Let's begin a rainy day review!…read more So Blue Agave came up on my Activity Feed after an Elite I had met at a previous event had reviewed it themselves, and I had been kind of wanting to give Blue Agave a try ever since. Actually, if not for Southern Classic Daiquiri Factory which opened much closer to the station, I would have come here last month. Better late than never I suppose? So anywho, I made my way over on the way home from an in-service training at work. Honestly, other than having to cross a gas station across the street from it, this was pretty straightforward to get to. Like the same reviewer I had learned about this place from, I too was at first confused upon arrival. In my case, it was because the right side had their lights on, making me wonder if it was two places with one being closed. Turns out, they're both part of the same location! So I went inside. Now, because I was kind of in a hurry, I had to do take-out, and thankfully, service obliged without complaint. It was easy to pick up a menu and make clear what I had wanted to order. This is something in which this place succeeded at where another Mexican restaurant just walking distance from my apartment back home was completely failed. That way, when I finally made my order, I knew what was getting. I went with the nachos chorizo, and they gave me all the works (without the tomatoes of course because I don't put tomatoes in my orders if I can help it). I also got the fruit punch soda in a glass bottle. I will say, if you get soda like this, make sure you have a bottle opener. I used my handheld blade kit that had a bottle opener as one of the tools and used that when I made it all the way home. The drink was good (definitely drink this cold if possible), and so were the nachos. Actually, the chorizo nachos would be perfect for those who prefer a little spice in their foods. These definitely had a decent kick to them, and the jalapeños only accentuated this. The chorizo is juicy, and the cheese is tasty. You can see some onion, avocado, and I think there might be refried bean in there too? Either way, this comes together quite well I must say. I would say Blue Agave is off to a pretty good start here. I'm gonna hold off on a 5 for now, but I'll gladly give it a 4. I'd be more than happy to try out a few more items here in the future and get a better look around the place next time.

At first I thought they were closed, but their light was just off awaiting a customer, so don't be discouraged to walk in if you see the light off. They been open for 3 months now. We ordered several tacos of chicken, chorizo (very spicy), and mixto that comes with lengua, steak, and al pastor. My favorite was the steak. Everything was seasoned well with good portions. Only complaint is that the chicken could have been juicier. Inside they sell hand crafted items. My man bought the boot shot glass and I got the clay salt and pepper shakers. So if you're passing around, I suggest you give them a try and support this family businesses.

We will definitely be back. We had the tacos- shrimp, pork belly and calamari. Really well priced and tasty too. The cocktails were good- the dragonfruit margarita and the vodka berry lemonade . One of the better happy hour offerings in the area.

The chicken was probably crispier when it left the kitchen, but it had softened by the time I got home. From it being packaged with no air vent for the steam to escape. The chicken itself didn't do much for me either. It looked like dark meat, possibly thigh, but instead of being juicy it was a bit dry. The cilantro rice was mushy. The portion could have been more generous for the price. I also ordered a side of ají verde, and for the small portion, I thought it should have been complimentary. A lot of places offer a sauce like that as a courtesy. Overall, I wasn't a fan of what I ordered this time. That said, I wouldn't rule the place out. Their tacos and happy hour margarita specials might be better, so I'd be willing to come back and give those a try. Their happy hour runs daily from 3-7 p.m., and the taco selection looks much stronger than the non-crispy chicken.
