Haven't been here in a while and got the surprise of my day. Not only was our reservation seated at the exact time and service began with a wonderful server, Pedro who made our visit exceptionally comfortable. We asked to split the salad and they delivered it to the table in two separate plates, which was very thoughtful. The fettuccine carbonara loaded with peas and crispy. We went to Quattro's to celebrate three birthdays and my cousin treated us all three of us ordered the Zuppe Di Pesce. We went early around noon and we hit the timing great there was no one there but after we started eating the people were coming in. We were served garlic knots with pesto and I am not fond of calamari so I asked if anyone wanted mine they said yes but honestly everything but the calamari was delicious. The calamari was quite rubbery. The clams mussels scallops and shrimp were delicious. It would be nice if they served a small salad with the meal. The wait staff were very nice and efficient noticing if our waters needed to be replenished. read more

There are many 1 star reviews but I have a hard time figuring out why. Maybe I only go on good nights. This is my third time eating at Quattro's. The first 2 times were very good but tonight was exceptional. We showed up for an early dinner without a reservation. We were promptly seated. Less than 5 minutes later our waiter, Pedro, came to our table. I have a really hard time dining out with my daughter, she's 40 years old and autistic. She has trouble sometimes with portion size and she usually orders off the children's menu. When I explained that to Pedro he was more than accommodating. We ordered a house salad and penne with red sauce for my daughter. For myself and my mother we ordered the vegetable risotto, arancini, jamon y queso, papas arrabiatas, and the lamb chops all off the tapas menu. The only thing I was disappointed in was the arancini, they were covered in a very delicious sauce but they lost their crispiness. The sauce for the lamb chops was so good I would have lapped it up with a spoon if I had one. The building is an old Odd Fellows Hall and the space is beautiful and really charming. There was a side room for our large group of 12 diners. Group had several children which were accommodated with a kids menu upon request. I can't remember all the specials after they rattle them off, but I recall them sounding great. My meal was delicious and the salad looked great. I think this restaurant is perfect for older clientele out to have a good time and listen to some tunes on an easy Sunday sans the kiddos. Pretty standard dishes that taste good. Completely unprofessional. Booked an event with deposit in December for an even in April. Received a call mid March, 1 month to the day of our event, stating the room got "double booked". Really??? It took 2 1/2 months to realized this? Invitations were printed and out, rsvps already coming in. Asked to speak to owner and "he was out of the country", really? Unapologetic. Ridiculous. Never will step foot in there again. All of our 50 guests are aware of what they did. Most of them local. Spread the word. Not good business and can not be trusted. Place was bustling on a Monday evening, we were seated immediately with no reservation. Our waitress had let us know she's normally a bartender but was covering someone's shift that night. She did great and was very friendly. We started off with the bruschetta which was just okay. I had the guilford greens salad with hanger steak for my meal and it was delicious! Perfectly sized portion and the steak was cooked correctly. Enjoyed the chocolate soufflé for dessert. Not our first time here but it had been a while. We met another couple. Arrived on time. Had our choice of low tables in the back room. It felt good to get inside and away from the humidity. Service was professional, helpful, responsive, and pretty quick in that they kept pace with us even as the dining room filled up. Food was excellent. We had the scallops and the striped bass special. This was very delicious. We originally planned another spot that appeared to have closed permanently, and I'm so glad for that. We got here around 5:30 and had zero problem getting a table. We enjoyed the stuffed artichokes and bruschetta and highly recommend both. I got a salad, which is probably the only thing I don't recommend for the price. It wasn't worth it. But the apps and the main dishes were both delicious and gone pretty quickly! The service was honestly a bit slow, so we ended up skipping dessert because of that. We walked in and immediately saw some flies flying around. Decided to ignore them it happens right? Sat down, and then waited roughly 20 minutes for drinks when the place was empty...almost left but again decided to wait things happen right? I ordered the zuppa di pesce the other person at my table ordered the seafood risotto. Waited again for awhile was then brought hard/stale tasting garlic knots....when the food came I immediately noticed the zuppa had an off taste...figured it was just a bad recipe but was hungry so I began to eat it. I started noticing the mussels were mushy and tasted bad. I mentioned something to our waitress she said she would say something. Nobody came back! Somebody else came over I said something again, still nobody came out, no manager, not the owner, nobody. I got my bill at the end and I said to yet another staff member, didn't anyone tell the chef or the owner about the food tasting spoiled, she gave me an attitude and then said well the chef said his food is just fine and then snubbed her nose at me.....also want to point out that mussels aren't supposed to be mushy and taste spoiled...and the other dish we had wasn't spoiled but definitely wasn't the best tasting. The server told us the drink specials, a martini and special Chianti which Bill loves so he ordered that When the bill came and his wine was $23.00 a glass I was horrified. Full transparency: I live in Guilford and my family goes there for most celebrations. I do, however, hold my breath everytime I go there because I want it to be as good as the last time. Last night, we were not disappointed. We showed up at 5pm, and the bar was packed (this is the place to go for appetizers during happy hour). We gladly sat in dining room and were only ones there until about 5:45 (by the time we finished our meal the dining room was packed). Note to self, continue to go early. The staff is very attentive, even noticing when we needed more water. We started out with complimentary garlic nots with a garlic pesto sauce I swear I could drink it's so delicious. We split a Guilford Greens salad and I wondered why don't I ever make salads with micro greens and fruit like raspberries, blackberries, mandarin oranges and strawberries but then I recalled I could never keep those items this fresh. My penne alla vodka was ordered because i had a week and needed comfort...this did not disappoint and the serving was so large I have lunch the next day (or maybe breakfast because I'm not going to lie...this is good cold too). My spouse got the Chicken Quattro and I tried the veggies (not a chicken person) and they were phenomenal in a light savory sauce with a pinch of heat. My spouse said the chicken was flavorful, moist and nicely tenderized. So if you are considering Quattros, I say yes go. If you have a chance to get there during happy hour you can order in bar off the tapas menu with discounted drinks. If you get there Monday - Thursday I saw they had a price fix menu but you have to get there between 4-6 (I'll be trying that next!) Enjoy! read more

