If ur not going here ur nails probably are embarrassing. I've been to at least 3 other salons before finding La Luxe. They are uh-may-Zing. Kim and Cindy are legit. I mostly go to Kim and I'd follow her anywhere. She actually CLEANS ur toenails with a pedi. She doesn't mess around. Her nail painting is perfection and when you get gel, that's a must. They have almost 500 gel colors if not more and I'm not exaggerating plus they have the new Opi Infinite Shine polish. Sure the place could be cleaner in the corners bit I'm there for the mani/pedis and after 3 years of coming here I'll never go anywhere else. When traveling I'm always disappointed with their work and Kim, Cindy or the owner Thuy have never let me down. They also give you a punch card for $ off. BEST IN THE NW!!!!!!!! read more

Took my sister for a pedicure and new set. I got a regular polish pedicure. My toe nail is literally cut slanted and and nail polish on my toe. I do better pedicures on myself. My sisters set was bumpy so asked them to fix it and they looked at her nails and said they were fine and didn't fix it. I just left here and I didn't get my nail girls name. However she was mean from the minute I sat down. Gave attitude and treated me rudely because I didn't want gel. (Stopped getting gel because it has completely damaged my nails) she threw my hands around roughly and because of that it smeared the polish. She rushed through it and completely half assed the manicure. I practically paid to get my nails painted??? After it smeared she told me to be careful. I tried to break the ice by complementing her and she just said "thanks" and she didn't say another word to me the entire service. I am still trying to understand why I even left a tip at all. This isn't my regular nail place. I came here because I needed a fill and a pedicure for my vacation. I know they were terribly busy so I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but the state of my nails after leaving was worse than when I came. Now let me be clear my pedicure came out good but the process was less than pleasant. The woman giving me the pedicure didn't have her hair tied back so her hair was clinging to my legs and in between my toes! So gross! Also the fact that she would get up and do something else right in the middle of my pedicure was rather annoying but they were busy so I tried to not let it bother me so much. Now my fill was just awful. The man who gave me my fill was polite but to be truthful he did a horrible job. The gel was bubbling about an hour after I left my nails are filed crooked. I do have crooked first fingers but I know the difference between that and a crooked nail. He rushed and didn't put my matte top coat on completely, I had to have him redo that. But I have never in my life seen gel bubble! I don't think he let them cure under the uv light long enough because they were so busy. Even though the staff was polite that doesn't excuse the fact that they did a very poor job and they seemed very unsanitary. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone! There are much better places in abq to go to. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There are cheaper places that do so much better. If I could give 0 stars I would. We got right in and they put us in chairs with our feet soaking - we sat in water for over 20 min- from balky had to remind them we had been waiting. Went here because of the reviews. Walked in and was helped right away. My daughter and I both got pedicures here. Her nail tech seemed to take her time and did the job right. My nail tech was in a hurry for some reason and rushed through my cuticles, cutting some of the edges. She later poured some acetone on the areas she had cut, obviously it burned. The actual polish was done decently. I was also hair for a mani, so after my pedicure they asked me to pick the powder I wanted to use and asked me to sit down. I waited for about 10mins after I chose my color and no one was coming to help me. They also didn't let me know when they would get to me. I eventually asked how long it would take and they said 5 more mins. I said ok and waited. 10 mins passed by and i was not helped. I decided to let them know I was leaving (I had somewhere to be in an hour) so the lady was like oh we're ready now (really? It had to take me saying I was leaving for them to say they were finally ready?) I got up and went to pay for our pedicures. Again the lady was telling me to sit because they could help me now (yet there was no one heading over to the chair). I let them know I just didn't have time anymore and that I would just pay for our pedicures. They weren't too happy and all of a sudden they were ready since I was leaving and they were losing money on a service. 2stars for the lady that did my daughter's toes and took her time. read more

