This place is an old retrofitted bus parked on a lot between two building on a Main Street. It has a small bar table to sit at inside but most sit at the tables set up outside next to it. They offer a variety of combo meals to choose from. We tried the Enchiladas regular with rice and beans and a couple chicken street tacos. The enchilada meal came with 3 nice size enchiladas with your choice of protein - I choose beef and chicken. We did chicken on the tacos. While the enchiladas were super tasty the tacos seemed a little dry. Maybe some verde sauce would help? The order was prepared promptly and the staff was friendly and helpful. Super cool retrofitted bus with decent street tacos. Our kids were satisfied! The line is a bit ridiculous at times, understandably so. We took some plates of food to go and ate them in our car, as it was cold outside and there was absolutely no room on the interior. Took a taco tour around town, and this place has the best salsa. It's located right in the middle of downtown where you actually walk into the bus to order. There are a few tables outside to enjoy the food or benches inside. The meat was very well seasoned but the tortilla was wet & soggy by the way they wrapped it up. The food came out pretty quickly and the servers were all very helpful and patient. My friend thought it was the best place out of the three we tried in town. Food was okay , not great. The experience was pretty woeful. You climb into a run down bus. The counter is a small cutout where you can see the kitchen and cook. The woman at the counter was all smiles. I first ask for flour tacos and she no, just corn, but the burritos were flour. I then ask for a bean burrito and was told no bean burritos. Ok, I ordered a steak burrito. She then asked me if I wanted refried beans with that. So I guess if you just point to the numbered picture on the placard on the wall, you can save yourself lots of frustration. read more

I initially had my doubts about this cozy place, but I've also heard that most of the authentic Mexican foods start this way, so wanted to give it a try. Ceviche being among my favorite Mexican foods, I chose Tostada ceviche. The flavor it had was just out of the world. I was so impressed to find such high quality Mexican food in West Yellowstone! A local recommended his favorite, carnitas tacos, and they were perfection. I would say it would rival some of the better LA street tacos. I would absolutely eat here if I was in the area again.... in fact I'm probably going to dream about those carnitas! My meal from here was just not good at all. I got the Chile relleno and tostada. Tostada was ok and relleno was terrible. It was clearly a sauce from a can and the pepper was pickled and weird. I don't know what kind of Chile relleno that was but certainly not good. Mexican food is usually always a safe bet, even in tiny towns, but this is probably the worst Mexican food I've ever had. After a long day in Yellowstone I was craving Mexican food and something different from the standard American meal. I stumbled across "Las Palmitas"! You climb aboard the bus and stand in line to place your order. After placing your order you wait outside on one of the benches and wait for your number to be called. Once your number has been called, you pick up your food from a window on the side of the bus. I ordered one shredded beef taco, and two chicken tacos. They came with rice, beans, a Mexican salad, and spicy red salsa! This meal was beyond delicious and also authentic!!! The flavors reminded me of Northern Mexico! The staff here is also very kind and welcoming! If I was not flying back home the next day, I would have tried more dishes. If I am ever in Yellowstone again I will definitely try more of their food! We ended up eating in Las Palmitas two nights in a row because every other place in west Yellowstone was packed and had over one hour wait times. Las Palmitas is uncomplicated, walk into a school bus, place your order and wait for it in the patio. Lots of people just do takeout so it was easy enough to find a table opening one night and the other night we shared a table with another couple who had extra seats. La Jungla's service was very fast and the servers were kind but the service was nothing special. The ambiance was quite cute with an indoor seating in the food truck which was so cute and lots of tables for seating outside of the restaraunt. They had a concise menu where I ordered the pastor, picadillo, and pollo tacos. I got the taco plate so the tacos came with rice and beans. Overall it was an ok dish. The tacos were tasty, but the meat was quite dry and the portions weren't to my liking. The rice and beans were also ok. The pricing was quite affordable so if you want a quick spot to eat right after coming from Yellowstone this would be a good place to eat, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend La Jungla to others. read more

Landed up in West Yellowstone after a week in the Yellowstone 'neighborhood'. Always one for trying something different, this was a really pleasant surprise. The service was quick and the AC bus was a cool reprieve in the mid-day sun. The tables were clean and it appeared that the staff cared about their quality of service delivery.. Watching kitchen staff at work is always a treat and watching the crew at work on the Las Palmitas was no exception. They seemed to jive well and produced some tasty dishes which were served quickly. The salsa was awesome with just the right heat to spruce things up! We spent way too much time up in Yellowstone and everything was closed. But we'd seen the bus taco truck and decided to give it a try. I am soooooo glad we did. I had the Camarones Al crema and it's so good. I took the giant tortilla they gave me and soaked up the sauce. Husband had the polo Diablo, enchiladas Colorado, enchiladas Rojas and an enchilada ranchera. Yeah. He had leftovers but wanted to try everything. I'm taking the leftovers home because it's so happy I need it for breakfast. My son did the enchiladas verdes with carnitas. because he's obsessed with enchiladas. I have no idea how they tasted because he wouldn't let me try them. At them all himself. My only thing I wasn't a fan of was the refried beans. They were a little dry but I'm assuming it's because it was crazy late. Flavor was good, just texturally not what I was expecting. Got takeout after a long day of exploring. I ordered the garlic shrimp plate. My friends got a carne asada burrito and a loaded burrito. One of my friends wanted it spicy and it was caked with red chili pepper flakes which made it somewhat inedible. The hot sauce they serve with it is pretty spicy as well. My garlic shrimp was ok and the servings are a decent size which filled us up. It was a busy time and they told us our food would take 30 min but it took 45-50 min. What is nice is that they only allow one group in their bus at a time to order so you can properly social distance and they do take phone orders as well. read more

I read all the reviews on all the places to eat and no one sounded very excited about their food or their service. This place had by far the most reviews and the most stars, so we choose it. Don't be fooled by the big food truck where only one guy speaks English. There is room to eat inside the bus for about 14 people comfortable or there are about 14 tables outside. I ate inside because it was windy. I ordered the steak fajitas and my husband had the Carne Asada. We both really enjoyed. I asked for more sour cream for my dish and they were happy to give it to me! I may come back tonight! read more

This was the last thing I was expecting in Yellowstone. I wish I took a picture of the "foodtruck". It's pretty neat as they took an old bus and converted to something you can actually sit down in. You can see the beginning of their sign "Mexican" while walking down the street. I had the pastor enchilada and hubby had carnitas. Both were good. Pastor wasn't that spicy so it was perfect for me. The garnished some sort of carrots was awesome, and this is coming from someone who thinks carrots taste like dirt.
