Only been here a couple of times, but it seems to be a nice place. My hubby does the pool & hot tub and loves it. I do mainly exercise machines. Only a few are down for maintenance (a covering might be more noticeable than a plain sign taped to the machine. Haven't used the cardio machines (mobility issues), but they have some downstairs for people like me who can't do stairs. The locker room is quite nice. So far I am pleased. My only issue is with other patrons sitting on a machine, scrolling on their phone. Please for the love of heaven, if you are breaking for more than a couple of minutes, get off the damn machine. I can do 2 sets of 12 in that time and move on. read more

This isn't the worst LA Fitness, but it also isn't as good as several others. It seems like machines are not well kept -- for example, one bike doesn't have a pedal but doesn't have a maintenance sign, another bike doesn't sense your heart rate, and another gave me 3 miles completed in 60 minutes (compared to 15-20 actual). The showers are similar -- some a trickle while others hard as heck. Bottom line: Time for this facility to do an audit of their equipment and facilities overall to get them in full working condition. read more

Staff always friendly and smile on their face , Alex the Manager is amazing and will explain you everything you need to know . There are 2 things I don't like and thats why I wont give a 5 start . I saw people going in the hot tub with clothes on ( thirst and long sweatpants ) and when they do the swimming classes for kids , I see some mom's walking thru the women lockers with their kid ( being a boy ) without even checking ti see if anyone is naked or about to get naked . read more

The gym and the equipment is old, worn out, and in disrepair constantly. See pictures for typical examples. It's very busy around peak hours, for an example you would be very lucky to grab a squat racks before 9am and after 5pm. On a positive note, my wallet fell out of my pocket and I left it here, but someone was kind enough to pick it up to lost and found with all the money in tact. So the members are nice and more trustworthy than you might expect at other gyms. read more

I have been going to this club on and off for over 10 years because it's nearby. Management has improved, but it has a long way to go. Most of the reviews are not far off. Cleaning is much better since the ladies took over, but equipment and carpet are warned out with patches visible. Some equipment was replaced, but many machines are rusty and barely work. Always dirty. When equipment breaks it takes 6 months plus to fix. The pool needs to be reported to the health department. Pool lane dividers have been missing a long time! The cleaning staff sweeps all the debris from the deck into the pool. ( band aids, tissue)etc. The roof plaster is falling off into the pool and there is lots of mold. They have children swim classes in pool. More times than I can count kids vomited in pool and it was closed. Parents waiting for kids during swim lessons soak their dirty feet in hot tub. It is not an adult only facility! Small siblings of children taking lessons run around screaming. Salespeople hound you all the time about training fees. I was told I could get a guest pass same day for a family member. When we went in "Rafael "enjoyed refusing to let us in with the guest pass I signed up for my family member, then attempted to sell us a day pass or membership. He said it takes time to get a guest pass, then you have to have an appointment and listen to their whole sales pitch. The VIP guest pass is a sham & a bait & switch! Definitely will drive the extra miles to go to another gym. read more

So, you can take this with a grain of salt because I was just visiting and my friends decided to take me to their gym, but my experience was pretty mediocre & uncomfortable. Apparently the front team doesn't normally make a big deal out of my friend bringing a guest but this time was different. One of the, who I assume is a manager or higher up sales guy, took our third friend back to try and sell him a membership. He then made assumptions about his relationship and made some inappropriate comments about me. Nothing like going to a gym and feeling like the employees are scoping you out. Regardless of the quality of the people working at this establishment, the gym and equipment was pretty mediocre and out-dated. For what I have always assumed to be a nicer gym, this place was a disappointment. Mismatch and missing dumbbells, out of order equipment, and limited options. The treadmill downstairs doesn't go past 5.3 miles per hour which is barely a jog... upstairs is sweltering and you're basically on top of one another. I wouldn't recommend working out here, but hey - to each their own! read more

At least half of the cardio equipment is out of order at any given time and a good majority of the remaining ones are squeaky and clunky. The machines are poorly maintained with parts broken off. The seat for the tricep machine and bicep machine have been broken for months so you have to stand. Some of the pads are so torn up you can't even use them. Feels like once they get you to sign up they don't care about keeping it. With the home gym trend continuing I don't see LA Fitness Fairwood staying profitable unless they improve greatly. read more

I want to take back a few stars. This used to be my favorite gym however a lot has changed. First, the completely new staff everyone used to be welcoming and friendly. Now you can barely get a hello or goodbye while entering and exiting the facility. Also, there is very limited covid regulations by the staff. I saw a few people working out with their masks off doing weights/lifting which isn't safe when all the equipment are jam packed together in one area. No one follows social distancing and the gym capacity looks normal just with less machines to work with. I've never seen anyone do a facility head count since re opening. Over all eh. If you're desperate to workout in a pandemic and don't really care about public safety, then la fitness is just for you. read more

Been a frequent user / member for the past 5 years. To be fair this place gets a good amount of traffic so its not surprising equipment breaks from time to time, but the company should feel embarrassed by the amount of consistently broken equipment. a trip to the hardware store would fix most issues. I really don't believe they have got a single new piece of equipment during my tenure. past that everything is ... fine. Soap is usually missing in 2/4 bathroom sinks. Hand sanitizer, paper towels and equipment sanitizer is missing about 1/2 the time. No shade, but thats just how it is. read more

Gyms usually don't get very high reviews but this LA fitness provides everything that I need as far as basketball and work out equipment. It's a good level of busy but not overwhelmingly busy like the Renton landing location. This location seems to be the cleanest and most well maintained so I give it a 5 star rating. read more

