Overall good place to get your workout. I frequently come here to enjoy their aqua fit classes as well as their cycle classes. Overall front staff is nice as they check you in and there are recent deals for new members or for add ons. I do like the classes that they offer here, but it has been a few months where they had a hard time finding an aqua fit instructor. I really like these classes but if the instructors aren't good, it is hard to follow along to the music as well as the choreography. At least it is one hour class where I can get a good workout. Their cycling classes are good and fill up fast. It is hard for me to stay for an hour as those bike seats just aren't comfortable but I do my best and leave when my derriere hurts. The cleanliness of the ladie's locker area need major work. There's shower heads that don't work all the time and there's a lot of hair on the floor. There's also moldy tile in the shower areas so I tend to rinse off while wearing my flip flops and then go home to shower completely. As for the swimming pool, it is always so cold when you enter. I have asked the staff a couple of times and they said the pool temperature is monitored automatically but I wonder when the last calibration of their pool thermometer was? It is definitely chilly when you enter the swimming pool! I do hope management at this location will increase the frequency of cleaning the lockerrooms and really look into the temperature of the swimming pool. read more

Now that I've seen other gyms, I think this LAF is lacking. It's always really busy, there's nothing to clean the benches after sweaty fellows use them, the dumb bells are always in the wrong places (lazy people), and the bathroom is barely ok. read more

I switched gyms from Arlington to LA sierra as I am a young buck but like her space when im working out, at Arlington it juat felt like competition. But when I came to LA sierra the manager 'Mr. Johnny' recognized me and it was very welcoming to see a familiar face. Then each morning I come to the front counter "Miss Melanie && Miss Monica" these ladies just made my morning better than a cup of coffee their smiles, happy to see me is just a great way to start my day.. its very motivating when the persinal trainers, even though yiur not sessiones with them. "Mister Hunter" is always giving me high fives and pushing me to finish strong! I highly recommend this gym if anyone !! read more

If something is broken (there is always something broken) expect it to not get fixed for a good while. Other than that it's pretty spacious and one of the lesser busy LA Fitnesses. Also the sauna is one of the hotter ones I've been to which is nice although they took away the ability to turn off the lights which is frustrating since a darker sauna is more relaxing. read more

This location manager, Carlos, appears to be disregarding company policies and prioritizing short-term profits over customer satisfaction. Instead of focusing on building positive relationships that encourage repeat business, his actions seem centered on maximizing profit at the expense of the customer experience. I believe this behavior is harmful to both customers and the company's reputation and should be addressed by upper management. read more

Oscar was great in helping me sign up, very helpful and knowledgeable. I came in with a few questions and wasn't even planning on signing up, but after speaking to Oscar, I absolutely had to sign up. He represents LA fitness very well. The gym itself is great. Downstairs is strength training as well as separate rooms for various sports, Pilates, HIIT, etc. Machines are at the entrance, followed by a large weight area towards the back of the gym with lots of mirrors. It is never crowded, I never have to wait for machines. Upstairs is for cardio, has a LOT of equipment. Everything is clean, gym is always a good temperature. Bottle filling stations. It would be great if the weight area had more natural lighting but it has enough to get the job done. read more

Not the worst, not the best LAFitness. Definitely won't come here for leg day, as there's only one squat rack, one cage, and two smith machines. No weightlifting platforms or bumper plates. There were plenty of cables and benches, including incline and decline. The dumbbell rack is a mess. There were at least 10 dumbbells left on the ground in between the cable machines. At other locations I frequently see staff collecting and putting away dumbbells but I didn't see any here doing that. read more

I was transferred to a salesperson named Carlos, who seemed irritated that I was considering another gym. When I asked if there was any flexibility on pricing, he abruptly hung up on me. Not the best, not the worst. I wouldn't recommend coming here for leg day, since there's no deadlift platform. Everything is kind of cramped, especially the benches. It makes it hard to spot someone, since there's so little room in between them. The lack of space makes it seem more crowded than it actually is, but I usually don't have to wait too long for a machine. read more

