Avoid this food truck. If I could give it zero stars, I would. This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The owner immediately told us our party was too big. We arrived with our family of 5 and my brother's family of 7. Since I have celiac disease and this was one of the few places I could eat, my wife stayed to order while I the rest of us went to McDonalds. When I returned with my three young kids, the owner actually scolded us for bringing back McDonald's, even though we had done that to make his life easier. He also ignored the party of six behind us who had been waiting for at least 30 minutes and instead took the order of the group behind them (4 people). After waiting nearly 40 minutes just to order (there was only one party in front of us), our food was finally handed to us in a bag with hairs stuck under the sealing sticker. For celiac friendly food, it was above average- but it wasn't worth the hostility. There are plenty of places that appreciate their customers. This isn't one of them. Update: The owner's response leaves out important context. We arrived as two families totaling 12 people. After he said he wouldn't serve a group that size, my brother's family left. Because I have celiac disease and this was one of the few places I could safely eat, my wife stayed to order while I took our three young children to McDonald's. When I returned with just my kids, the owner told me to "get that McCrap out of here," not to use his trash cans, and later called me "a dick" to my wife. He also accused our nephews of scratching his table. We checked the table before leaving and found no scratches. After I posted this review, he publicly called us "terrible parents" and "terrible people," told me to "go back to Utah" even though I'm not from Utah, and later sent me a private message calling me "full of crap" and "utard." Found this DELICIOUS food on our last night in town. Have been wishing for another meal since leaving. MUST TRY!!! GLUTEN FREE Onion Rings were AMAZING!! I haven't ordered onion rings while eating out in over 20yrs due to GF. I can't put into words how delicious these were along with my grilled chicken sandwich on a yummy GF roll. It's a food truck, so seating outside. We went on a very nice night, but it was cool out. Took about 15 mins to get our food. I had the bison burger and my wife had the fish and chips. Both were excellent. Another couple said the lobster grilled cheese is their favorite thing in town. I didn't try it, but it sounds good. Was open for lunch at 1pm on Tuesday so posted hours are current! Upscale red food truck serves lobster rolls, but we opted for the cheeseburger sub o-rings for fries. Delicious, hot and freshly made food, so don't get in a rush. Nice clean picnic tables shaded by red and white umbrellas to enjoy your meal. Very nice man (owner?) takes your order, cooks and serves checked in twice to be sure we were happy with the food. Don't believe bad reviews! NOT TRUE! James, the owner, personally greeted us. He was very sweet and personable during our entire visit in his restaurant. We like James's professionalism, efficiency and food! It was very cool learning that he actually has a perfect palate which makes perfect tasting dishes for his customers! While in college, James told us he worked as a server and instinctively knew when a plate wasn't right and had no qualms in telling the cooks before dropping the plate into his customers tables. He was always right! Example: when customers ordered medium rare and james knew it wasn't, the executive chef would look at it and tell him he's correct while telling line cook that meat was made wrong! Lol. We love James attention to detail and unwavering principle of serving higher quality food for his customers. We taste fresh ingredients first hand on our tongues and in our happy stomachs. Hamburger- 6.5 oz of good quality beef which was hand pressed and cooked to perfection. This juicy burger was one of the best we've ever eaten! Very moist ! Came with lettuce, pickle, onion and tomato. Choice of cheddar, American, Swiss, pepper jack cheese. Fries served with it too! $12.50 (5 stars) Tuna Salad- Salad greens mixed with fresh veggies, Parmesan cheese and a hella delicious hone made tuna salad mixed with just a touch of mayonnaise. Excellent service and food! We stopped in this little cafe on our way to The Grand Tetons. It's slightly off the main stretch but we'll worth the additional 2-3 minutes. We visited SmokeJumper Cafe twice this past week. First time after a very long day in Yellowstone. Dinner was delicious. The chef owner is great with food allergies. Our celiac/gluten allergy family members had the best GF fish and chips they've ever had (even beat out the fish and chips we had in Astoria, OR a few years ago). The truffle tots were a favorite. It's a one man run food truck so expect a wait. Trust me when I say "His food is worth the wait". We loved it so much that we rearranged our travel schedule so we could stop for a second time on our way to Bozeman, MT. Lunch on the second visit was delicious! In search for a great burger, this little gem is not on the beaten path in West Yellowstone. Hid away at the Yellowstone Airport, it doesn't look much from the outside, but what a great food experience. Not very busy when we got there, but a steady flow of willing to wait customers, as owner James was working alone (probably because of the Pandemic), a one man show. If you are patient, your tummy will be rewarded. James let us know up front so don't complain if the service isn't the best. You have been warned so don't write a bad review. The food makes up for it. Now to the burger. My test for a burger is always Mayo, lettuce, onions and cheese only. If the burger passes that juicy flavorful mouth watering taste, I know I'm having a great burger. Many uses the exact same ingredients, but it just doesn't taste the same. Jame's burger was right on, that juicy first bite right up to the last. An enjoyable roller coaster ride in your mouth. This little gem will always be on my food destination whenever in West Yellowstone. James' the "One Man Show" was very nice and awesome. read more

