Wish I looked up yelp before I went. I was hungry and saw mexican food and pulled in. My mistake. Terrible enchiladas with a weird taste. Bar area was crowded but after 5 minutes with no service I decided to move over to the restaurant. Best decision because the waitress was actually really nice and great service, which is why it got 2 stars and not 1. Chips and salsa were also not tasty. Went to my favorite restaurant and ordered the usual a vegetable burrito and it was the best one that I had ever had. I haven't been there in over a year so not sure if there is a new owner or cook, but it was the best! Lot's of spinaca sauce and good vegetables, not mostly onions and pepper. The mushrooms which I don't really like, i can tolerate some small pieces but these were large and delicious. I ate it all. I want to go back again soon. Waitress was so sweet! Mid-afternoon Sunday dinner at Hacienda del Rio is always a treat, and yesterday was no exception. The Margaritas here are always made with fresh lime juice, not sour mix - the best! At first, I was thoroughly confused as to why the dining room was half empty at ten past 6 on a Friday night- but then I had the carné asada and I was no longer confused- no sane individual with even a single working taste bud would deign to eat at this restaurant more than once. What I ordered should have been a flavorful, medium rare flank steak grilled just enough to impart a bit of texture and added flavor; what I received was a sheet of plate metal dressing up as a steak for Halloween. Our server was wonderful. Fire your chef. Heck, fire any kitchen staff who let that monstrosity be plated and served. I don't see why there's so much hate for this restaurant on Yelp, but I really like the food here. We went through 3 rounds of the complimentary nachos. The margaritas were very strong too, for me at least. I somehow managed to drink 2 of them. I ordered the Ultimate Burrito, because if it's your first time here, you gotta go big right? The best way I can describe it is that it's sweet-ish? Love every bite of the rice, veggies, sour cream and meat from the burrito. Horrible quality. Colors of Mexico enchiladas sauce was dry, seemed reheated. Rice was pretty bland. We also ordered baby back ribs which are posted on their menu as "roasted for hours until tender and falling off the bone then fire grilled to order", we were in for a surprise... the ribs were hard as a rock, impossible to separate from one another and even hard to penetrate with a fork. 4 Stars for the strong margs and great bartender Robin. She's been there a long time and is so sweet! The appetizers are classic frozen type food, good while drinking. We surprisingly enjoyed the spicy, loose salsa that comes with chips. Great to have while we drank our margaritas. I would say don't come here if you're looking for classic mexican/ spanish food, but the drinks and vibe is great in the bar! read more

The food here is absolutely awful! The Jalapeño poppers are even worse than available frozen supermarket brands. The shrimp in our salad was clearly frozen, and completely tasteless. My burrito was bland, and the meat inside dry. They even managed to serve a scoop of frozen sour cream with every serving. Not joking, it looked like whipped butter and was loaded with frozen ice chips throughout. This place sucks! The only good thing about it is the fact that I have a great story about the absolute worst Mexican food I've ever had in my 50+ years of existence. read more

La Hacienda's not-so-Happy Hour: I haven't been here in 15 some odd years, I was crazing tacos and beer. I ask the bartender: "ayyyyy, you what are your happy hour specials?". Her"Cheap tacos and nachos, and reduced price margaritas and draft beers". Here is my "happy hour" tab: Margarita -$9.00 x2 =$18.00 Pumpkin Head Ale -- $7.25 ....THERE'S NOTHING HAPPY ABOUT THIS! Who charges $9 a Margarita for happy hour!? ...discounted beer is $7.25!?!?!? To be fair, the tacos were 2.95 a piece, and they were mediocre. Didn't hate them, but nothing noteworthy about them. I could have eaten anywhere in Nashua for the same price non-happy hour and would have been priced the same and a better experience. The people here, however we're all awesome. Interesting conversations with locals at the bar, the bartender was an absolute sweethaht, it's a place I'd want to frequent more often it weren't for the unlabeled overpriced drinks and mediocre food. 2/5 Stars. read more

To say this place is horrible is too much of a compliment. I sat at the bar and it somehow took 20 minutes to get a menu, and another 20 to get chips. The food had absolutely no flavor, and the bartender was getting more drunk by the minute. I had to pull the Busser aside to grab me everything I needed, besides my margaritas. I have been frequenting the DW highway in Nashua my whole life and finally stopped in here for a drink (after playing some arcade games at Funworld). I cannot comment on the food, but I have some chips and alcoholic beverages. The service was very nice, but the restaurant was a little dirty. Pictured is a spicy margaritas that was actually fantastic. Free chips and salsa are a plus. I am obsessed with La Carreta - which is across the road, so I will continue to be going there - hard to pick this over it. read more

After a long day of skiing we were driving back to Boston and in need of something warm for dinner. Stopped at this place on a whim, and it totally hit the spot! There were a few mishaps, however, our server (wish I got his name) was SUPER friendly and made the whole experience worth it. From the minute we walked in the door, he was excited to greet us. I ordered the enchiladas not knowing my whole thing (including the beans) came with melted cheese on top - I cant have cheese but this was totally my fault - however my server happily replaced it for me! I also ordered the birthday cake (I think thats the name???) martini. Seems odd that a Mexican place would have martinis but it was DELICIOUS. My server accidentally bumped part of my drink and gave me another one on the house. Things that could be improved: -Guac is under seasoned and needs more salt -Rice was a bit bland -Getting our appetizer took a bit long Otherwise, an overall good experience! read more

I would say the service was good say that will be the one star, but the waitress we had didnt even ask how the food was or why most of it was left on our plate nor why we chose to not take it home either. The chose regular taco meat and it taste sweet. Taco meat is not supposted to taste sweet. The beans that came with tasted awful. Could not describe the taste. A very weird taste to them. The rice tasted like they used dirty water to make it. We ordered queso, the queso came with spinach pieces in it. Sorry guys but usually its supposed to be green chillis and if your going to choose a green for a mecican dish should be cilantro and it just tasted like salty white goo. No flavor. We also got margaritas. These came in very small margaritas glasses and were very very weak. For $13.99 each I should taste that tequila. A waste of $119 quite truly. Just go taco bell. I have again become a regular (couple to few times a month). I love the locals, shenanigans one might observe on a weekend late afternoon, and the seasoned staff who know how to do it right! Salsa (prefer the version with more heat, just ask), espinaca dip, buffalo tenders and Bleu cheese dressing still rockin it. My friends and family love the fajita and quesadilla... If you've read my review of chipotle then you know Mexican sometimes gives me the shits. I am happy to report that this place did not disappoint. I had to shit so bad that I shit a little as I stood up to leave and I shit a whole lot more when I started walking. The waitstaff did a tremendous job mopping up my shit especially during the covid outbreak. They sprayed sanitizer on my shit just to make sure others would catch the corona from the clumps of shit on the floor. We never turn away food even if it's not what we ordered but these tacos were $6 each and completely stale. you could bend the crunchy taco shell and the shrimp smelled and tasted spoiled.Our waitress was super nice about it and understood. she even tried the food once bringing it back and agreed it was not okay. it also seemed this wasn't the first time today that someone had sent food back. the water tasted horrible. the prices of food and drinks are way too high for the quality of food you're getting. Our server was understanding and removed the food from our bill. she was great. however, will definitely not be returning here. very disappointing as small mexican restaurants usually have the best food. read more