The music at this gym is genuinely unbearable. The same playlist has been looping for years, and I hear the same songs multiple times in a single visit. None of it is energizing--it actually drains whatever motivation you had when you walked in. What really crosses the line is the explicit content they blast at full volume. I'm talking lyrics like "big big ... hard hard ... I want to touch it ... don't bust." There's no subtlety, no filter, and no awareness of the fact that people of all ages and backgrounds are trying to work out in a shared space. It's uncomfortable for anyone who didn't come to the gym to listen to that. At minimum, change the station. Honestly, turning the music off would be even better. It would improve the experience for everyone immediately. read more

This review is about the training manager. The last two to be exact. They lie to you. They commit fraud by telling you what you want to hear, then they change your contract without your knowledge if you don't agree to EXACTLY what they insist on. Background. I signed a contract in 2024. Terms: 4 sessions a month for 6 months, plus an extra 4 sessions. This maths out to 28 contracted. What did I get? I got 3 sessions a month for 6 months. I was shorted 10 sessions on my first contract. They also put the incorrect payment date on my account, that caused multiple overdrafts because I only get paid once a month. That manager is now gone. I thought I worked things out with the current training manager. 6 months, with the ability to pause for a couple months, plus 1/2 of the sessions I was defrauded out of from my first contract. After hounding the manager for a month, and not seeing the new sessions on my account, I contacted the regional management. I told them at the end of April I wanted out because he was not being faithful to our contract agreement. Then came the first payment, which was scheduled on a day I did not agree to. I was charged a late fee. I called the regional manager again to complain, and say I wanted out of the contract due to breach of contract. Then I started getting calls in late April because, again, the payments had not stopped as I requested, nor was the due date updated to the correct day. At this point I was done trying locally, and I contacted corporate. I was assured that the issue was resolved. I was also told that the contract I signed was not the one attached to my account. It was a forged contract marked "SA" which i refused to sign!!! So I changed my credit card number. Then i was charged again 3 times (Twice in June, once in July). I contacted Corporate again and they promised an investigation. Only now, after an investigation has been launched, did the training manager call me... Not to work things out, but TO TRY TO CALL ME OUT on wanting out of the contract because of HIS NEGLEGENCE! No. now I'm writing a review on this place. Do not trust the training managers here. This gym has plenty of treadmills and elliptical machines. Could use more stair mills and leg press machines. Could also use some guest etiquette training and enforcement so guests wont bring gym bags to the floor, won't sit on the machines using their phones/talking, and won't talk on the phone in the sauna. Speaking of the sauna - 1) people play music/videos without headphones and 2) when the gym opens at 8am on Sat and Sun the sauna is not hot. If you arrive at 8am-8:30am and want to use the sauna to warm up before working out, you will have to wait for it to get hot. Would be nice if the staff took care of this early so the sauna is full temperature upon gym opening. The gym is pretty clean. The locker room cleaners are very thorough in the way they clean the showers and bathrooms. The inside of the lockers need cleaning. There is plenty of parking, but the area of Magnolia/Tyler/La Sierra/Polk has a large population of unhoused people and it is evident in the parking lot. Too bad there is an up charge for the Pilates class. Sadly, it requires its own subscription plan. Overall, it's convenient, but not my best gym experience. read more

