Spending three days in West Yellowstone, Montana, I didn't conduct a thorough research for vegan options, so after leaving Yellowstone late last night many restaurants were already closed. I got scared because I didn't want to solely eat protein bars. I quick Google and Yelp search secured this falafel spot. I was shocked and didn't expect to find falafels in Montana of all places. Thankfully, the falafels are VEGAN!! It's a one man show meaning, the owner takes the orders and cooks the food. The falafels are MADE to ORDER, so the wait time is quite long. He takes two orders per person not to lose track of orders. I ordered the falafel combo which comes with six falafels, rice, hummus, a small salad, and a drink all for $20/even. Even though the card machine says $.60 cent tax, the owner won't accept and is firm about the solid bill. Now for the food: the falafels were very tasty. Savory; not gritty or chunky. The falafels are hockey pucks, not round balls. I appreciate the shape since they were easier to dig out the hummus. The hummus was not my favorite thing. It tasted like straight tahini with chickpeas. No lemony flavor. It wasn't gross, but the taste of tahini is acquired alone. The salad is a mixture of onions, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes. Nothing extravagant, but was fresh. The rice is yellow with faint seasoning, but it is delicious fluffy and cooked well. The location is a tad bit confusing though; if using Google maps it'll take you to the wrong Chevron. To locate the food truck, go to the Chevron gas station in front of a clothing store and next general store with the ice cream out front. The owner was very nice and on a Saturday night, he didn't close at 10pm like Google says. It stays open later. Food hit the spot after exploring Yellowstone all day. I slept like a baby! read more

I've had a lot of falafel so I know good falafel when I have it. We had the combo plate (very large portion) and a Regular wrap. Both were excellent and made very fresh. The guy that runs it (Alon I think) takes pride in his food and you can tell. West Yosemite seems to be a desert for good, healthy fresh food but The Falafel Spot was the oasis. read more

After a day of poor food from being in the park, I was starving! I was so happy to find this place. This location is a food truck that's parked near a gas station. We parked in the back and walked over. Several other people were in line ordering, but the wait wasn't too long. The owner was friendly and busy cooking all the fresh food. There is one table outside, but we took our food to go. This is a falafel truck, so get the falafel! I ordered the falafel plate and it was soo delicious! The flavors were perfect. My friend ordered the shawarma plate, but the meat was very overcooked. The flavor and everything else was so good, we couldn't score this place lower though. If you're looking for a break from burgers and bbq in West Yellowstone and want something more healthy and lighter this is a great spot to do so. It's a good truck right next to the Chevron gas station. They have hotdogs, fries, nachos, grilled cheese sandwiches but their main items are Falafel sandwich wrap, falafel plate, or a falafel plate with hummus. I believe the falafel plate is just falafels with salad and veggies. I went with regular sized falafel wrap for $10, which came with a generous portion of falafel balls, cucumbers, lettuce, I believe tzatziki sauce. It was good! My only complaint was the falafel was a little dry. Most places I go to the falafel is dry so I get the complexity, there are very few places I been to where the falafel is crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside, and it's perfect. Although a little dry, I still enjoyed my wrap l. I hope they expand their menu and have something like a falafel bowl that comes with Mediterranean rice, salad, cucumbers, pickled cabbage, peppers, falafel, all covered in tzatziki sauce, with a side of pita bread and hummus because I would order that all day! read more

My boyfriend and I came frequented this place twice during our stay, and the second night was on fourth of July night! I would highly recommend this place because the food is fresh, and they were working so late into the night on July fourth just for the long queue of customers. FYI there is zero Indian food in West Yellowstone besides the grocery store with some pantry food, so this place really saved us. I tried the hummus and it tasted good. The location is also convenient and they do have some outdoor tables if you choose to sit outside and eat. The workers are friendly too!! read more

