    Brookie Ice Cream
    Francisco P.

I stumbled upon Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream after a wine tasting and it did not disappoint! I went with the Brookie (brownie + cookie dough). It was both sweet and perfectly indulgent, exactly what you want from a late-night ice cream run. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. My only regret is that I had already snacked way too much before arriving, otherwise I definitely would've gone for a larger cup with more scoops. I'll have to come back to try some other flavors!

I'd just like to start off that if I was writing this review years ago I'd be giving Rons Gourmet Ice cream 5 stars. Sadly, our recent visit was underwhelming. To start, cleanliness is something they truly need to have their employees focus on. For a food establishment this was sad to see. While the flavor of my brownie sundae was enjoyable, I was disappointed to see that my portion was noticeably smaller from what I've received in the past. Additionally, the brownie appeared to have been taken out of the freezer and reheated in the microwave, which affected the overall quality. As far as the rest of my groups ice cream, it was good. Nothing spectacular but no complaints. Staff was friendly, it was pretty busy and it looked as if they were training a staff member as well. If I could I would give 3 1/3 stars vs just 3.

I had a great experience at Ron's Gourmet Ice Cream in Dedham! The ice cream was delicious, but what really stood out was the customer service. The employee who helped me, I believe his name was Chris, was incredibly kind and welcoming. He was patient, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about making sure customers had a good experience. It's not often you come across someone who is such a genuinely good person, and his positive attitude made my visit even better. I'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Ron's to anyone looking for great ice cream and even better service!

Nice place in downtown Dedham with a good selection of flavors and a good atmosphere inside. My son and I enjoyed our ice cream and would come back.

    Frozen pudding & strawberry (regular)

I came on a hot weekday afternoon and got a regular frozen pudding and strawberry in a cup. I'm not sure what I expected from the frozen pudding, but I wasn't a fan of it. It was kind of a custard with different pieces of fruit in it. On the other hand, the strawberry was pretty good, creamy, and flavorful. It's a small place, but it was bustling with orders online and a few other walk-ins while we sat to eat our ice cream. The workers are young, kind, and hard-working picking up each tub to scoop your ice cream. There are plenty of flavors to get, so if you're in the area and are craving ice cream Ron's is worth a try.

Very positive experience. The place was clean, and there were 4 individuals there ready to help. Kuddos to the young gentleman who was patient with me as I tried to nativigate their flavors and decide which coffee variation I wanted. I settled on Irish coffee, which was full of flavor and creamy. IBeing offered a sample sealed it for me as a number of shops no longer let you have a sample, which can mean you wind up ordering something that does not align with your palette

No complaints. Was trying to post a review at a different ice cream shop in Westwood. Will try this place next time!

P. Licks scattered around Metro Boston, so if you live out here the odds are excellent you've been to one and know what they sell. But if you live outside of Boston (like I do) the odds are pretty good you're not familiar with them, as I was not. So, here's a word of advice, if you have plans on visiting one for the first time, you really ought to do yourself a favor and scrutinize their menu before you visit. Otherwise, you'll be gawking at their incredible menu board for half an hour. You'll have to whittle down your selection between hard and soft ice creams, hard and soft yogurts, frappes, smoothies, sundaes, splits, ice cream cakes and pies and sandwiches and cupcakes, a coffee bar and a bakery with scones, coffee cake, muffins, cookies, pop tarts, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, bagels, croissants, and more. Everything is listed on a long menu board that spans the full-size ordering counter, so it's not very easy to see everything unless you strut the length of the counter, so that's why I suggest a little reconnaissance. Our grand kiddies wanted hot chocolates, so we got them a small ($3.75) and a medium ($4.25). They drank them up, but I did mooch one sip and loved it - deep chocolate flavor and not overpoweringly sweet. My wife and I returned to our Bronx roots and shared a chocolate egg cream ($5.90) and it was as good as I remember getting at our soda shop under the elevated D Train subway tracks on Jerome Avenue. Just a perfect blend of carbonated chocolate milk. Quite a wonderful flashback.

There was just a short line when we got there, which gave us time to review their many flavors options. There was just line move quick and before we knew it we were at the front and the pressure was on. As a big fan of Oreos/cookies and creams I was intrigued by the multiple flavors of cookies and cream that started with a different base than the typical vanilla ice cream. I went with the salted caramel cookies and creams, and was glad I did. Absolutely delicious! There is some inside seating but not much. It seems most take theirs to roam and shop at other stores. Overall, it was a tasty visit, with some unique flavors, friendly staff even in the hectic atmosphere. Pricing was a bit, I'm sure due to their rent, but with 5 other cookies and cream variations, I'll definitely be stopping in next time I'm in the area again!

We walked into a fun, nostalgic space with a large menu board packed with flavors, toppings, sundaes, frappes, and specialty desserts. The shop has a welcoming, family-friendly energy with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the bright, cheerful interior adds to the classic ice cream parlor feel. The steady flow of customers reflected its popularity as a local favorite, and the lively atmosphere made it a pleasant place to stop for a sweet treat. We stopped by for a milkshake, and it was thick, creamy, and made with real ice cream. The flavor was rich without being overly sweet, and the consistency was exactly what you look for in a good milkshake. The shake stayed thick throughout, never becoming watery, and the flavor held up well from the first sip to the last. The portions are generous, and there are plenty of flavor combinations to customize your order, with options ranging from classic chocolate and vanilla to more creative seasonal flavors. Even with a steady flow of customers, the staff kept things moving efficiently and were friendly throughout our visit, handling the line with speed and a welcoming demeanor. The large selection can take a minute to look through, but it is part of what makes this place stand out, giving you the chance to explore different combinations on each visit. Daddy's Dairy is a great spot for dessert, whether you are stopping in for a quick milkshake or planning to explore their huge variety of ice cream flavors. The quality of the ice cream, generous portions, and welcoming atmosphere make it easy to see why it is a local favorite, offering a classic dessert experience that feels both nostalgic and satisfying.
