I walked up from the center of Florence all the way to La loggia. My caprese salad was pretty bland but it's off season so I should know better. However the view and setting make it a four star. Worth the stop.

Magnificent! I had no idea how special this place would be, until I actually experienced it! Originally we had wanted to visit the area because of the Michelangelo steps. By the way, there are steps everywhere, but depending on where you're standing, the views of Florence are spectacular. This probably is one of the most romantic places ever. In fact, a small wedding was taking place overlooking the city. La Loggia just adds to everything. It literally is not only the only, but the most perfect dining spot ever. I highly recommend dining outdoors. Despite the fact that everyone seems to smoke, which is bothersome to me, the outdoor seating really is perfect. The menu is wonderfully extensive, and the food that they offer for their outdoor seating versus the indoor seating is definitely different. I would highly recommend dining indoors if you are having dinner, but as I said, brunch or lunch definitely is an outdoor experience. Two words... French fries. Their french fries are perfectly crispy, tender inside, and perfectly salted. As silly as it sounds, I could've eaten just french fries, and been thrilled. The cheeseburger was absolutely to die for. Cooked perfectly, it was pink inside, juicy, and perfectly grilled. Then they use some sort of cheese spread on the bun and burger, which just added a lovely layer of flavor to each bite. The wait staff is a mix of super nice and helpful, to totally disengaged for most customers. Don't let that discourage you. This is truly a lovely place to dine and taken the sites. Definitely walk the steps, take pictures by the fountain and the statues that are across the walkway, and you will have without a doubt lovely memories. The restrooms are rather interesting, they're located inside the restaurant, which has artwork that you normally would not find in most dining establishments. You more than likely will have the Michelangelo steps on your list, and you definitely should add this restaurant to your must try dining list!

Perfect view from this restaurant. There's outdoor, bistro style and the indoor, dinner arrangement. Not much of a wait on a Thursday. Linguine all'astice (linguini with lobster) was super tasty. And it was a very good size. I'd definitely recommend this spot.

Beautiful view. We had a great seat. Not so great service. My advice - go for a few drinks. Skip the food.

This was one of many amazing pastas I had on my trip to Italy. Amazing red sauce for the pasta. Idk how they hand make their pasta but whatever they're doing is great, leaves you feeling full but not heavy. Can never go wrong with fried shrimp and they nailed it on the tomato/habenero dipping sauce. Perfect spicy balance. Overall, a pricey meal that was worth it considering the taste and views. We sat outside for our lunch, amazing view of the Piazzale Michelangelo since the restaurant is at the top. Would definitely go again.

Our food was delicious, however, we left this restaurant feeling neglected. There were 4 in our party. We arrived very worn out from a long day. Our Airbnb did not have hot water and we had a crazy time trying to find another place to stay. We were looking forward to a delicious meal with a beautiful view. 1. When I asked the hostess for a table for 4, she said "maybe you would prefer burgers and fries in the Bistro". I said, "no we prefer pasta" she sighed with frustration and went to chat with another employee to find us a table. 2. We were seated at the worst table in the outside area of the restaurant. Right next to the work station. We asked to be seated at another open table and we were told "this us not possible because of reservations ". We looked at that empty table in a better location for the entire time if our meal. No one ever came to sit there. 3. We orders our drinks and meals, the service during this time was good, but once the food came our server did not come back. No one asked if we needed anything more, finally we called another server over and asked if we could order dessert. He took our order for one cannoli, one serving of gelato and 2 after dinner drinks. We waited at least 35 minutes for this dessert. No one returned during that time to see if we wanted water or another beer or anything at all. We just sat at the table waiting for any attention. 4. We never saw the original server again. We paid our bill of $199 euros and left. Such a huge disappointment. This place had so much potential for a great night, but the service ruined it for us.

The food here is beyond our expectation since it locates at a tourist place. The pizza is so good that the crust is so crispy and simple tomato and cheese is so tasty. Plus the amazing view of the dome, we will definitely come again!

This restaurant has a perfect view of Piazzale Michaelangelo and is just a 2 min walk away. The food was just ok though and service was only ok too. The hostess was actually very rude when we first walked but the rest of the staff was friendly enough. The main duck dish was chewy which was unfortunate and the duck pasta was not very flavorful either. The beef cheek entree that my husband has though was very good. The bread in the basket was pretty tough and almost tasted stale. Given the location though the pricing was ok and the view made it worth going here.

This place is a bit overhyped, to be honest. The waitstaff is inattentive and there aren't too many places to sit. We didn't get a spot with a view, so we could've been anywhere really. The drinks are also expensive and not really worth it.

The view and Ambiance of this restaurant are unmatched to any in Florence. The view on top of the Piazzale Michelangelo was amazing with outdoor seating provided. I went near sunset to enjoy the amazing steak and wine provided. The service was exceptional too having a nice staff provided recommendations on the menu and wine pairing with the food. Amazing place woul recommend to anyone in the area.

Amazing atmosphere. Nothing like it in Florence. Food was okay- very pricey. Expected a better meal but you're paying for the view.

Way overpriced for the experience. I suggest going up and take pictures of the view but pick a different restaurant.

Happy to say this place is still just as amazing as I remember it almost 10 years ago!…read more A couple of girlfriends and I discovered Pensavo Peggio during our first trip to Italy in 2017, and it quickly became one of the reasons Florence became one of my favorite cities. Back then, I ordered the Osso Buco, Lasagna, and Tiramisu--and I still remembered how incredible everything was. So, of course, when I returned nearly 10 years later, I had to order the same meals... and yes, I said meals! Fabrizio, the same server who took care of me in 2017, asked, "Are you sure you want two dinners?" I told him, "Yes! I want to try them both." Fast-forward to 2026: I walked back in two days ago, reminded Fabrizio of our conversation, and told him I was ordering both again. He immediately started laughing. Some things never change! My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle and instantly fell in love with it. We also shared a delicious cheese and meat platter and, of course, finished with Tiramisu. Nearly 10 years later, Pensavo Peggio still holds a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this cute little spot! It just goes to show that sometimes the best memories--and the best meals--are found when you venture off the beaten path. Some places are simply worth coming back to.

It is very cool to see the different meat hanging from the ceiling in addition to the wine bottles and the cool ambience that they created in the small location. There are a handful of seats available and then there's even a back room with a few more tables to accommodate a few more people. From a price point perspective, it wasn't too bad, especially if you're swinging in for a snack and a quick glass of wine or a beer.