Pretty good! The falafel was definitely one of the best we've tried in the states. It was well made and its freshness was apparent. The sides that arrived with it complimented the falafel and enhanced the dish as a whole. The falafel wrap was also delicious. The people working the stand were incredibly friendly. The owner is so nice. The falafels are amazing! A tiny bit spicy for really sensitive kids but cooked perfectly. My daughter said it was the best dinner ever! She loved the falafels with the tahini sauce. The sauces were delicious also. It's in a food truck right on the side of the gas station so harder to find at first but totally worth it. Definitely get your food here!! It's authentic as he is from Israel. He makes all his food from scratch and won't use any frozen ingredients. The only thing that is a little surprising is he uses tortillas instead of pita bread because he wants only fresh ingredients and can only get frozen pita in Montana. It's not easy to find vegetarian-friendly food in West Yellowstone. We wanted a quick bite before continuing our drive. This food truck fit the bill. Prices were higher than previously posted (inflation I guess). $15 for a regular wrap. $12 for a small. The owner and his daughter explained the limited menu of falafel wraps or falafel plates. (Supply issues.) We got authentic falafel sandwiches on a cold tortilla (closest pita is in California he says) with hummus, veggies, rice, tzatziki, hot sauce. Tasty. Nothing fancy. Plenty of tables to sit at. Not a lot of ambiance in a gas station parking lot. But, quick and friendly. read more

It is food truck near Yellowstone national park which serves dishes made of falafel. From the menu we decided to order Falafel Hummus Plate and Falafel plate. We had to wait for 20-30 minutes to get our order. The food was hot and falafel were freshly prepared. The falafel plate was delicious and tasty. I've been on the road for four days driving across this country. Along the way finding a good meal can be pretty difficult. The further I get from California the more my options become limited. We really enjoy visiting West Yellowstone, and have always appreciated the smiling faces in this community. But today I made a new friend. Let me tell you about Isaac at The Falafel Spot. He doesn't do politics, he just loves people. But not only that he loves his craft and it shows. Have you ever had falafel done the right way? Do you love hummus? Are you a stickler for authenticity? Because quite frankly, I don't know that I ever tasted better Falafel in my life. Don't ask him how he makes it, instead trust his methods and his integrity. Because you aren't going to find fresher food or greater passion for feeding people this close to the continental divide. My son tried falafel for the first time at Isaacs spot. He ate 11. Case closed. Our family will continue to return to West Yellowstone for lots of reasons but my absolute go to for food will be Issac and his intrepid crew at The Falafel Spot. Meh. Reasons for meh. 1. Too much rice/bad ratios. We were a large group of 8 and we finished all the falafel and shawarma chicken on the combo plates but only ate about half or a quarter the rice and other things. Would have liked to just buy chicken/falafel. We also got wraps and the same - not enough of the main part. The wraps are a regular Mexican tortilla. 2. Bad hours. We were told they opened at 5pm by a local. Called to be sure - and were told they "try" to open at 6pm, 6:30 at the latest. We arrived at 6:45 and had to wait about 20 min while one guy ignored us completely and chatted with a friend outside the food truck. The other worker, more owner type at least said hello and thanks for waiting. Not great customer service. 3. The falafels and shawarmachicken were good but lacking. We have visited this Falafel Spot several times through the years and the owner is AMAZING, polite, friendly, and gave us incredible customer service. The food is delicious, authentic and FRESH! In town for a couple nights and stumbled by this truck. Everything was extremely fresh and flavors were on point. Definitely not the food you'd expect in the area but we love falafel and this was a pleasant discovery. Can't recommend highly enough you won't be disappointed! read more

Wow! What an amazing experience and pleasant surprise in West Yellowstone! Vegetarians/Vegan delight even for non vegetarians. They were so nice and so pleasant to chat with. We had the falafel taco, the wrap, and lentil soup. Some of the best food and flavors we've had. The taco is a loaded and quite large with a large soft tortilla boat style taco. The wrap is filling and loaded with veggies. Ask for some authentic "hot sauce" for extra flavor. They are located in the gas station parking lot. read more
