Haven't been here in a while and got the surprise of my day. Not only was our reservation seated at the exact time and service began with a wonderful server, Pedro who made our visit exceptionally comfortable. We asked to split the salad and they delivered it to the table in two separate plates, which was very thoughtful. The fettuccine carbonara loaded with peas and crispy. Pancetta was creamy and delicious. The space is open and airy and felt very comfortable and not packed like sardines.

We went to Quattro's to celebrate three birthdays and my cousin treated us all three of us ordered the Zuppe Di Pesce. We went early around noon and we hit the timing great there was no one there but after we started eating the people were coming in. We were served garlic knots with pesto and I am not fond of calamari so I asked if anyone wanted mine they said yes but honestly everything but the calamari was delicious. The calamari was quite rubbery. The clams mussels scallops and shrimp were delicious. It would be nice if they served a small salad with the meal. The wait staff were very nice and efficient noticing if our waters needed to be replenished.

There was a side room for our large group of 12 diners. Group had several children which were accommodated with a kids menu upon request. I can't remember all the specials after they rattle them off, but I recall them sounding great. My meal was delicious and the salad looked great. I think this restaurant is perfect for older clientele out to have a good time and listen to some tunes on an easy Sunday sans the kiddos. Pretty standard dishes that taste good. Good: -Chicken Fiorentina -Hamburger & Fries -Live music on Sunday (early afternoon) Bad: -For a large party, when our waiter was busy, you had to wait to catch another staff member -There were several children in our group, water refills could've been faster but we got them eventually

Classy, bustling spot downtown with the best HH in town! Excellent staff and amazing compliments to the chef(s). The crew at Quattros does a superb job and the food is absolutely excellent!

Not our first time here but it had been a while. We met another couple. Arrived on time. Had our choice of low tables in the back room. It felt good to get inside and away from the humidity. Service was professional, helpful, responsive, and pretty quick in that they kept pace with us even as the dining room filled up. Food was excellent. We had the scallops and the striped bass special. The crème brûlée was also delicious. Highly recommended!

We walked in and immediately saw some flies flying around. Decided to ignore them it happens right? Sat down, and then waited roughly 20 minutes for drinks when the place was empty...almost left but again decided to wait things happen right? I ordered the zuppa di pesce the other person at my table ordered the seafood risotto. Waited again for awhile was then brought hard/stale tasting garlic knots....when the food came I immediately noticed the zuppa had an off taste...figured it was just a bad recipe but was hungry so I began to eat it. I started noticing the mussels were mushy and tasted bad. I mentioned something to our waitress she said she would say something. Nobody came back! Somebody else came over I said something again, still nobody came out, no manager, not the owner, nobody. I got my bill at the end and I said to yet another staff member, didn't anyone tell the chef or the owner about the food tasting spoiled, she gave me an attitude and then said well the chef said his food is just fine and then snubbed her nose at me.....also want to point out that mussels aren't supposed to be mushy and taste spoiled...and the other dish we had wasn't spoiled but definitely wasn't the best tasting. I will never eat here again and hopefully I don't end up sick

Penne Alla Vodka never disappoints. Full comfort in a plate

Full transparency: I live in Guilford and my family goes there for most celebrations. I do, however, hold my breath everytime I go there because I want it to be as good as the last time. Last night, we were not disappointed. We showed up at 5pm, and the bar was packed (this is the place to go for appetizers during happy hour). We gladly sat in dining room and were only ones there until about 5:45 (by the time we finished our meal the dining room was packed). Note to self, continue to go early. The staff is very attentive, even noticing when we needed more water. We started out with complimentary garlic nots with a garlic pesto sauce I swear I could drink it's so delicious. We split a Guilford Greens salad and I wondered why don't I ever make salads with micro greens and fruit like raspberries, blackberries, mandarin oranges and strawberries but then I recalled I could never keep those items this fresh. My penne alla vodka was ordered because i had a week and needed comfort...this did not disappoint and the serving was so large I have lunch the next day (or maybe breakfast because I'm not going to lie...this is good cold too). My spouse got the Chicken Quattro and I tried the veggies (not a chicken person) and they were phenomenal in a light savory sauce with a pinch of heat. My spouse said the chicken was flavorful, moist and nicely tenderized. So if you are considering Quattros, I say yes go. If you have a chance to get there during happy hour you can order in bar off the tapas menu with discounted drinks. If you get there Monday - Thursday I saw they had a price fix menu but you have to get there between 4-6 (I'll be trying that next!) Enjoy!

