    Queso dip

Came here today for a pick up order and when I first walked in the door, the staff was very kind and attentive, so that's a plus. So here goes the reason for the three stars, the queso had some kind of tang taste to it and the puerco red asado plate was a little too on the greasy side. My wife enjoyed her aasda mini tacos. Overall it was ok, might give them another shot in the future.

I love their queso here and their salsa is perfect to add to anything. I love their breakfast tacos. everyone at work says I'm weird but I like the Barbacoa egg with pico de gallo and extra cilantro and Barbacoa and egg are so good together! Again I love their salsa. Today I got the beef fajita taco and it is so good! I got two and I only needed one. They are not huge it's the size of a big taco. But it was really good! And I did not even use any salsa.

One of the best breakfast places in town, the food is made fresh and it is awesome. The Barbacoa is bomb.

    Chile relleno

There a million Mexican food places in Texas so what sets this place a part? Try the Chile relleno. When I was a little girl my grandmother used to make these for my grandfather maybe once a month. She would make a big batch stuffed with cheese and onion. She made the most perfect egg batter that surrounded the chili along with a tomato-based chili sauce. I've never had anything like them since until I went to La Gardenia. They make the best ones this side of the Mississippi. So the next time you're in the area stop in, everything on the menu is divine.

Been coming here for several years! The food is always good, their burritos are fat, and very affordable.

Everything is amazing. Especially the breakfast tacos. Best in Texas City, if you don't believe it go try them for yourself.

I've only ordered breakfast from here but they're fantastic. I would imagine lunch/dinner is just as good. Friendly staff and quick service.

Burritos are amazing! Also really liked their Carne Guisada. My little nephew is super picky but he loves the rice and beans with tortillas.

They were sweet and had a little spice to them. They weren't my favorite but my gf enjoyed them. 2. The Mac and cheese was good as always. It's different than other Mac and cheese I've tried and I can't exactly put my foot on it. 3. I got the curry chicken but I transferred it to a bowl because I didn't trust the styrofoam container. It comes with carrots and huge pieces of potato YUM! It was amazing and great portion size. 4. My gf got the curry chicken as well with rice and pease and cabbage CHEFS KISS 5. I got French fries as well- they were a different kind than last time I was there. I preferred the crinckle cut they had before but this was still good. Wish they were crispier. 6. From walking in this, this is literally the friendliest Jamaican restaurant I've ever been to. They were so great at describing the menu and informing us about when certain foods would be available (typically no oxtails on Mondays). PLUS they have BYOB karaoke on Fridays?!?! I haven't been yet but I'm in love qpewa Unfortunately I came on a Monday so I was conflicted because I am an oxtail girl through and through so this time I got the brown stewed chicken and jerk chicken plates which come with cabbage and rice peas. And the portions?!?!?!? Are definitely worth it (we got the large). The taste? Delicious. So yeah 5/5, I would quickly recommend!!!

There are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants in the area, but I felt Basil House deserves a go. Essentially a hole in the wall, it's located along Palmer Highway not too far from where it meets 146. The building may look small, but the interior begs to differ somewhat. This is the third time I use "Vietnamese," but what's so unique about this eatery is that it also offers Thai dishes. I decided to do both for my first visit; I ordered a Vietnamese grilled pork rice plate and Thai chicken skewers. My orders arrived at my table at the same time, which I thought was nice. Regarding the skewers, the chicken was pretty sizable. It was so tender that it came off the stick after a bite or two. I must admit it was dry, but still a nice way to start a meal. As for the main star of the show, the rice plate, I have nothing but immense love for it. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the amount of meat they placed on the plate. Tender just like the chicken, the grilled pork carried a sweet taste that got even better when dipped in the accompanying fish sauce. Oh, I forgot to mention the skewers and the rice plate had cucumbers, which raised the tangy factor. I capped everything off with fried banana and vanilla ice cream. A man who I assumed was the owner of the place acted as my server. He did an outstanding job, refilling my drink and giving me extra napkins. By my estimate, Basil House is the closest Vietnamese restaurant to my house. No need to travel at least ten miles if I want my fill in ice plates, spring rolls, or even pho.

It was an excellent little takeout Chinese place. But they sold that location and just operated their main store in Texas City -- which was still worth the drive from Seabrook (seriously). We like to travel around and try different places, but we always compared every neighborhood Chinese takeout joint to Qing Qing. Sadly, I don't think we'll be going back anytime soon. This past weekend, we burned some gasoline to go pick up an order of steamed dumplings, sesame chicken and hot & sour soup. Oh... and some plump egg rolls. When we arrived home and unpacked the bag, we were extremely disappointed. Though the service was quick, everything tasted like the kitchen was (too) quick as well. The chicken was as dry as the Sahara Desert, while the dumplings were as mucky as a Louisiana swamp. The soup was OK, though I had to doctor it, but the egg rolls were definitely Sysco ... and not the plump crispy goodness that we had become accustomed to. I wouldn't post a review like this if I thought a business was having a bad day. I mean, we all have bad days. But this was different across the board. Either the place was sold, or the owners went in a totally different direction.
