It's a decent bakery. 4 stars mostly because everything is pretty tasty. Chocolate pudding, and cannolis aren't all that great and some cookies have been stale before so minus a star for that. I get annoyed that many workers don't know English though, so always have to come in and point out what I want. The good stuff here is the pastellios! Flakey and stuffed with guava then topped with powdered sugar... I always get the mini ones they're like 3 for $1 and so so good. They also make really good cakes! I was impressed as I expected it to mostly taste like icing but they don't use an overly sweet icing so you can actually enjoy the whole piece of cake. They do some impressive decorating too, much better than the window displays. I ordered a chocolate cake with strawberry filling and they decorated it with chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate crunchies... Pretty heavenly as I didn't have any leftover afterward! They also sell hot food likes sandwiches and coffee and other things like that but I never tried them here. read more

Horrible customer service! I walked in there was only one customer in the whole bakery I was not greeted or acknowledged I literally walked out after a couple of minutes I went next door to order food then came back to the bakery to give it a second chance being that people have raved to me about their cakes I was literally there for over 10 minutes there were more employees behind the counter yet no one acknowledged me or anything. Then the woman that decided to service the customers was licking her fingers the whole time so this place is not only have horrible customer service but unsanitary. read more

I came in here wanting to order a traditional tray of tres leches. I've always had it where it comes in a tray soaked with the milk obviously. But when I ordered it, the man made it seem like it was gonna be more of a cake and it certainly was true! The cake could have fed about 50 people, it was huge! Costs about $35 for this big "tres leches" cake filled with guava and vanilla cream. Can have decorations (borders and writing) if you wish. Cake tasted good even though I wouldn't call it tres leches. I was very disappointed with the wait time. I ordered cake for 1:30pm the day before. I got there at 2:30pm next day and I had to wait til 3pm cause they were backed up. No bueno on that end. read more

Simple Spanish bakery. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches today. I had the three egg white wrap, which was quite small. The peppers were okay, but tasted sweet and out of a can, instead of roasted like I assumed they would be. So nothing to boast about. A friend of mine ordered the breakfast monster. It came on a great Cuban bread, but inside was quite pale in comparison. It only came with a few slices of salami, with egg and cheese. No sausage/bacon for a breakfast sandwich? Weird... We had a cheese Danish for desert and the bun we had was quite small to the ones we thought were displayed. Not the greatest and the dough was a bit old. The cafe con leche was quite good, but a bit strong for my taste. No low fat/skim milk for those looking to cut the calories. Overall, there were a few cakes displayed that looked really yummy, but we thought the same about the Danish. Oh well. read more

I sampled a pastry with a guava filling and before I could swallow the first one, I popped a second on in my mouth. Went in to order a cake for my son's birthday. I had heard great things about this place so I wanted to give them a try. The place wasn't busy so I was happy with my timing. The girl at the counter was not helpful at all, I told her I needed a cake for 20 people, she seemed annoyed as if my order was too small. She said she would get someone to help me. I didn't understand why she couldn't take my order as I was the only customer in the bakery at this time. She then came back and said Roy the owner was going to help me. Roy came out but was on the phone, by then 20 minutes had passed by. I then asked the girl how much longer was this going to take. I'm a huge cake person,and La Gran Via definitely delivered when it came to my wedding cake. Literally, they delivered our cake from BK to our venue in Times Square, the staff was on time and set up our cake as agreed. The cake was beautiful! It was exactly what I requested. It was a four tiers, a little over two feet tall with two flavors and four different fillings. The cake was absolutely delicious, and exceeded our expectations; perfectly moist and the combination of flavors worked great together. Unfortunately, because our wedding was somewhat outdoors the frosting began to melt and had to be kept away until the cutting. I'm sure it wouldn't have happened if we used fondant as opposed to frosting, but it still tasted amazing. I will definitely be sticking with them for all my future cake needs. The owner was also very helpful and patient during my one bridezilla meltdown. We really could not have been any happier with our cake! read more

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE! I ordered through Uber Eats and they messed up my order. When I called, the cook told me there's nothing she could do and just apologized because she said she can get fired from her job so not to say anything. I told her to make me another torta and I will send her back the one she messed up. She said if I can go pick it up since they can't deliver it to me. Keep in mind, I'm a mom of a 2 year old and a 4 month old that I breastfeed so I can't just up and leave with them when it's cold and raining outside. There's a reason I ordered delivery! She did not want to put anyone in management on the phone and said there's no one there and she's new. Why would she be left alone if she's new? The manager said there's nothing he could do and to take it up with Uber eats, I have to resolve the problem with them.
