    Caesar salad

8/21. I've eaten here 4 or 5 times, with results of 3 to 4 stars. The spicy burrito with chili con carne on top is delicious.  The jalapeños poppers are really good. Their guacamole is pretty good too. More recently, I did a take out for a few ítems. Their caesar salad was awesome, with avocado. I had Their enchiladas which are kind of tasty, too. Beans and rice ...average.. Here's what I had a problem with. Their picadillo, or hamburger as the server said, is not good. They use it in tacos, and burritos, and enchiladas and the times I've had it its not good. Here's why: its over salted and underseasoned. Its probably made in bulk and reheated as needed. Looked too dark, and the consistency is mushy. It should have garlic, onion, chili's, and cumin, and you can't taste any of that. Just salt. It's a nice place, friendly servers. More attention needs to be paid to the seasoning of food this is supposed to be.

Great food, real good service and the ambiance is just right. 10/10 authentic Mexican cuisine

Pretty generic as expected typical Mexican fare. The food was on the more bland side and the salsa was more sweet with no spice. The service was alright and they kept the drinks full. They have a large parking lot and that's about all there is to say.

Excellent food. I had the steak enchiladas and they were tasty and tender. Everything on my plate was fresh. The chips and salsa were very tasty and came warm from the kitchen. The service was fast and friendly. Restaurant overall was very clean. I would come back here without a doubt.

    Roach in food on jalapeño

ROACH IN FOOD- DISGUSTING Absolutely sick to my stomach after eating at this restaurant. We ordered the steak nachos- after eating nearly half of it I went to eat a jalapeño and noticed something on it so I picked it up to take a closer look. IT WAS A ROACH.

This place might have the same owners as El Mesquite, but if I am comparing the two, there is really no comparison. I stopped in here for a quick lunch. I was on limited time so I was happy that I was seated and my order was taken right away. I like that the chips and salsa are free- it was nice to have something to munch on while I waited. I got the chicken taquito lunch platter which came with four taquitos topped with cheese and sour cream. The platter was okay but I found the taquitos a bit too greasy for my liking. I would say it was definitely worth the $8 it cost and it was decent, but I don't know if I would order this dish again. The waitress was attentive the entire time, probably because I was one of only two customers here. Something weird happened when I went to pay the check. I paid in cash and my change came to $11.25. When the waitress brought me my change, she only brought me $11 and she kept the $.75. It's not a huge deal- it's only $.75, but I just found it strange that she took it upon herself to keep it. Maybe it was just an oversight, who knows? I would have mentioned something if I hadn't been in such a rush, and that's not why I rated them three stars, I just want future customers to be aware. I probably won't be back. Next time I am in the mood for El Mesquite, I will just go and get the real thing.

Yep, I have been wearing this location out with visits. The food quantity and quality is very good. Much like Jennifer B. says in her review, it is the Marrero version. Yeah for us. Authentic, not texmex, Mexican food. If you wanna know more about the selections and pics, just check out that review. I havent had any issues here at all. The serving staff has been quick and friendly. My kids like it alot. The location, if you been here before for Boudreauxs and the place that it originally was, Teaxas Roadhouse, well the interior is still the same. Just has a few Mexican blandishments scattered throughout. Now the huge painting of the buff Mexican guy(which kinda looks like me) makes more sense in this version than it did in the last two places. hehe. I havent had any mixed drinks or margaritas so I cant comment on selection or taste. Come on in and check it out if your burned out on Dos Gringos, El Mexicano, Taco Bell in the Marrero area.

Unlike most breweries, I don't think Courtyard has a signature beer, there are no standards Jucifer or Paradise Park. They just make new stuff all the time, then run out of it, and brew something else. I think I have seen Sonic Youth in 1983 there more than once so maybe that's the closest thing. Regardless I am saying this as a good thing because every time I go, there is something knew. Courtyard is like the ultimate dive bar of breweries. There is a pop-up style kitchen that has held a variety of eateries over the years that used to include Burger Nerds and now has a taco place. There is mismatch furniture throughout the indoors and front courtyard. Most of the seating looks like they robbed a daycare. There is a couple of tv's, a piano, bullfighting art, an eclectic record collection and tons of plants outside. All of this gives Courtyard it's charm. The people are awesome, the place is comfortable and the beer is always great.

The walk there was pretty easy...I was concerned it might get a little dicey by the interstate underpass but it really didn't. My bar is usually pretty low for breweries because they are usually run on a shoestring by a group of guys that really love beer but don't always know how to run a business. This place is a weird, eclectic vibe. The furniture and overall vibe is pretty dumpy. The bar is even super wobbly. The beer list they have online indicating it is their current list was in no way related to the beer selection they actually had available. It was super limited with a lot of IPAs and sours. Not my jam. The is a food vendor on site as well; they have burritos, quesadillas, etc. it looked okay, but i wasn't in the mood for Mexican style food. Overall, it's fine. I like to try new places. I'm glad I stopped in but i wouldn't go back.

Yet, it seems quite popular with locals and was fairly full for a Tuesday Trivia Night. I ordered a Pimm's cup since Pimm's was on the shelf - the bartender looked confused and told me they don't have any of the ingredients to make one. I changed my order to a flavored vodka - they don't stock any. I ended up ordering a Vodka & 7, but received a Vodka Soda. Were the drinks cheap? Not so much. Was the service friendly? Not so much. I ordered food hoping this was the redeeming feature of the bar. I ordered a steak sandwich at $18 - the service time was quick but the sandwich didn't have much flavor - it was a dry, difficult to bite through thin steak with not much flavor to speak of. The tater tots were crispy and hot and I loved the Brussel Sprouts; they were doused excessively in the dressing but I liked it. There is a nice patio out back - they had fans in this area which is always appreciated. This bar just didn't have the stock and amenities that many other bars in the area do have . Walk to magazine street for better options.
