Ordered the most expensive thing in the menu and this is what it looked like. Two pieces of carne asada, four pretty good size shrimp in mushroom caps, the rice and beans, guacamole, and all the other stuff you see. Could have fed two of me. That and a beer was under 25. I generally eat the same thing when I visit Mexican/Tex-Mex restaurants, tacos or Fajitas. Lately I have been on a Taco kick and that is what I had ordered here. The taco shells weren't very tasty, in fact, they were just average, and didn't go well with the meat & topping in the tacos. The texture of the tacos were a bit soft, and they practically disintegrated when I poured salsa on top of them. The rest of the meal (rice, beans and taco meat) was bland. I will be honest. I had never eaten here before in all my years of traveling to Wenatchee. I tried it two weeks ago. I was surprised at how good the food was overall. The staff was friendly. The portions are generous. The beans are delicious. This is the first restaurant I have ever known around here to actually refry the beans homestyle, the way I do at home with a little chorizo. Delicious. They have delicious arroz con pollo. The rice on my father's plate had a beautiful color and was nice and fluffy but really not much flavor to it. There was only one thing that I really did not like. To me it should be up to the patron if they want to tip or not. I left a tip on the table for our server even though she forgot our drinks and did not bring them to the table until we had almost finished our meal. And I had reminded her more than once for them. What I did not like was when I was paying for our meal, the host did not give me my change back. I paid in cash. Our ticket came out to $49 and change. I gave him three twenty-dollar bills. He automatically kept my change and placed it in the tip jar. I was shocked when he did that as I thought it was rather rude to assume that he could keep it. He could tell that I was surprised and he asked me "Oh, did you want your change back?" I told him I had already left the tip on the table for the server but you can go ahead and keep it as you already put it in the tip jar. Then we left. Not sure if I will be back for that reason. La Fuente has the BEST customer service ever. I have been going there for years and the food just keeps getting better and better, the customer service is fabulous & it's always a good time! Came in from out of town and searched for the most reviewed Mexican restaurant. Lafuente had the most and highest reviews. Came in with our 9 and 11 year olds. I ordered the steak fajitas, fantastic! Flavor was spot on, meat was tender, plenty of fresh guacamole, sour cream, lettuce cheese etc. The only complaint I could give is the portion was too much!! And one cannot complain about that. More than I could eat, but not quite enough to share a hefty meal with my husband. Husband orders the chicken enchiladas. His plate was clean when we left. Last night, me and my family were in Wenatchee and I was searching for Mexican food, so I search on Yelp and I found Lafuente restaurant with a good review, so we went. First they served chips and cabbage salsa and the regular salsa and both was good. My kids ordered Nachos , I ordered 3 beef tacos the large combinations. My husband ordered the Carne Asada and this one was delicious. So we decided every time when we come to Wenatchee, we come to this restaurant. The staff were fast and friendly. My partner and I were really excited to try Whenatchee's local Mexican restaurant-- we were visiting family in town and needing a night out. Unfortunately, our experience turned awkward as soon as the server rejected my partner's passport as her ID. We kindly asked her to check with the manager because this seems like a very strange rule. Why would visitors from outside of the U.S. not be allowed to order a drink with a passport? Nonetheless, she came back from speaking with the manager and denied my partner a drink. It is unfortunate that immigrants and foreign visitors are not welcome to have a libation with their meal. My partner and I both live in the United States and have never come across an encounter like this before. Stopped here on the way back from Leavenworth, the weekend before Christmas. The place was packed but we got seated pretty quickly. The food was great; among the four of us we had, shrimp fajitas, chicken tacos, beef enchiladas, and chili rellenos. Everyone was happy. The cabbage salsa is surprisingly really good and I loved that the guacamole was mostly avocado, as it should be and not mostly fillers like most places do. The best part though, was the SERVICE! This place was not very good. I've had my fair share of Mexican and Tex-Mex food in my day, but this has been one of the worst places to eat at. Is this really the best Mexican food in Wenatchee? There was just a problem with all the food in general. I ordered the Enchiladas verdes with chicken. This tasted okay. However, my sister ordered the Camarones a la Diabla. Now, the server said that it was a spicy sauce made with ketchup and whatnot. We assumed that meant they used ketchup to enhance a certain flavour... but the whole sauce tasted like spicy ketchup. None of us wanted to eat it, which was a shame because the Camarones were really nice. I think she just wiped them off and ate them, but there were only 4 medium prawns in the whole dish. I have been going to La Fuente ever since I moved here seven years ago. This is because each time I go there I am always left satisfied. Their food is delicious. Everything that they serve is so tasty and covered in melted cheese. Their rice and beans are amazing. I used to just get rice, beans and tortillas and snack and talk with friends. A cheap and delicious meal! They have amazing flautas, enchiladas, tostadas, burritos, and I absolutely LOVE their shrimp! The food is always amazing and ridiculously cheap! I am always amazed at the food and how quickly it comes out no matter how busy they are they are always very prompt and attentive. I love this restaurant. It's my favorite in Wenatchee! Lafuente was a great lunch today. I ordered the sopitos (something I don't find often in Mexican restaurants) and my wife ordered the tacos carbon. Both were well-prepared, well-seasoned and served quickly and professionally. The staff is on top of everything here. The portion sizes were way too large for me, but prices were good. This is really flavorful food. Starting with the chips, salsa and whatever the bowl of cabbage, onions, spice is called. Chips had been warmed, salsa great spices, cabbage had a kick to it. I ordered carnitas de Reyes and husband ordered pork Chile verde. My steak was tender. Oddly enough the carmelized onions and green peppers were so good, I'd say it was the key to the wonderfulness. The rice is really good too, we'll seasoned Gave 5 stars cause I can't give 4.5 and they don't have homemade tortillas. Not that the ones they had werent good. read more

