My wife and I just came back from Cali and my mother recommended this place. My wife was reluctant cause she usually has someone do her nails but due to last minute scheduling, we took the chance and went. They shape nails very well, as well as French tips, but they don't communicate saying what type of Art level they can do for nails. Prices are absolutely ridiculous for the quality of nails. I asked for a fill in and a very simple design and was charged $75!!! That's normally what I pay for a new set with much more detailed designs and much better designs at other places. I came in with my daughter for a manicure and pedicure, hoping for a nice experience together. Instead, the staff openly discussed who would have to do my nails right in front of me, as if it were a chore. They rushed through my manicure in five minutes, tried to apply gel instead of regular polish, and left my daughter waiting. The staff seemed annoyed & uninterested in helping us. It's been far too long since I pampered myself, much less my feet. The gentleman that did my deluxe pedicure gave THE BEST massage, not just a quick rub. I am so so glad I didn't pass it up and go the cheaper route by getting the basic pedi. They did an excellent job on my gel pedicure and I loved the massaging chair. After my event, I wanted them off because was concerned about my natural nails. I went in to have acrylics removed. My nail tech ( I wish I knew her name, because she would be called out here) was in a mood and was having a case of the a.., about another customer or coworker at the time...I don't speak the language but it was obvious. I asked her to remove my acrylic nails. SHE PRYED THEM OFF! My natural nails were destroyed! Since I am not knowledgeable about acrylic nails, I thought this was normal..after some research, I realized it is not! This nail tech needs to take more care! Reservations?? Appointments? Why?? The service starts from the initial booking. All was well until well you guessed it our appointment 1130. We were finally seen at 1215. Two pedicures and one manicure it's 145pm and we are still here. Sad thing is I've sat here seeing people walk in and out with no appointment and they have received better/ quicker service. Maybe all this could have been resolved with a great job but quick and on to the next. Well I feel the same on to the next... Have been there twice before and I enjoyed relaxing while my nails were done. Usually takes a 40 minutes. This year I went for the start of sandal weather. The guy who did it kind of rushed me to sit and he whiz by with everything. I messed my big toe and he redid it which I was happy he did but he left the skin around my toe stained when he removed the polish to reapply. I hope the stain comes off otherwise what's the use in wearing sandals with polish stain plus they were not done well. Now I see why only 3 stars. read more

The absolute worst experience I have ever had getting my nails done. I repeatedly had to explain I didn't want shellac or dip. I asked for a simple French manicure, but my girl didn't speak English so someone else had to come and do my pedicure. Same happened with my nails. My niece had a nail lift at the cuticle less than 24 hours later, went back for a repair, and now barely 24 hours later again the nail has come clean off and she was told that if she had to come back again they'd charge her. Be very careful with this salon, La Luxe Nails 3707 Ellison Rd Abq NM 87114. My experience was rough. My daughter suggested this place. The girl who did my nails was terrible. She pulled one nail off to the nail bed in one small spot. I jumped and she said she was sorry. So we continued. She began talking and laughing with the rest of her co-workers in the salon and the next thing I know a big chunk is taken out of my thumb nail! I jumped back, I cursed and asked her what the hell. She asked me to go wash my hands. I took a few pictures and came back. She said someone else would do my nails. The nail bed was exposed on 2 nails. I am aware they have to heal, AT THIS PONT THEY ARE SHOWING BLOOD SPOTS. Danny took over and was very apologetic. At the same time, the first lady who was doing my nails would not be quiet about me taking pictures of my fingers. I asked Danny to ask her to be quiet. She continued to squawk. Danny excused it by saying they are all females and most ladies want him because he does not talk. They covered my nails in gel. The manager comes over.... they talk in their native language, she laughs and walks off. Was it about me? I don't know. I will assume so, since the lady I asked to be quiet was talking too. They tell me, next time I come in, they will do my nails for a discount..... no thanks! When I am paying for my daughter's nails, I ask if we can use the discount they plan to give me next time, for my daughter today. The manager from the back, yelled in her native language no. Never once did she come talk to me. Never once did she apologize. Had they given us the discount, I would have paid the difference in tip to the girl who did my daughters nails. I love this place! Ever since I moved to Albuquerque almost a year ago I have been coming here for manicures, pedicures and eyebrow waxing. The staff is always so friendly and I've never had any issues with not getting what I asked for or what was expected of me. The have a good color selection and a really big gel nail polish selection, I'm so pleased! They have a discount card system, after you fill it up with stamps you get $5 off your next purchase. Just recently I went to get a regular manicure (no gel) and the nail polish lasted for an entire week until I had to take it off (I cannot wear red to work)... that never happens with me! I'm not sure if it was the brand of nail polish or perhaps whatever base/top coat she used but whatever it was, was amazing! If I don't use gel on my nails, my nail polish always starts chipping within 2 days but not here. read more

