of the urinals were broken and had no water in them. Not sure how long this has been like this (first time visit) but they need to fix that stuff ASAP. It's 3:30 on a Sunday afternoon and the paper towel dispenser on the 2nd floor is out. I'm on a bike up here and just saw two folks 'try' to get paper towels and left empty handed. One lady went down to the first floor to get towels to wipe down her machine. The second guy was trying to dry off after his workout but left still dripping wet. Basically, this place never has enough Sunday staff to keep it clean. read more

This LA fitness is in a decent location, however the management is the worst. The manager is a slob that is rude and condescending with a horrible attitude. He behaves like a sleazy salesman. I was a previous member that had to cancel my membership due to moving. I came back in town for a weekend and tried to use a guest pass, but the manager wouldn't allow it. He said I had to wait 6 months from when I was a member and instead offered me a day pass for $20. I've heard previous complaints about him before. I recommend driving a little extra and going the other 2 LA fitnesses in the area. read more

This was a decent gym a few years ago. Now when you go in the staff is leaned all the way back in their chairs messing around with phones or hanging out with each other. The equipment makes all kinds of bad noises to the point you wonder if it's going to break mid use. The locker room is usually covered in used paper towels and just dirty in general. The bathroom side stays so humid from the showers that the walls and toilets stay dripping wet. This location needs new management and someone who will supervise the night shift. read more

I like this location over Barrett Parkway because the cardio machines are on the 2nd floor instead of jammed into the back of the main gym. I've never encountered a broken machine yet. The cycle room needs work. It's dull and drab and doesn't promote an energetic enthusiasm for working out. I use the peleton app in the cycle room because I don't love the music choices for the live LA Fitness cycle classes. My last class played "forever young" by Alphaville and that was my last live class for a reason. Too depressing. The locker room is no different than the other locations. I wish they would spend a couple bucks to upgrade the showers a bit. The shower heads have one setting: fire hose. I know some women use the handicapped shower for the adjustable, movable shower head, but I always worry a person who actually needs that stall will be stuck waiting for me, so I resort to getting hosed down in the prison shower. If I don't want to wash my hair, I have to crane my head away from the spray or use a shower cap and hope it doesn't get blasted off. Also, I had to buy my own hairdryer because the gym hairdryer is crummy. I think a few upgrades would really be appropriate. The parking lot is fine. I have no access issues. Overall, this gym is better than most, but not the best. 4 stars. read more

I joined this club because it has a swimming pool. I was told by my doctor swimming would be the best exercise for me with my bad knees and feet. I just am unable to exercise like I used to, unfortunately. I signed up for 3 yrs after talking to Isaiah and Ryan. By paying in full I got a better deal. This is less than 3 miles from my house which I need, as if too far, I don't get motivated to go! The pool is heated--I wish a little more. At first it feels a little chilly but once in and moving, it is fine. It is fairly well maintained for a place that gets that much traffic. I love the whirlpool spa after. The jets are strong and the water is so warm! I was worried to join this place initially because I thought it was a "beautiful people" type of place but actually there are people of all sizes, ages, shapes and fitness levels. I see a few handicapped people coming here as well. I don't have any problems with staff as some have noted. Everyone is helpful. No one is overly friendly but help you when you ask for it. No one bothers you when you don't. This place has racquetball courts, a basketball court, a big aerobics room, spin room, tons of machines and free weights, cardio galore. In the wet area is the pool with 4 lanes, a whirlpool spa, a sauna, lots of showers, clean locker room. I enjoy going to this gym and since the money issue is out of the way (no monthly payments) I just hope it continues to please! read more

Location is ok. Some of the treadmills are so-so and will jerk when your running which is annoying. One actually sliced my wife's hand severely because of poor maintenance - the manager hid and ignored our attempts to talk to them about this issue (corporate is kinda like the CIA & cannot be located). If you are looking for fitness classes packed wall to wall and taught by slightly overweight instructors then the schedule may appeal to you for the workout room. Also if you need to make a payment you will receive nearly 20 calls per hour from numbers all over the US until you submit to the harassment and make them your #1 priority. I do like the pool. I stopped working out here as the management acts like they are doing you a favor and your are annoying them. That is if you can get them to talk to you without them taking calls or just blowing you off. I think this location just considers everyone an annoying college student or something as it is just up from KSU so everyone is treated as such. I understand it is probably a thankless job that pays poorly but it is not the customer's choice to work there. read more