The chips and salsa were amazing as was our food. We had 4 different entrees ranging from a burrito, chicken enchiladas and Arroz con Pilla. Don't get Fish Tacos. Came in for lunch craving fish tacos. No fish tacos on lunch menu but you can order from dinner menu 3 fish tacos for $15.95. Asked waitress if I could get just 2 fish tacos; "NO, Must get all three". OK, I wanted the fish tacos. I am used to fish tacos with fish being either fried or grilled; these were poached! No white sauce! Plain shredded cabbage - NOTHING HAD ANY TASTE! Ate one taco and brought other two back to the hotel and added mayonnaise to give them some flavor. Don't order the fish tacos. Only reason they get two stars is that the cabbage salad is very good. They should put that on the fish tacos. Please fry or grill the fish and add the white sauce. Was $20.00 lunch with tax and tip for tasteless poached fish. read more

This has been our go-to place for Mexican food in the Wenatchee area. The food is consistently good, and the servers are always very friendly. We love the cabbage salsa served with the chips, and the Carne Asada is probably our favorite dish. I will add that I am not a fan of the fish tacos, but that's the only dish I've tried so far that missed the mark. The furniture is a little run-down, so I am giving them 4 stars. Such a great experience despite the AC being broken on 100 degree day. We had a party of 21 people, and the service was excellent. My little kiddos were all wound up from the long road trip we were on. One of the waitresses actually got down on my 2 yr old's level to take time with her, in the middle of a potentially stressful situation. The pico degallo was fantastic, salsa was great, and Guacamole was really good too. I pretty much order the same thing most of the time at Mexican restaurants. So I ordered my two chicken chimi changa meal. It was HUGE, each chimi was equal to two of what I'm used to getting around my home. And, it was absolutely delicious. Around 12pm on a Tuesday my dad and I decided to try La Fuente. It was highly recommended to me by a friend as "the best Mexican food in Wenatchee" so I was eager to see for myself. Upon arrival we were promptly seated and given chips with two kinds of salsas. Both very delicious. I liked the extra cumin in the red salsa. The menu was quite extensive but the back page covered lunch (11-3pm). There were combo plates and regular Mexican specialties, all reasonably priced. I chose the Chicken en Mole with beans and rice and my dad chose Carnitas also with beans and rice. My mole was sweeter than I'm normally used to but still quite good! I ate every last bit of it. Dad said he liked his carnitas. The steak and veggies did look great! Lunch portion was just right. Overall my experience was wonderful. The staff was kind and attentive. Our water never reached halfway. The food was deliciously authentic. Prices for lunch were just right ($19 for two entrée lunches). The dinner menu was a bit more expensive. I can't wait to go back and try more off the menu! Quick tip: Small eating area. It does get quite busy here during peak hours so either be prepared to wait or go at an "awkward" time. read more

There is no shortage of delicious Mexican restaurants in Wenatchee, La Fuentes isn't just more of the same it's a landmark! They have the best cabbage salsa of any restaurant in the valley and I regularly order that and pick it up for a treat. All of the wait staff is kind and knowledgeable, you can tell they have a low turnover because many of the same employees have been there for years. I've never had a meal come out that wasn't delicious and hot. They make BOMB margaritas, too! read more