Went in on Saturday with my daughter. She treated me to a pedicure for Mother's Day. We had an afternoon and weren't sat down until 30 minutes past our appointment time. Once seated the water wasn't warm. The woman that did my pedicure had horrible beside manner and was not friendly. When it was time to buff and sand the bottom of my foot. She attempted to use a dirty used sanding pad on me. Ewwwww! When I complained she decided to what I can only assume is complain because I did not understand what she was saying. She was rough. And took no concern when using the preheated items on my skin. Overall if I could give zero stars I would. Very disappointing. Update: we are now at the end of May. My daughter got a horrible nail infection between the gel polish and her natural nail. I thought my feet were fine but I did have some sensitivity to my nails. Sure enough I have the same thing my daughter had! ZERO STARS. Management really needs to look at the reviews. read more

I always come here for a great pedicure when I'm in dire need of one. I hated my experience. I payed for the high end deluxe pedicure cause I like my feet to be taken care of. When purchasing the deluxe pedicure package I'm expecting at least the individual doing them to do decent. I tip good as long as my feet are taken care of. The lady doing my toes barely scrubbed my feet. She did not even trim my toes at least somewhat. Then proceeded to dig her own nail under a broken toe nail that had ripped off a week before I went. I was in pain when she did this and told her and she was extremely inconsiderate. I got a good smooth rub on my legs and feet. Not the type anyone wants. When I left I still proceeded to have black on my feet like they came in more dirty then they were. Like I stated I tip good when I pay for the deluxe pedicure package and I'm expecting way more than a decent experience like I usually do. Won't be coming here again. read more

Probably the worst set of acrylics I've ever had. I went in after work an hour and 45 before close and I was treated rude, the nail tech hurt my nails and was very rough. Sloppy paint job. The counter girl was rushing me and took my card out of my wallet while I couldn't touch anything. Haven't even had them a week and the nails are already popping off. the cuticle lounge is where I recommend now, they are so nice and they take their time doing your nails and making sure they are what you want and they last. read more

Umm I'm not sure what to think of this nail spot. I saw the mixed reviews. I needed a pedicure, so I decided to stop here. We went in and at first no one spoke, one technician was on her phone while the others were with clients, and she said nothing. After about 2 minutes a lady greeted us and asked us what we needed. I only needed two pedicures. They told us to give them a minute to set up the chairs. I took a look at all their polishes and they really need to replace them ALL--they look like they had been their from years and had various brands(this is for basic polishes can't speak for the gels). I finally found one that I didn't think was to old and was able to go to the chair. No one told me to turn on the message or offered us water, but there were water bottles for customers. I got the basic pedicure for $22 bucks but as I begin to look around I started to wonder about the cleanliness of the tools (thank you fellow Yelpers for making me paranoid- lol). I didn't see them take the tools out of a sealed bag (which is what I am used to). The lady didn't do a bad job but she completed my pedicure in about 25 minutes. Their was nothing added to the pedicure water and my message on each leg was only about 2 minutes ( I have had longer messages with basic pedicures). My technician said a few things here and there to have conversation. The lady working on my brothers pedicure did a great job getting all his dead skin off and filling down his feet, he also said the bathroom was clean. In all, I have to give this place a 2 based on - it looks decent inside, they took good care of my brother, and this wasn't the worst pedicure I have had. I still have some suspect questions tho, so I probably won't be back. read more

This is the only nail place I trust with my sets these days. They do quality nails and I've never had a problem with my full sets breaking or lifting. I always walk away with what I want and am happy with my nails. However, their customer service needs some work! Most of the techs are very unwelcoming and have bad attitudes. I made an appointment and got in right at my appointment time, I showed my lady a picture of what I wanted to get done. It took her 6 tries to actually get what I wanted. She drilled my nail so many times that the drill was super hot and it was hurting me really badly. After she had finished, I went to pay. She charged me 50 dollars for my acrylic set. (Which wasn't what I was told) and an extra 40 for my sister (who didn't get half of the work done that I did) my nails still didn't come out the way that I wanted them but I had been there so long that I just wanted to get out of there. I took my mom to La Luxe nails to have her very first gel manicure and it sucks to say that she had the worst experience. They sat my mom down first but even my nails were done before hers. The lady doing her nails was constantly getting out of her chair and doing other things. Talking on the phone and visiting other nail techs. My mom and I are not ones to complain or start a scene so we were patient. Finally the nail tech comes back, sits at the chair and finally gets her nails done. We did pay for the services only because my mom actually liked the way her nails came out but she did not leave a tip for her tech.