While I can't speak for everyone else's experience, I can speak to my own, and I was extremely disappointed with the level of service we received. especially regarding food allergies and the zero percent effort put into finding additional information from the kitchen. When looking over the menu, I asked our waiter whether the pesto contained pine nuts because I have a tree nut allergy. He responded in an annoyed tone that he didn't know and simply told me not to order it. He didn't offer to ask the kitchen or try to find the answer, which was especially surprising considering he had just asked if anyone had questions about the menu. Since I still wanted to know if the pesto was safe, I walked up to the host stand where three employees were standing. I asked the same question, and one of the women immediately replied, "No, of course not. There are no nuts in pesto." When I asked if she was sure, she confidently said they never make it with nuts. It was clear from her reaction that she wasn't actually certain.... she simply wasn't familiar with the fact that traditional pesto often contains pine nuts. (Which is fine if you don't know but please, please ask instead of assuming!) At that point I mentioned to everyone that I carry an EpiPen because I have an allergy. Only then did she say, "Actually, let me ask the kitchen." She returned a moment later and informed me that yes, the pesto did in fact contain pine nuts. Food allergies are NOT preferences they can be life-threatening. It's alarming that staff members were willing to answer so confidently without actually verifying the information first or further more to not even have a care in the world to ask for me and told me to order something else? I hope Cafe Fiore takes this as an opportunity to better educate staff on food allergies and the importance of checking with the kitchen whenever there is any uncertainty. Instead of answering blindly. A simple question about ingredients should never be treated as an inconvenience, and guests should be able to trust that the information they're given is accurate when their health depends on it. It is not a big ask. Simply go ask the kitchen. Overall the food was just okay, the inside however seemed clean and well taken care of but I will not be returning. No meal is worth wondering whether the information you're being given is accurate. When a guest asks about an allergen, the only acceptable answer is one that has been verified with the kitchen.... not a guess. Someone else's life could depend on it.

I had countless delicious meals over the years here with my parents and grandparents. While here in Connecticut Bruce and I decided to dine here this evening. We like to dine out often and love the variety of options here in Connecticut. We had high hopes for Cafe Allegre. What a miserable experience and a total rip off. We opted not to have any alcohol and instead had two hot teas. We ordered the artichokes for a starter. A scattering of over fried dry lumps, no sauce with a minuscule piece of parsley and a small piece of shaved carrot. Bruce and I ordered the Ceasar salad with a double portion of chicken. Although the waitress said the salad was entree size portions, the amount of salad, tasteless rubbery chicken all served on a small luncheon size plate was shameful. $12.99 for the salad and $8.99 for a half a bite of extra chicken! I had the waitress remove my meal and she took it off our tab. I was expecting her to bring something else out or give me a menu but she never bothered. Evidently she thought I said I didn't want anything else. By the time she returned, Bruce had finished his salad. Really? The waitress thought I was fine just sitting there with no dinner? Needless to say her tip was equivalent to the service. So for $66.51, with no alcohol and no dessert, just one luncheon size salad, this was a supreme rip off. When a dish is returned to the kitchen the manager should have gotten off his ass to come over and address the problem and to see how to rectify the experience. Nothing. I left hungry and angry. Rest assured a scathing review will be left on Yelp along with my phoning the owner to voice my displeasure. Now perhaps this post comes across as my being an arrogant demanding patron. Bruce and I have had some amazing dinners and also some less than wonderful. I always try to cut the restaurant some slack. Food services is not an easy job. But when you charge these prices it's important that they know when customers are displeased.
