Meat lovers with arugula on half
    Tim G.

First of all I want to commend the service staff. Friendly goes a long way these days and the staff here were great! We ordered the meat lovers with arugula on half and overall it was good pizza. The toppings were fresh and the crust had just the right level of "char" without tasting like a piece of coal. Ingredients were fresh and tasty. The only thing I took a star for is the sauce was a little on the watery/light side. That is not to say it was bad... it just wasn't my favorite. The football concept is pretty cool and LaLucciola's is a great place to try.

No signage outside, one of many small restaurants in this "food hall"

Solid spot for thin crust Neapolitan pizza! Pizzas are small personal size and made to order. They have an authentic pizza oven. I ordered the meat lovers pizza and it was delicious! Hard to find restaurant as there is no sign outside and you have to come inside to find it. Seating is not too comfortable and there is no restaurant parking. I ended up parking at Wells Fargo bank, 3 blocks away and walked. You order at the counter and they bring you your pizza when it is ready. There are only a few pizza options and a couple salads. For drinks they have a tiny mini fridge with cans of soda (no diet options) or bottled water. Pizza was good but other issues listed above lowered the rating for me.

I've told myself to try each restaurant location at Fork Forty so it was La Lucciola's turn this time around. I got myself and arugula salad and a personal pizza. I was probably much more impressed with the size of the salad versus the pizza itself. I just want to be clear, there was nothing wrong with the pizza, just wasn't necessarily my style! Substitutions were easy to make and looks like a lot of vegetarian options, too. Thin crust with a light amount of sauce plus there were lots of toppings that were perfectly spread out on the pie itself. Would still come back, maybe I'll look at the menu harder to see if they have any thicker crust/Neapolitan-style options.

Absolutely the Pest and most Authentic Pizzeria in town. The Owner is a really nice guy with a passion for Italian Cuisine. The following are pictures from the best. Thank you La Lucciola for the most authentic taste of Italy in town.

Celiac / GF Review: Great service and friendly atmosphere. When we mentioned a gluten allergy, they…read moreasked if it was celiac to limit cross contamination as much as possible. We appreciate that! Pizzas were amazing ! The GF crust was airy and thick Sicilian style. We always appreciate GF pies that are not your typical cauliflower crust cardboard type. Bonus for non-GF folks, there is a brewery right next door, although they also serve seltzers. I would put this GF pizza right up there with Blue Pan Pizza's GF Detroit style in Denver/Golden, CO, Belladina's Pizzeria GF Sicilian style in Greenville, South Carolina and Tony's GF Sicilian and Detroit styles in San Francisco! After a long drive and getting settled in to the hotel we decided to go get some grub. Pizza was the consensus. We walked from our hotel to New York Squares. When we walked in we were immediately greeted. The first thing I noticed were the NY Giants pictures on the wall. Pretty cool. The atmosphere was pretty nice. You feel like you're inside a pizzeria in Brooklyn. We ordered the The Grandma and a Pepperoni. The pizza was crispy around the edges, but soft in the middle. For everyone but me the grandma was the favorite. I personally loved the pepperoni. The pizza was overall good, not my all-time favorite, but a solid 4 out of 5. The owner was awesome and the atmosphere was great too. When we're back in Independence (we love Independence) we'll definitely be back for another pie or two.

Our favorites were the Mediterranean white sauced pizza (that we decided to get in place of a vegan pizza) and the Little Italy with white sauce. Went to Pietros today, like my family and I have for years. We have always had little to no bad…read moreservice or poor quality. Today we debated to go to MOD or Pietros and chose Pietros for the good food and ambiance. We ordered our food which were 3 individual pizzas ( mini pizzas of 4 slices ) with some challenge and confusion for the lady taking our order but it was fine. When we ordered we were not told about any waiting time so we continued to take our seats and wait. We did not get our pizzas until ONE HOUR later. After that long wait we no longer even wanted to eat, we only stayed because we payed. I am very disappointed in the wait. It would have been some kind of understandable if we were told there would be a 30-45 minute wait but no that was not the case. We left wishing we went to MOD instead.