If you are ok with over crowded gym at a premium price, this is right up there. But, thats not what forced me to write a review. I was stupid enough to be trapped in their training program. This is a real trap that would make a sleezy car salesman look like a saint because this just does not end. 1. The person who sold us this program, said it's a month to month contract & we can cancel anytime (LIE). Once we signed, turns out, we had to pay them for 6 months minimum even then if we want to cancel it can only be done on 25th of the 6th month. They won't let us cancle before that date (without us paying a fine) & if we are a day late, they will charge for next month. I was not kidding when I said neverending. 2. Training Demo was with a different person, actual trainer was way worst. 3. When we put our gym membership on hold (they allow this) they still continued charging money for training. 4. People on front desk or call center would say they can't do anything but their VP is the only person who can tackle such basic stuff & that he will call. But that dude never calls. These are not one-off mistakes or an individual being stubborn, these pain points are built into their processes so that LA Fitness can continue pulling money out of your bank account. I say, save yourself a load of headache & stay away from LA Fitness. read more

Absolutely horrendous management and staff. Every person is beyond rude and the male workers are misogynistic, they gaslight you, and make you feel dumb. They're not welcoming at all, my contract was completely changed after agreeing to something different, then they lie straight to your face. chris is rude and unprofessional!! he is a trainer and he charged my mom over $200 when she was confused about the training process. and when she wanted her money back, he refused!! he was saying remarks like "oh you really need your money back, your desperate" and refused to give my mom the first page copy of the contract. corporate ended up refunding the money but chris WOULDNT! he's a very rude and terrible person. how dare he try and scam my mom. she's older and doesn't understand. he was uncaring and ONLY cared about money. chris is awful. read more

LA FITNESS MEMBERS BE AWARE STOLEN VEHICLE 9/15/2015. Stolen items are still not recovered- my vehicle keys, home keys, wallet, vehicle registration, ID and all valuables from my car/ gym bag. ‼‼Anyone who frequents this gym at LA Fitness off La Sierra in Riverside please be ware.‼‼ This all happened between a 20 min window Between 6:12-6:20 went to use rest room/ drop off sweater at my locker, I did notice emergency exit door near lockers was open at the end of the hall way (which leads me to believe this was also partly an inside job). 6:20-6:45 I was upstairs doing cardio, 6:51 call 911 when I noticed locker was broken into and bag, and vehicle missing by 7-7:10p they were trying to make purchases at Target and Ulta off Tyler. 6:36p the last location of my AirPods marker a location in front of Kaiser Riverside. Moral of the story this can happen to anyone anywhere, keep and eye out and be vigilant. These people acted quickly and my gut feeling is that they had been watching and were calculated. Machines down for 6 weeks so far. No single handle grips for cable machines. Front desk said it takes 4-6 weeks to get replacements. How do you not have some in a storage closet? New janitor keeps the bathrooms super clean though. Cleanest I have seen update 20 days later. Still no single grip handles. Same machines down. read more

This place is a cesspool of human waste. Management will not enforce general and mandatory cleanliness guidelines. The restrooms are always disgusting and unkept. A huge issue they have ignored for over a year of complaints: management allows members to use gym supplied wet wipes (instead of the required personal towel) to be consumed by these athletes apparently, and just drop the wet human waste napkins all over the ground, around and on fitness equipment. This isn't about the facility itself--it's decent with a nice, spacious environment. This is about the staff. In September of last year, Kevin, the head personal trainer at the time, told me it would only be a flat $198 for enrolling in the PT program for six months. However, it turned out to be $198 per month, and I only realized this after six months. Yes, it was partly my fault, but LA Fitness, hire better people! Don't hire those who make dishonest deals. I expect this from a struggling gym, not a national chain! I spoke with the current manager, and he told me it was a learning experience, which I agree with--I could've done better. But LA Fitness, you've lost a customer. I'll make sure to tell all my gym friends that they'd be better off buying a Peloton than stepping foot in any of your locations. Tonight, a man was in the pool for nearly 10 minutes, before the check-in clerk announced to everyone in the area "the pool is closed". We asked why, and she pointed to the bottom of the pool and explained there was "poop in it"!!!! I asked why no sign? She shrugged and said they are "working on it" with an 'I don't care attitude'. -A very serious hazard could exist in the water this man has been wading in, and the staff knew of this problem w/o putting up an immediate sign! read more