I'm not sure what the Lux stands for but it is not for luxurious by any means. I feel like a complete idiot even putting my feet into their saran wrapped pedicure basin. Like the minute I sat down I should have gone with my gut and left ! So the dude who I was so lucky to get ... NOT....didn't even greet me, that should have been my second signal to get the hell out of there. The third signal should have been that he used the unsterilized foot scrubber on me that he obviously had been using all day. They SO DO NOT sterilize between customers and their equipment is disgusting which is probably why my feet inched till I got home ! I had to scrub them with peppermint oil and soak them for 45 minutes for the itching to stop. They added NOTHING to the basin for a nice experience and this guy was rough and not thorough AT ALL. He RUDLY tapped me on the leg to change my feet in and out of the water. The pedi was a whopping 10 minutes not relaxing at all.... This was the WORST pedicure I have ever gotten. A monkey could have legit done a better job. AND he was way to rough with filing the crap out of the edge my toe nails. At this point I'm already too far in to flee and I don't want my daughter to see my disappointment. He gel polished my nails just ok. I was on a date with my daughter and had already promised her a set of nails. I should have left to a better salon. These people are arrogant and so rude it's ridiculous. They didn't even give my daughter foam flip flops to walk to the nail area, she walked over bare footed on their disgusting floor. When I mentioned it we just got foreign language gossip, and you know exactly what I mean ! Then this dude, BECAUSE HE was NO GENTLEMEN !! Bitched about the nails I picked FROM THEIR DISPLAY!! Are you kidding me? He didn't understand what I meant by natural ! Wow!! Some nail professional, I really think the health department needs to do a surprise visit soon, because the patrons are getting ripped off! And after sitting there waiting for this dude to do my nails they are so filthy I really should have walked out !! I was in the beauty industry for several years I should have NEVER of subjected me and my daughter to this, I KNOW BETER!! He LITERALLY was on FaceTime as HE WAS DOING MY NAILS !! WTH!!! It's been a week and my nails have already lifted and CRACKED and my daughters gel already lifted, which shouldn't be a shocker considering how the lady she got globbed on the gel polish ... We paid $168 !! When I asked why so much she's like, "oh you get Deluxe pedicure" I laughed at her and and said, " there was nothing deluxe about my pedicure" I just figured I was stupid enough to sit there at this point I just want him to finish so I don't have to be subjected to foreign gossip any longer and get the hell out of there. But at this point I'm not going to win the argument with these people, because they are ALL about their money, which would be fair if they were clean and professional. I chose this place based off of the reviews and had an entirely different experience. The biggest thing that stood out was that they reuse the disposable plastic liners in the pedi tubs - gross! I pointed out the issues I had with my nails such as uneven nails, sloppy paint job and was met with the nail tech's snotty attitude. The environment was not at all relaxing, it was loud, the other nail techs were obnoxious. Definitely will not be going back and will warn others not to waste their time or money. read more

This place gives great manicures and pedicures! Love their products and love the selection of colors of polish! The only complaint I have is of one manicurist... she's rude!!!! Not sure if it's because she's currently pregnant or not, but it's no excuse to be rude and short with a customer who is simply asking a question. Certainly does NOT deserve a tip from her client considering the way she talks to her! Not to mention they rude way she chose to chime into MY conversation with my manicurist! Deplorable. Anyone who likes their nails should not go anywhere near this place. First off, it is filthy... tools, files are not cleaned, even the nail techs do NOT wash up between customers. I was asked to sit at a station ... still covered in the last client's acrylic dust with tools, files, drill bits everywhere. The nail tech moves from the client to my right to me, not cleaning her hands at all. Then the tech is chatting away with everyone and no one in particular (in Vietnamese) and answers the phone in perfectly good English and acts like she doesn't know what I'm saying when I ask a question. The nails were uneven, sloppily applied and after 3 days huge chunks of the polish are coming off. NOT WORTH THE MONEY and certainly not worth the risk of infection, fungus or other disgusting issues from unsanitary practices. I will not be going again. read more

I have been here twice before and I loved it, and once for my prom and the girl who did my nails was amazing. But this time I was very disappointed. I went in to get a full set with gel, the lady that did it didn't even clean up my cuticles at all and trust me they needed to be cleaned up. Then she was more worried about who was texting her and the money in her wallet, at one point she completely forgot to do my left thumb nail with the powder. My nails honestly look like they are press on nails and if I would have known they would look like this I would have gone to Walgreens and gotten some for 30 dollars cheaper. The worst part was she never even had me wash my hands at all through the appointment, until the very end. I called in and made 2 pedi appointments. They said absolutely no waiting. Upon arrival we find 6 women seated up front waiting for service. I told them we had two pedi appointments, they said it will take 10 minutes, have a seat. We waited up front for 20 minutes. They called one of us back, put me in a chair with cold water running and I waited another 20 minutes, without anyone asking me if I needed anything (I never had the chance to say "water is freaking cold!") We waited a total of 45 minutes without any service. I was quite upset that they would say "no waiting." We get there and they say "10 minutes!" Don't ever take them for their word because their word is worthless!!! read more