Wish I could come back with a positive review about new additions and updates to this facility but unfortunately it's negative. I've been a member of LA fitness for about 7-8yrs traveling to different locations and totally remember why I signed up for 24HR fitness Super Sport. This commercial gym has increasingly grown rude with inept staff. Especially, the trainers. SO RUDE, you would think they own this gym. I understand you are there to help people achieve their goals but think about treating the others using this gym that aren't paying for your "personal training" services with respect. I would think a community building towards health and fitness would be more friendly, doesn't seem to be the case with some trainers here (ESP the old blonde female trainer). She tells me to leave the "personal training" area because she has a client while I'm in the corner minding my business. I would've been fine if she wasn't rude about it. I return back near the same area to stretch and it's filled with other women doing exactly what I was but THEY WEREN'T TOLD TO LEAVE and continued to workout while she was there.... WOW. read more

I signed up for a membership online and didn't see the gym before singing  up. Lots of machines are broken, the elliptical machines are rusted and if not broken about to break. This gym is worse than Planet Fitness but more expensive. Do yourself a favor and find a  better gym. it won't be hard to do. read more

I've been going to this gym for about 2 years now. For the past year and a half they've been promising their members a renovation just to let us know months later it will never happen because they've hit their goal amount of members.. then I come here this morning to get my stair stepping on and the machines (one by one have suddenly all become broken I guess?) still haven't been fixed even with their out of order signs popping back out of the closet at least once every month. For the love of god replace your equipment or stop increasing your rates. So ridiculous. read more

Equipment has seen better days. Signs up saying masks required regardless of vaccination status and yet half the people have their masks off with staff not enforcing the rules. Do not workout here if you're looking for a safe place to lift during COVID-19. read more

Watch your fingers with the sauna doors. You'll end up smashing them and needing stitches later. The lack of professional at this facility is disgusting. Regardless if you sign a contract saying they're not liable for any injuries doesn't mean that doors should slam back on peoples fingers. It's not a safe gym. read more

I come to LA fitness only for sauna, but they broke more than 1 month but no one fixed it.

For a big gym this does everything I need. I wish they would open at least an hour earlier on the weekends however. I would spend more time there if they did. At 8 it is like a rat race to get a treadmill and it only allows me about 45 minutes to work out before my other commitments come into play. I'm an early riser and would like to get the test of my day started earlier. Half the time the workers are running in right at 8 to open up which is additionally frustrating when you see the cleanliness concerns. The cleanliness seems to be getting worse all the time. Dust and sweat are layered on the machines and even wiping down the areas I intend to touch is a chore. The ceiling fans are disgusting and they are just pumping that into the air. The front desk people barely say hi and no one seems to take pride in what they do there. I'm hoping they will address this soon. read more

A typical LA Fitness - weight machines, spin class, free weights, basketball and racquetball courts and a pool. The cardiovascular machines are upstairs on a mezzanine. This brand new LA Fitness has only been open one month but it is getting grubby in a hurry. Maintenance is poor. Garbage cans were overflowing and paper towels were strewn all over the locker room. The restroom in the guys' locker room was filthy, and unbelievably, the cover was already missing from one light fixture. It blows my mind how LA Fitness can let a new facility go to pot so fast. I came here this past Saturday afternoon and was surprised how crowded it was. That may have partly been because so many people were still out of power due to last week's snow and ice storms; they just came here to stay warm. All the cardiovascular machines, including the elliptical trainer I used, are equipped with TVs. I'm not sure how many total channels there are, but mine was tuned to CNN. As I huffed and puffed to maintain a heart rate of 140 bpm and a speed of 6+ mph on the elliptical, I watched the returns from the South Carolina Republican primary, including Mitt Romney's concession speech. Wow, that guy has had so much botox, that if he doesn't get elected (heaven help us if he does), he should see if he can get onto Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. read more

I've been going to this LA Fitness for years now. For the past 3 years or better I've been pleading with management and customer service to enforce a ban on portable Bluetooth speakers. This all revolves around a particular member, Charles Stewart, who continually plays his personal music out loud for all to hear within his proximity. If he ever bothers to turn it down rest assured that he will turn the volume up again. Customer service or management has never cared enough about my complaints as a member (or others) to shut this down. As a matter of fact I've been treated as if I am the one with the problem as opposed to the source of the matter. LA Fitness's lack of action on this makes me believe that this is a problem from the top down. This is a simple problem to solve yet they do nothing. On principle this is a matter of politeness that apparently evades LA Fitness's ethical standards towards the preponderance of their own members. They absolutely do not care about you! I am waiting for them to prove me wrong. And Ashley from customer service is absolutely worthless as a representative of LA Fitness. read more

So, I was frequenting the Covington LA for the longest time, but seeing how I live in East Hill, it's a liiiiitle bit of a journey for the gym. In an effort to save time, gas, and money, I tried out the Kent LA. Once. Never again. In a last ditch effort, I tried this Fairwood location - only 12 minutes away from my house! Luckily for me, I was pleased to find ample parking, a safe area, and a CLEAN facility. The machines are kind of outdated - the treadmills are outfitted so that you can plug in your iPhone..... 3G. Definitely a little outdated! But they all work, which is a rare thing to see! Outside of the cardio area, they have everything I need - plenty of arm machines, leg machines, ab machines, some machines I've never even SEEN at other locations which is a bonus to me, and a lifting area. There's also a pool and warmup/cool down area as well. This LA is a little bit smaller than what I'm used to, but it works. It has everything I need and then some - and I didn't have to wait for any machine whatsoever. Today, a happy Lauren was created. I've found my new go-to LA! read more
