Not only did we luck out by having a great pastry shop right in Dedham Square, but Rachel and Elias were so awesome to work with. We pretty much tell everyone to go to La Luce. Also the ham and cheese croissants are so good! We got 3 cakes the night of our rehearsal dinner and all of the guests loved them. This is a fantastic little gem in Dedham! We have always loved the warm and delicious blueberry muffins on Saturday mornings, right out of the oven. But I am writing this review based on the pink butter Valentine's Day cookies I ordered through a fundraiser at my son's school. These cookie were absolutely unreal - so delicious, baked perfectly with so much flavor. I only wish I had ordered more. Now here's the best part: La Luce is donating a portion of the proceeds back to my son's school's PTO. Kudos to the owners for supporting local education and also for making these amazing cookies! read more

I was called for jury duty and a colleague recommended La Luce for lunch since it is just down the block from the Court House. I'm glad I followed her recommendation! La Luce offers savory crepes for lunch. I had the ham and gruyere cheese crepe. The crepe was freshly made. I was outstanding. It is also quite large (12 inches in diameter) so it was filling. I stopped in this lovely little shop on my way home from work for a few treats. I got 3 cupcakes (chocolate, carrot, and toffee), all were super moist and the frosting was excellent!! Not gonna lie, I ate 2 out of the 3 before I got home...I forgot the name of it, but I also got a little shortbread cookie that has some sort of fruit in the middle, so sooooo good. I love this bakery. I visited La Luce with my wife one morning thinking of having a coffee and bagel across the street. When we saw this gem we could not resist buying half the pastries in the display. The husband and wife owners are super. The espresso and the cappuccinos were great! Found this place on Yelp when I was looking for somewhere to get dessert near Legacy Place; I'm not usually in Dedham so I'm not familiar with the area. I'm so glad we came in! Elias, the owner, is very friendly and helpful and said that they will pretty much make anything you want if you bring in a picture and a recipe/ingredients you want. The shop has all of the traditional desserts you'd think of as well as cannolis and lots of Lebanese dessert items. He also has several local Lebanese shop owners in the Salem, NH/Methuen, MA area who buy desserts from him regularly so if you're looking for a specialty item and don't want to trek to Dedham you can call him to put in an order and see who in your area could bring it up for you. We came here with my family and tried: raspberry tart, Key Lime pie, Princess Helena cake, everything bar, cheesecake bite, knefe, and znoud el sit. They were all delicious! We especially loved the everything bar and the cheesecake bite. Both were rich and baked perfectly. so glad to see the other enthusiastic reviews because i am rooting for this little store...the crepes are delicious and the owners are charming although the other pastries i have had were more gooey than flavorful. The decor doesn't seem to match the food, however, and i think they would do well to step it up a notch, maybe make it more colorful and stylish so that it feels like a place you want to linger and return to, rather than just in and out.
