    Pupusa, queso con loroco

I loved the ambience of this place and the fun atmosphere. Definitely not a place I would've noticed if it weren't for yelp because it's sort of hidden behind a Valero. I went on a cold evening and seeing the blazing neon blue lights from the parking lot definitely was welcoming! The El Salvadorean/Honduran pride was ubiquitous and equally charming! I was welcomed by a very sweet lady who greeted my roommate and I in Spanish! Thankfully the both of us speak it so it really wasn't a problem for us :) Now for the food. The pupusas were every bit as amazing as how others have described them!!!! I got the one that was "queso con loroco". Definitely something I'll be coming back for regularly!!!! The horchata was great too and definitely different from the Spanish or Mexican variety in the sense that it was less milk and more cinnamon and sugar. Unfortunately, my barbacoa torta was not what I had hoped for. The size was great but it lacked meat and flavor. I don't know whether that's how this specific variety is made but it just was not something I particularly enjoyed. My roommate ordered chicken flautas and described them as "average". She also mentioned that she wished that it came with a slice of avocado or two and spicier salsa. As I said before the ambience is fun and the pupusas are off the chain :) I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

Siempre he ido a comer allí, pero esta vez se pasaron, los plátanos todos quemados, y negros, como que los pusieron a freír en el mismo aceite del pollo! I've always gone to eat there, but this time they went overboard, the bananas all burned, and black, like they were fried in the same oil as the chicken!!!!

    Pollo Guisada Plate

We were in Arlington to watch A&M BTHO Arkansas...again. Needed breakfast tacos and found this gem. No tacos (Salvadoran food) but their huge breakfast burritos did the job and were delicious. We walked back to eat after the game. I had their Tipico Salvadoran specialty plate and my wife had the Pollo Guisada. Wow!!! We're tex-mex lovers from San Antonio. It's different but very good. There were a few people in there but that place should have been packed with people waiting for traffic to ease up.

Burrito was 2.99 on menu but charged 3.99

Ok food but when it came to the check they added a dollar for each plate. When we asked why it was different from the menu the waitress said that they have there own price. Coffee was supposed to be free since we were there before 11 but since the waitress didn't give us the check till after 11 we had to pay.

Nice find! Friendly staff. Clean. Good food for a good price! They have not only Mexican but Salvadoran and Honduran foods on the menu!

The pupusas are the best in town. If you have never tried a pupusa, I recommend it, they are doughy cheesy goodness top if off with the pickled cabbage and it is the bomb!!!

    Steak torta to go!

Bread is always so stale and pork tamales never have any meat in them. It's just masa and they are barely fully cooked

The restaurant reveals itself to be larger once you're inside. It's a cozy dining experience and I liked the cluttered decor of Mexican tchotchkes and liquor bottles. The owners were very kind to reserve tables for our large group and arrange for us all to pay separately. I tried the cheese enchiladas and they were very filling - they came with Spanish rice and refried beans on the side. I was tempted by the taco salad... some fellow diners ordered it and they were serving size was enormous! Most dishes here seemed well suited to having enough leftovers for the next day.

Got pretty crowded by the time we left around 2:00 rising to a little bit noisy noise level. We got a guacamole side, taco plate, chicken chimichanga, and blue Cancun drink. Everything was pretty good sized. However, the guac and drink respectively were padded with lettuce and ice. Despite the padding, you still got a good amount--just not as much as it appears. The quality of everting was good, nothing was exceptional, but it was above average. The manager, server, and hostess were all very nice and provided good service. The lot was crowded both when we got there and when we left, but we were able to get a spot. Nice place for a casual sit down or business lunch. Give them a try.

They had to go and change things. They cut food from the menu. I loved the beef chimichanga. They no longer include soup with your order took butter off the table. They do still have the great warm salsa and chips. The beef fajitas are still real good and a good price. The flour tortillas are not as good as the old days. I like the margaritas as will. We still go just not as much as before. The service is very good for us sometimes like anywhere they have bad days. We go Friday night and the place used to be busy not anymore. I think it is because they change the menu.

We decided to head over to the ever popular El Arroyo. We were hoping to be able to find a parking spot in their packed parking lot. I say this kindly since El Arroyo is very popular and to plan accordingly. I'm an amputee and there are only two handicapped spaces. Arriving we were optimistic, and we were in luck. We didn't get a handicapped spot but one just as good on the end of a row allowing my lots of room to transfer to my mobility chair. We love El Arroyo's patio, and it was going full blast. The hostess tagged the perfect accessible table for us and had it cleaned and set! We settled in and were greeted with salsa and a basket of piping hot chips. There was an awesome vocalist singing America standards in the background. She was wonderful, I wish I had gotten her name. Ashley, our incredible server, greeted us and took our drink order. It was definitely margarita time. We love their margaritas! They're a must if you're dining at the restaurant. After looking at the menu, my wife and I decided to split an order of chicken fajitas for one. We've found out fajitas for one are perfect for the two of us. The order usually provides at least two fajitas for each of us. So that's what we ordered. This would be the first time we'd ordered fajitas at the restaurant. In a jiff, Ashley delivered our margaritas to the table. She apologized that the food may take a bit longer since it was Friday evening and the restaurant was slammed. We told her we were in no hurry and just wanted to relax. We sat back, munched on chips and salsa and enjoyed the live entertainment. After a reasonable wait, dinner was served! Our chicken fajita entree was delivered smoking and sizzling along with all the necessary sides. Oh my, the fajitas smelled so good. We knew by the smoky smell they were going to be incredible, and YES, they were. They were some of the best chicken fajitas we've ever had. The chicken had just the right amount of marinade on it, and it was grilled to perfection. The side, rice, refried beans, guac and pico, were perfectly prepared and seasoned. To the flour tortillas, they were some of the softest and most tender tortillas we've had. To top the evening's visit off, Ashley, even though she was super busy, took excellent care of us. Thank you, El Arroyo for a relaxing dining experience, superior customer service with a smile, and a pronominal order of chicken fajitas. We'll see you again soon.