#update: Sir, I wrote my review last night not during lunch. As you can tell from the review it was about the service in its entirety. I pray that you find some anger management classes in that you are attacking your customers and their parenting abilities. I am a fantastic mother. My children are beautiful beings that excel in life. Excusing my 7 year old from the table to stand outside the door for two min in an empty tiny airport lounge until she stops yelling in the restaurant is called proper parenting. Using words such as abuse and swear words toward customers is completely wrong and in appropriate. No sir, you aren't right and you clearly aren't a kind person and don't kid yourself, the food is mediocre and there was only one other table in the restaurant. The private plane community is a small community and pilots talk. There are plenty of forums and you have been named. You have yourself a wonderful week and ai hope the best for you and your business. I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could. We landed in West Yellowstone to gas up and grab lunch. This restaurant is connected to the airport so we thought it would be a good place to grab lunch quick and go. When we walked in there was ONE table of people outside. We sat down and ordered food. We had a child acting up so in the middle, I had to discipline my child and had her stand outside the door until she stopped the behavior and came back in. In the mean time we ordered our food at 11:50am. Two burgers, a cheese quesadilla, and a chicken salad. No alcoholic drinks. The waitress was pleasant at first and took our order. We waited for quite some time and we started to wonder where are food was....at 12:23 we received one burger and a cheese quesadilla. The waitress said the kids could start. Great no problem, thinking our our salad and burger would follow right behind as it had been 33 minutes at that point. Another almost 10 minutes passed and my husband finally asked the waitress where the rest of the food was. She said it was coming. When my husband asked if that was normal, the waitress rudely responded, it is around here. (We are from a rural mountain town, not from a city. We have been to West Yellowstone before, the service was outstanding so this statement was rude and false.) Had the waitress just calmly and politely apologized for the food taking so long, we would have been annoyed but not upset by the response and service. The food finally came out, the fries were cold. We quickly ate and despite the terrible service and and long wait for food, still tipped 10% (as a former server and bartender, this wasn't really deserved but we still tried to be accommodating). We went on our way only to be battered and called names by the owner who I'm guessing was also the cook. We don't know the owner, but he had the gall to attack my husband unwarranted when all we wanted was to have a simple lunch and be on our way. Common courtesy and customer service go a long way. People make mistakes but being attacked unprovoked is unacceptable and unprofessional. As business owners and pilots, we know about great customer service and this was lacking. I would recommend not spending money at this restaurant until the attitude and service improve. read more

From Early July - We came in middle of the day with a 6 adults and 2 small children. The owner/cook was buy himself, and was honest that he would do his best to accommodate us but food may come out at different times as he didn't want it to get cold. He had gluten free breading for some fried meals, this was Ideal as my wife has some food allergies. He did a great job with the food and everything actually came out around the same time. Food was good and we spoke with the cook/owner in some polite conversation. We came here as I used yelp to help point us tourist to a restaurant with good reviews. We had masks when we walked in but took them off when we sat down, like the only other people that were there. We were in our private plane flying cross country with 2 friends and the owner was the rudest we ever encountered! Maybe it was all the death metal blaring in the kitchen that had him running after us yelling in a RAGE as we walked out. The person who owns this place needs a personality/mode check, rude is an understatement. I understand that it's a one man shop but that does not mean you can speak to potential customers who are going to spend money to eat YOUR food in such a negative way. I went in there and waited to be seated, after some minutes passed, I rang the bell as it suggests to do. The person I was with decided to sit down since obviously no one else was waiting but us. The gentleman came out and I politely asked if we could sit there? (I was still standing). In front of the entire room he says to me "ITS TOO LATE FOR THAT NOW RIGHT?" It's like he didn't want us there and decided to simply embarrass us. After that I sat in the lobby of the airport and saw a few folks walk in and sat down with no problem. This place is awesome and worth the trip slightly out of the main town of West Yellowstone. We showed up just past 11 am looking for breakfast and they were willing to accommodate us for breakfast fare even though their menu changes at 11 am. The outdoor seating was great - limited shade but it was nice to have the option and the views of the surrounding area was great. The food was incredible - they made our little guy bear-shaped pancakes and an awesome fruit salad with whipped cream! Our corned beef hash and eggs, and 2 egg platter with bacon were amazing - they clearly take pride in their food! The prices were also very reasonable! read more