This is a good gym that offers many services such as weights, cardio, sauna, classes, etc. The only reason I didn't rate higher is because I come to this gym every day and the service is sub par at best. This gym is ok, and will probably meet your needs, if you're looking for a low-cost no-frills sort of gym. I didn't get the atmosphere or service that I wanted, so it wasn't for me. My husband joined this gym because we were looking for a low cost gym that is closer to our house. From the beginning, we had issues. When signing up my husband explained that he wanted to purchase memberships for my mother and I, in addition to himself. So, he wanted 3 memberships total. Instead the gym manager, who was handling his registration, sold him on a plan that included memberships for all 3 of us- but the manager neglected to mention that my husband would have to escort my mother and I anytime we wanted to go to the gym. We didn't discover this "misunderstanding" until I attempted to bop into the gym on my own, in order to get my membership card. And I was swiftly met by gym employees telling me that I didn't have my own gym membership, but was only listed as a guest on my husband's account. This meant that I would have to tag along with him, in order to use the gym. Now, here's where the story gets really weird- after discovering this, my husband tried repeatedly to get in touch with management to discuss the "misunderstanding" and to find out options to add 2 additional members to his account. After in-person, phone, and email requests, no one would respond to him. So for a month we just went to the gym at the same time. While at the gym I noticed equipment out of service, and the sauna room in the lady's locker room was unavailable for service a few times as well. I also noticed a lot of the cardio equipment's fans were filthy with caked on dust- I'm asthmatic so dust blowing in my face was super noticeable. Overall, my impression was that the gym felt low budget. And getting that low budget feeling after having a membership mishap didn't motivate me to "fix" our membership situation. So after a month, we canceled. And we went to Lifetime Fitness. It's way more expensive, but it's just nicer, cleaner, and most importantly I'm more comfortable there. My mom signed up too. So it's a Me, You, and Your Mama Too situation. That should be a lesson learned LA Fitness. read more

Even though I don't go as much on my own as I need too she is helping me make strides and gains. This gym has everything I expect out of a regular gym. Went with my two Brazilian friends this morning to go and we were waiting on the other and they were staining no welcome in and said what are you doing in a rude tone I told them we were waiting and kept staring as we waited. When she got here we scanned the code for guest and he said u need your ID my Brazilian friend didn't understand well and he start having a tone and raising his voice saying she isn't PRIVILEGE to have a say on the situation. So I was running and suddenly had blood dripping from my hand on the treadmill I look and theres a pieces of metal lifted from the handlebar that I hit somehow while jogging. The manager on duty was a young boy who freaked out and had no idea what to do but asked if I needed EMS to which I refused. The girl at the front was the best, she did the best she could with the limited first aid kit they had. When i called the next day to speak with the facility manager he had no idea of the incident then told me that the equipment is checked daily and blamed the nuisance gym guests because there is no way the metal bar was lifted earlier in the day. (Anyone know of someone walking around with a crowbar, wrench, or any other object lifting metal at the gym for fun, contact me immediately) Sarcasm aside he called me back to inform me that it was now in corporate's hands and that it must be dealt with them. Corporate has an address listed that is FALSE. It is a general facility. I was told they processed my 'claim' however, when I called it was as if it was never reported and I never heard from them again despite several calls to their 800#. Thanks for the scar on my finger LA FITNESS. Aside from that yes, they have a nice pool, the largest facility in Kennesaw, but their business practices need to be re-examined. They also have a few overweight fitness instructions and they WILL call you multiple times in one hour if your card expires even if it is not yet to be charged for another 2wks. WIsh there was something better in town or at least better attention to accidents like mine. Don't even know where to go from there. read more

LA Fitness is like the McDonald's of gyms. OK since that's not the best metaphor for a gym, let me break it down for you. Pros: -Widely available: There will be one within a 7 mile-radius anywhere you are in the metro-Atlanta area. Really, really awesome for someone like me who works 2 jobs and floats around different places in/around the city. -Cheap: I pay $29.99/mo. Personal training sessions are affordable too. I think they are having a holiday special for less than $25/hour. -Good crowd: I've been to at least 5 different LA Fitness locations, and I'd say this one is the least crowded. The crowd is civilized and not too disruptive. Cons: -Minimalist: They have all the standard equipments, plus a small dry sauna, a pool, racquetball courts, and a whirlpool. But it's clear they didn't spend a penny beyond that. -Not super well-maintained: LA Fitnesses tend to be older, so the equipments aren't sparkling too begin with. Then a lot of people don't wash the equipments. One time I had to circle the gym to find a spray. I see at least one non-functional machine every time I go in. -Classes: I love yoga, so I'd like to see it offered more... cycling seems really popular and is offered frequently. Overall, it does its job, and I'm happy it's everywhere. But it really is minimalist, especially if you've been spoiled at Lifetime or a big private university gym. read more

They have all the fitness equipment I've ever needed and keep the place so clean! Troy always is so nice and interested in the goals that I want to achieve! If you don't think Lafitness personal training is a big scam Google it you will see they have ripp people off coast to coast .Beware of signing a contract with LA Fitness for personal training , you sign a computer box that you can not see , you have only seven days to cancell which they do not tell you .My girl friend sign up for three months and they had her down for a year . They told her to bad , if she wanted out she would have to pay $1000 . She closed her account to keep them from stealing any more money , and canciled her membership . And if you bank card expries they will call you incessanly threating you with late fees , they called 20 times in three days , It is so hard for me to believe that they would let two five year members walk away because they wanted to ripp one off for personal training . read more