This was my first time coming to La Luxe, and will certainly be my last. Although the salon itself looks very nice in appearance, the workers do not seem to care about you or your experience unless you are spending upwards of $30. I came in for a simple manicure. The woman who did my nails rushed, skipping the sides of my nail and leaving obvious blank strips. The polish was applied sloppily in thick layers and when it dried, it had numerous bubbles, and the polish itself was warped. Additionally, the woman who was doing my nails made me pay before she even painted my nails, even though I came with a friend who was getting both a mani and pedi, and I wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon. Finally, the clear coat didn't even cover my color, which I know will affect the longevity of my manicure. The manicure cost $15 including tax, but I have had much better $12 elsewhere. I wanted to try something new, but learned to just stick with what works. I will NOT be coming back to La Luxe. read more

Not up to my standards on service or professionalism. Went in to get arcylic removed but Before removed asked if my nails would break with just gel. They stated no breaking and gel would work. On way home 3 of my nails broke. Next dat went back and asked for redo, owner Tweet was rude and interrogated me in front of patrons and other nail techs also looked at my nails as they spoke in their native language. They refused to redo my nails and stated that my nails were unhealthy and weak. I informed them if they were unhealthy it was due to their filing process having been a customer for over a year. I walked out and told them to kiss off! No standards for professionalism and this industry gets a pass on quality customer service. Finally sat down at a dusty, dirty station, the lady handed me a bunch of color options for a gel manicure, which was the only plus side of this place, lots of colors to choose from. She didn't ask me what shape nail I wanted, cut my cuticles uneven and applied the polish very sloppy and uneven. Was speaking to her fellow nail tech the whole time in their language. Another nail tech was talking on her cell phone the entire time she had a client. Had a few customers walked in and one of the workers walked up front, with her eyes glued to her phone. WORST nail salon experience EVER. DON'T GO HERE! They are rude & dirty/unsanitary. I picked this spot because it had some great reviews and I called ahead to ask if they use disposable liners and they assured me they did. Here's a list of everything that went wrong: 1. No one greeted me when I walked in. It's cool they are busy I get it. I patiently waited at the front till someone noticed. 2. One of the techs asked very rudely: "what you want?" No big deal maybe she's just all business and having a stressful day, I understand that. 3. Told her I needed 2 pedicures. One for me and one for my mom who would be coming soon. She just walked away and expected me to know to follow her. When she got to the pedicure chairs she looked over at me annoyed I wasn't there yet and waved me over. That was weird but no biggie. 3. She pointed to my chair. I asked if the liner on the bowl was new because I'd like a new liner. She ASSURED me that they change it after every customer leaves. She attempted to explain that it would not work (the water?) again if it was a used liner. I didn't understand what she was saying but I believed her since she said it was a new liner. So I put my feet in and they begin my pedicure. 4. The lady next to me gets done with her pedicure, pays, & leaves... yet no one changes the liner on her chair. 5. My mom arrives and they point her to the chair next to me for her to sit. I tell her to wait for them to change the liner since my tech says that's what the do. They try to tell her it's new liner but I explained that I was sitting rthere after the last lady left and no one has changed it yet. 3 of the techs then begin to get really angry and had a bad attitude when I asked them to change both of our liners. 6. I offered to pay extra but they still had a bad attitude. I should have left at this point but was in a hurry & needed the pedicure. They eventually changed the liners. 7. I picked out a gel color and she said they didn't have that any more. I proceeded to pick out 2 more colors she said they also didn't have until I found one they did have. 8. She was rough with me and started painting my nails with a a dried out clumpy polish. When I tried to talk to her about it she got the worst attitude I've ever seen in real life. So I told her to take it off that I didn't want any color & I left. Wow. Just wow. I've never experienced anything like this before. They put me in the water for my pedicure and left me there in cold water for about an hour. Finally when I was about to get up and leave. She stopped me and said they would get to me right away. She proceeded to try and up sell me. Last time giving them a chance. Not the first time I've left this place upset with the terrible service and overpricing. I keep searching for a good nail salon in Abq with no success! This place was promising, plenty of staff and chairs, no wait, "seemed" clean. The staff are rude and don't ask you what you want. Refused to give me callous treatment. Pedicures were painful for both me and my daughter. They don't use fresh supplies and the foot bowls are wrapped in plastic, very odd and uncomfortable. My experience at La luxe was not the best. It was terrible. The girl that waxed my eyebrows left wax around my eyebrows. I felt like she was in a rush. She left stands of hair behind.