Leslie needs a course on customer service and how to drop the nasty attitude. Anyone should be able to nicely inquire when they have a question, but she was spitting venom at my parents, who are super nice people, BTW. Other businesses in the area who know them well would say the same. The sharp attitude began right when we were ordering, and she was writing on what looked like a piece of scrap paper. She even insulted other waitstaff in front of us. It's totally inappropriate. We all had a fun attitude and were good spirited because it was a celebration. This killed the vibe, and we couldn't wait to bail and head over to Marketplace instead. Some of the food was cold, I am assuming they were waiting to bring everything out at once? The atmosphere is beautiful. The building is gorgeous. The bar looks warm and inviting.We ordered clams casino for an appetizer, they were burnt. I ordered the carbonara, it was good, not great, very under seasoned. lobster ravioli was good not great. The hangar steak with wild mushrooms. The mushrooms were not wild, they were just white button mushrooms. The steak was completely in edible. It couldn't be cut with the steak knife! and was raw in the middle. it was ordered medium rare. It was so bad that I had to ask them to remove it from the bill! I was surprised that a manager did not come to our table to speak to us. Needless to say we won't be back. read more

I brought my son out for a celebratory dinner for his first job and what a huge disappointment! It took them 20 minutes to come to our table to give us waters and we ate an hour and five minutes after we sat down. The two middle-aged ladies, next to us were cursing every other word in their conversation, and the hostess just sat there and accepted it. I came here for my grandmothers 75th birthday party. The one guy that served us was really nice and helpful. He replaced my wine when there was a fly floating in it. The woman must not know how to deal with conflict because it was taking them a long time to serve our actual meal and she got very snippy with both of my grandparents. The tall guy mixed up two of the dishes and she made a degrading joke against him. My tuna wrap and fries were delicious, so we're the stuffed mushrooms. Some of the dishes weren't hot anymore, I think they had food sitting on warmers as to try get them all out at once but they should have just started serving the meals that were done. We've been there twice now with a party of four and it's now one of our fave's on the CT shoreline. Both times we arrived at 5PM...intending to find parking & beat the dinner rush. By 5:30, both become issues...this place is hopping! Conversation at the table was a little challenging, given the crowd. The staff is very attentive/professional and food was very good. We sat down at 12:30pm and left just before 3pm. The service was extremely slow and after the appetizers came out we waited an hour for our food. Except for me, I waited an hour and 10 minutes because somehow my salad with seared scallops wasn't ready. It eventually arrived, with no dressing and raw scallops. The waitress, who otherwise ignored our table, seemed surprised that I wanted more dressing. No, I wanted *some* dressing, which when it arrived was not really good at all. Others in our party enjoyed their meals so I guess it's hit or miss here. Unfortunately we weren't able to address the poor service by adjusting the tip because a 20% gratuity is included. read more

I ordered take out and had the Rigatoni Bolognese and the bruschetta, both were delicious. I especially loved the little amount of cheese melted on top of the bruschetta and how it helped the bits of tomato and onion from falling off the bread when you bit into it, brilliant! Four of us dined this past Tuesday early- 5pm but the place was still getting busy. Nice prompt greeting, a server who knew how to be attentive without being over bearing, graet temperature, and some delicious cocktails and an iced cold Peroni draft life is good and we are off and running! Light garlic knots, one of the top 5 crab cakes I have ever had, and a lovely roasted eggplant appetizer began our great experience. Perfectly timed our entrees arrived- clams and linguini, chicken milanese (like butter- delicious), mahi mahi with lobster special, veal sorrento, and zuppa di clams- all amazing, tender, full of flavor. Went for a date night with my husband on a Saturday night... the place was nice and busy which was great to see and added to the atmosphere. We sat in the bar area and ordered a a bunch of tapas to share off the bar menu. Not sure if the is menu is available in the whole restaurant or just the bar area. We had the mussels which were delicious, scallops- cooked perfectly, coconut shrimp, lobster ravioli- my husband was a bigger fan than I was, and the tapa filet which was delicious. We also had a side portion of penne vodka which was absolutely amazing- great vodka sauce. Everything came out nice and hot. Our servers were friendly. I had the fra-diablo drink and it was to die for!!!! If you are a passion fruit fan, I highly recommend it. My husband enjoyed a gin cocktail and the rosé was also delicious. Four of us ate here for a Thanksgiving dinner. The irony is no one ordered the turkey special. There's a lot on the menu to choose from -- mostly Italian with some American & Argentinian dishes -- think steaks with chimichurri sauce. I got a skirt steak w/chimichurri sauce, mashed potatoes & spinach. Two orders of chicken parm over penne & a NY Strip steak, mushrooms, mashed & veggies. Instead of bread they bring out garlic knots while you're waiting for your entrées. Among us we had Wine, Beer and Prosecco & 3 desserts: tiramisu, pumpkin pie & chocolate mousse. Everything was delicious. The staff is friendly, interior is attractive. We sat in the bar area near large windows. Place was so busy so service was a bit slow but we were fine and enjoyed ourselves.
