This is hands down literally the BEST Mexican food I have ever had. My bf and I are from VA where good Mexican restaurants are few and far between. We always seek out Mexican food because we are avid tacos eaters. We have also tried Mexican food on the West Coast too and this doesn't compare. We happened to stumble upon this place via Yelp while on the road and SO glad we did. We recommend the Tacos and the Huaraches. OMG. I was in Mexican food heaven. They give you all the fixings with your meal too -- lime, cucumbers, radish and spicy pickled onions. Oh and don't forget the red and green sauces. Delicious, authentic Mexican food! We were invited to try a couple of off menu items, including chile relleno and house made tortillas. They did not disappoint. My husband appreciated the heat in the chicharron tacos, and we both loved the sopas al pastor. We found this place on Yelp as we were passing through town. I was craving Mexican food and this place definitely delivered. The place is small but we were greeted by friendly wait-staff upon entering. They instantly brought us chips, salsa, pickled onions, cucumber, and limes. As we were looking over the menu, one of the waiters came by and let us sample a cucumber stuffed with chickpeas and spices. Delicious! The menu isn't huge, but there was still variety and everything looked delectable. We ordered two different types of fajitas and both were fantastic. Everything was so fresh and tasty. If you're looking for delicious and authentic Mexican food La Jalisciense is the place to go in the CSRA. Coming from CA, this is some of the best food I've had since I left there! It's not a fancy location, but the people are welcoming and service is good. Everything we've eaten here has been great! I especially like the al pastor tacos and gorditas. Love that they have cold Mexican beers like Negro Modelo, Dos Equis, etc. The Horchata is refreshing too. And if you like soccer there is usually a game on the tv :) read more

I do believe this is an authentic Mexican restaurant. The food was excellent. It is a hole in the wall type of place and those are usually the best. The menu is small, but I think that's a good thing because they can focus on making what they have on the menu super great. They only serve beer as far as alcohol goes. The salsa was amazing and they also served two different types of sauces you could add to it. A bowl of cucumbers and radishes, a bowl of slivered onions with habanero's and a bowl of limes. The owner told us he use the cucumbers and radishes to add to tacos, I use them to buy it on when my mouth got a little hot from the wonderful Salsa. Wow! Such great flavor! Everything was cooked perfectly! My husband and I very much enjoyed our meals. We split pork and steak tacos, a steak quesadilla, a chicken gordito, and one other item that I cannot remember the spelling, but it was a tortilla topped with beans, meat, cheese, avocado, and lettuce. Our waitress spoke broken English, but was so kind and honestly it wasn't a big deal that we couldn't communicate well...what she brought out was awesome even if it wasn't what we ordered! My husband and I tried this restaurant based on the suggestions from others on this sight. We were not let down. I had the Chili Rellenos they were delicious, fresh peppers and hot from the stove. My husband tried the beef Haraches. He thought they were delicious as well. We also tried the Aqua frescas, mine was the melon and he tried the hibiscus. Both very refreshing. If this wasn't so far from our house, we would probably be here more often. I tried the huaraches which was extremely filling and my husband tried the zopes. I really wanted to try the chile rellenos so I will have to go back at some point. The salsa was tasty, but the chips left something to be desired. Everyone really liked what they ordered. The two sauces that they leave at the table had a pretty good kick, but both were good. Previous Yelpers were right that the pickled red onions were really good to put on the dish. read more

If you are looking for cheese dip and taco salad, this is not a place for you. However, if you want legit Mexican food, this is a must try place. This is the only place in the Augusta area I have been to that serves authentic Mexican food. The staff is really welcoming and nice and the food was fantastic. This is just some good, real Mexican food. It's not fancy, the menu is small, and their tacos come in corn tortillas the way tacos are supposed to. Don't let the sketchy exterior scare you away, this is probably the closest thing to Mexico you're going to find in the area. Give it a try. read more

Excellent homemade corn tortillas. I got the fajitas, and they were delicious. It had shrimp, beef, chicken, chorizo, squash, bell peppers, and more on the plate. YUM YUM! And the pickled red onions were great with my fajitas. IT is a small place, not fancy, and has an attached grocery section. You don't get chips and dip with your meal like most tex mex places, I also didn't get sour cream, and cheese on my food, like other Tex mex places, But the food was so good I didn't think about it util I was almost done eating. I love coming to La Jalisciense to get authentic Mexican food. There are not many places around that sell delicious, but authentic Mexican food. It takes a little longer to receive your food here, but you have to think, everything is made fresh and from scratch, even the tortillas (which are always better home made). Their quesadillas are to die for and their tacos are awesome too. They pack both with tons of meat that's so flavorful. The service is good too. I haven't had a bad experience here ever.
