I ordered the asada fries and the birria tacos. The meat on the fries was dry and old. It was horrible. Other than that, the flavor was ok. I have been gate keeping this place for a while but it is just soooo good. Frequently get the Birra pizza to share with some friends. There is also a market inside with many other things for sale. Order at the counter and they bring the food out. The staff is very kind and loves chatting with the customers. Everyone needs to try this place !! read more

This is a tucked away gem, being from California it seemed so hard to find places that remind me of home. Until I came to La Huasteca! They have a big selection of Hispanic candy, I was able to find candy I ate as a child. Like the watermelon suckers with a coat of tajin.. The service was superb, we came in 12 minutes before closing. My niece wanted this birria pizza, that pizza is absolutely delicious. Not only is this a store they have a restaurant inside with a lot of authentic Spanish food. I will come here to try a few more dishes. Even though we came right before closing the gentleman was very friendly. Took our order he was pleasant and nice. We ended up getting so much candy, I literally had to hide it from myself. First time. Ordered the popular Pizza Birria. Wow! This is so good and flavorful. I was expecting bland taste, but I was pleasantly surprised. AMAZING food! I grew up in California on REAL Mexican food, not TexMex. Found this gem and it brought me back to my childhood growing up. SO good, friendly staff and service. I'm almost embarrassed to say how often I will be eating here again, cause it is just what I have been craving. Cute note - I had to pressure my granddaughter to at least take a sip of the horchata (cause I KNEW she would like it if she tried it). Result? She stole my cup of horchata! This is a small restaurant that is part of a small grocery store. When we walked in we were greeted by a server. The menu we used was on tv screens over the kitchen. After you order if you want a drink, you go to the fridges and pick your own drinks. Huge selection of drinks. Food was fast and really good. We all got some form of birria. I got the birria burrito, my friend got the birria ramen, and another got the small birria quesadilla. We all loved it. Tacos were good as well. Can't go wrong with anything here. This is definitely a family-owned hidden gem inside of a Hispanic market. Everyone's so friendly here. I had Taco de al pastor, lengua, Tripitas, Quiso rojo, and Quesabirria with consume. The best Al pastor that I've had in OKC so far 5/5, quiso rojo 4.5/5. Will come back and try their menudo and birria ramen when I have time. This place is a little bit on the pricier end compared with other taquerias that I've tried, but the place is bright and clean with sitting areas both inside and outside. read more

This is a great little Mexican food gem! Absolutely fresh made when you order. Big bonus is while you wait for your fresh made food, shop some of the numerous grocery items I've never seen in a common grocery store, pickled hot veggies, 100's of different types of hot sauces. Quesabirria tacos are the thing to get here. For $2.49 they are bigger than your usual street tacos -- crispy, full of cheese and shredded beef and just the right amount of oil, cilantro and spices. They are definitely being done right here, with lots of flavor alone. Their consomé on the side is mild and doesn't stick to them enough to impact flavor much. But I do like their two spicy salsas -- a green and bright orange -- so I hardly noticed. The regular street tacos are $1.89 each -- heavy with meat, lots of flavor. The al pastor and asada aren't dry per se, but are prepared in a low-oil fashion so they lack that oily texture and additional flavor it adds. It makes a difference. But still, they're good tacos, you could definitely do much worse. La Huasteca is now part of a convenience store, so they take cards and have tables inside. Not sure if they even have the truck anymore. The friendly folks here are another great reason to stop in. I'm on the fence between 4 and 5 stars, but they could improve a few things. Went here tonight and wow! I finally found a place to come for some delicious homemade authentic food!! Cooked to order, fresh and tasty ingredients! The tacos had just the perfect amount of spices, although the rice was a bit salty for my liking the tamales had the perfect masa to pork ratio. The candy was super tasty too! They take your order and get to cooking ASAP, while you wait you can have some ice cream or a snow cone. They have a wide variety of popular foods . Yum yum, I will be back! read more

I love this truck! It's the coolest looking taco truck in town. They can be found just south of 16th & MacArthur on the west side next to the convenient store. They own the store as well. In fact, they are working on getting the kitchen inside up and running. That way the truck can start going to events and businesses. The tacos are fantastic. At $2 each, they're a hell of a deal. They are bigger than regular street tacos and taste excellent. My first time there I had 3 tacos and I was full for the rest of the day. They have other things than tacos, and I plan on trying them all! read more

This place is amazing! The food was so good and very authentic. They don't have the food truck anymore, so they moved the kitchen inside of the convenience store. My husband and I heard from some close friends to try this place out, so of course we had to! The truck is located off MacArthur and 16th, definitely cant miss it with the trucks vibrant colors! The menu is nicely displayed on a chalk located directly in front of the truck. They have everything from single menu items to meals. Tacos are $2/each so my husband and I opt to try all the different meats for the tacos. I can tell you this is a true, authentic Mexican food truck! I didn't even have time to take a photo of the tacos because my husband and I couldn't stop ourselves from eating them! They have double shells with onions and cilantro! Our favorites were carne asada, pastor, and langue. Their Verde sauce is also so delicious, I took some home and ate it with some chicken! Look man. This place is the go to for tacos in OKC. I had the Birria tacos, horchata, beans and rice, and elotes en vaso. It's was all so good. The birria tacos were doubled up on the tortillas and lightly dipped in the broth. Garnished with cilantro. These were great. The Elote was spicy yet a great treat.
